Fena oxidius, I've had six Pekingese over the last forty years and I've had the absolute sweetest to somewhat temperamental. They are protective of people and food and sometimes toys but they have so much personality and are so fun to have around. As long as your patient with them it will be awesome!
Wonderful groom. I have two white male Pekinese and I keep them short too. They actually act like they feel better. If I let it grow back, it WILL resume their long, beautiful coat so I have no qualms shaving them down.
I missed my baby princess 😭she is also a Pekingese .her color is brown .she is so sweet and so loyal 😭I missed her so much .she died last month 😭😭😭 I have her ashes with me so she can be with me till I die ..I still cry for her😭
Yes, I'd never trim my Peke that short. While this groomer is excellent with scissoring, I prefer to just "tidy up" my Peke's coat. But maybe the owner doesn't want to groom daily. 🙂
Great scissor technique! Great dog! I wish my Pekes would cooperate with me like that. My Pekes are very difficult when I only try to trim privates. What makes this this dog stay so cooperate?

I had a pekingese when I was little like five or something. She was an old pup but she died after swallowing an old copper penny. We only found out about this when we saw the penny in her vomit. It looked brand new from the acids.
My groomer warned me that a Peke's coat would never grow back as long as it was before and sadly she was right. After 5 years I stopped grooming (cutting all her hair) and it hasn't grown down the floor again again.
Sheepperro Argie .....sometimes pekes coat change as they mature or grow older. Two of ours had “long hair” on their heads and it seems to grow shorted of its own accord I have never trimmed the head hair. Now my girl has hair about 2 inches on her head whereas when she was younger it was about six inches long. I used to plait it and put scrunches in her hair she wasn’t keen on them she would rather have dinner and leaves stuck on her head and always managed to get the bows etc out. Probably made her hair stop growing cunning little madam 😀.

My Pekingese died at 14 last summer. Not a day goes by I don't miss him & tear up. He always hated going to the groomer & would be stressed. So, I bought dog clippers (they need heavy duty!!) & cut his hair at home every month, never taking him to groomer again. He was perfectly calm and would snooze on his back while I trimmed the underside.
Pekingese dogs love to look pretty! Mine look like Won ton Soup look up Mugsysmom62 Pekingese attacks dust mop. This is a summer cut only . That’s a pet quality peke. Flat faced is show. There my favorite I bred them twice. Still have Robin ❤️
He knows what a royal treatment is like when he's the witness n flesh n bone 😍 you know he knows what's good when it's happnin, especially after this session 🤗 he looks way better I think anyone who takes care of them selves and others is the best privileges that can happen in life, that cuttie is all creased up 😎.
I have a Pekingese dog , which I love dearly . I ve had him for 13 years , I have a problem , he smells like wet socks . I’ve tried everything . . I don’t understand why he smells like this . , ps I spend a lot of money on his grooming . Does anyone have this problem ? What am I missing ?
@@christinetrianta9185 From what you said the "Smell" generally it's Yeasty perhaps you could make your own diagnose & generally yeast infection the skin usually cover with tick "powdery" scales espcially if it's damped it will be "sticky"

Whether you like it or not That's the" CONTROL" & the Dog must be absolutely " STILL " & it's the most delicate part near the eyes we call it the " STOP" area & is folded inwards
Why would anyone do that to a Pekingese. If you want a small short hair dog, get a Pug. That is not a slam on Pugs, they are wonderful pets, just like the Pekingese.
You did a FULL STRIP and butchered that poor creature. Looks terrible. Guys, the best grooming is done by a Nash Academy graduate. Peke’s don’t have the body type to be fully shaved. When a dog is finished, he’s supposed to look like he is ‘naturally beautiful’.

We started our peke going to groomer just for baths at about six months and then moved up to grooming as he got older. He does very well with them.

Fena oxidius Pekes are amazing. One I had was a little selfish but so sweet.
My Pekingese is the opposite of this behaved little boy! Mine is so wild, but super cute too! Love him a lot!
