    One tip that my husband and mother in law have taught me is to coat the bottom and sides of the pan with a little ghee so that the milk doesn't stick and it actually works!!

    Cooked this recipe on Riju, my son's birthday, and it turned out so awesome. Riju ate up one bowl in 5 mins. The ingredients and their quantities were perfect. Thanking Indiya Aunty and Saptarshi Kaku, as Riju call you guys, for the first time, though have cooked you recipes many times before.

    I prefer chilled payesh 😊. Amar dida'r theke sikhechilam 1l dudhe ak mutho gobinda bhog chal. This is the measurement of rice that i always follow. But coating the rice with ghee is defntly somthing new for me. Will try this version of payesh n let u know ☺️

    I have tried this Payesh and it turned out to be just awesome. What extra thing I did is keeping the Ghee alive. After frying the cashews and taking them out of the pan I poured the milk on the remaining Ghee to keep a 'Me' touch in the recipe. Try it..😊

    Same method used in my home...thamma & jemma used to coat the rice with ghee & then they used it into the milk... Far from home still I can feel the aroma from hyderabad 😍😍😍😋😋😋😋 wish you guys a very Happy pongal or subho poush sankranti 😊

      Usually salt should not be added into milk, it may cause diseases, but it does taste lovely.

    I.. found out an alternative if one can't find nolen Gur. Make caramel and add that instead of nolen Gur. That brings almost nolen Gur-ish flavour.

    Ami Last week exact process a 1st time payesh korlam.. Nije o vabte pari ni eto valo hobe... sobai khb praise korlo... Ami ranna korte khb e valobasi, but amar non veg recipe er dike jhok ta besi, desert item kokhono try kori na... tomader ta dekhe sotti khb mon theke ichhe korlo korte. try o korlam and success o pelam tai tomader sathe o anondo ta share korlam...     The secret is the right proportion of rice and milk and a lot of patience. I use 1 fistful of rice in 1 litre full cream milk
