Really good video, I always learn from your thoughts during training about lactate, power... also it's very nice to hear details about nutrition and other stuff GG!
Got a heads up to your channel from Chris Miller Cycling video "Nero Show" Really enjoying watching your videos and will be interested to see how your season goes.
@cedrikbakkechristophersen great vid, thanks for sharing! I'd love to hear even more about the adaptations your are targeting for your training blocks, how the sessions fit in with that, how you measure progress, etc. Keep it up!
Thanks! LT1 is basically “fat max” and LT2 is threshold. Stands for Lactate threshold 1 and 2. The reason why I’m doing it is because I have to become more efficient. Efficiency is key;)
Have you always been doing many threshold training (for the intervals) during your career of have you been training on a regular 'polarized training plan'? What is the reason that you only do one or tho vo2max sessions each month? Does this change during race season? Keep on the good work! Wouter
Thanks! Yes, my needs in training have been threshold for the last couple of years now. That’s also the reason why I’m not doing to much vo2. I’m pretty good at vo2 max and my limitations is more at threshold and not at vo2 for now;)
How are you creating progressive overload below LT1 during the base season? Via increasing the time in zone or slowly increasing the power over time, or both?
Main reason is to get some more volume in, but it make it also easier to have more specific sessions like today (1xLT1 session + 1x harder interval) because you have several sessions a week
Two questions: why the running intensity? I get the shorter run recovery sessions but why the intervals? Why two cycling sessions? I’ve never heard of a pro rider doing 2 a days, normally one long ride of 4-6 hours
Run intervals: To get some more volume at higher intensity in and at the same time do something slightly different after few weeks with lots of cycling. 2 cycling sessions a day: Main reason is to get some more volume in, but it make it also easier to have more specific sessions like today (1xLT1 session + 1x harder interval).
@@cedrikbakkechristophersen interesting approach. Very atypical for the cycling world. 39 hours a week is also very high for a cyclist. My understanding is it’s rare to have even a to pro over 25 hours a week.
@@cedrikbakkechristophersen There is some literature saying that lactate lowers when aclimatized to altitude besides maintaining the same effort. But yeah, I can be wrong, need to read more stuff. Thank you Cedrik, good trainings ahead!
Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Collin Chartier doping case, and what the talks have been like amongst you Norwegians about it, if you're willing to share?
Everyone got shocked when the news came and it’s surrealistic that people think Mikal is involved in this.. I know for sure that the Norwegians have nothing to do with this case. Other than that, it good that those who cheat are getting caught. There’s no shortcuts in sport.

Interesting video, thanks for sharing
One of the best videos on the channel, great Cedrik! I love this types of content!
Thank you!
In the moment when i saw big Blu, i liked the video 😂. Nice content Cedrik!
Haha, Thanks!

Best Vlog!!!! Nice content, thanks for sharing so many details
Thank you so much!

Do you ever do VO2 max intervals, like all out 4-5 mins?
I probably do 1 or 2 seasons above threshold a month;)
Back with the cycling vlogs!
Best season ever coming up🤞
Hope so!😮💨
RÅ VIDEO! Inspirerande å følgje deg!!
Tusen takk!
Insane volume. Love to see it
Thanks! Important to say that not every week is like this;)
Hi Cedrik, great vlog again ✌️✌️
Was wondering what Lt1 and Lt2 means and what adaptations are you looking to achieve ,
Thanks 😊
Yes, why do LT1 intervals with a warm up and cool down instead of just a continuous LT1 ride?
Thanks! LT1 is basically “fat max” and LT2 is threshold. Stands for Lactate threshold 1 and 2. The reason why I’m doing it is because I have to become more efficient. Efficiency is key;)
Feels much better after I’ve been doing a short warm up. Feeling much more efficient
Thanks so much for this video Cedrik. GG!!

I noticed Garmin bike computer, why Garmin over Wahoo, or hammerhead cycle computers? GG!
I have always used garmin🤷🏼♂️
Interesting that you do double sessions

Good Video, Good Luck!
Thanks!
What is the rational behind having a morning and afternoon session? I know this is very common for swimmers but less so for cyclists.
Main reason is to get some more volume in, but it make it also easier to have more specific sessions like today (1xLT1 session + 1x harder interval) because you have several sessions a week
@@cedrikbakkechristophersenI’m mostly doing lt1 training. On my work days off I do an lt1 and a vo2 workout. Do you think this is good?

True, but why do like everyone else?
More of this Content please Really interesting
Thank you!
150 heartrate in Lt1? Isnt that a bit high or where you doing some heat stuff there 6:47
LT1 is a lactate zone, not a heart rate zone;)
Great video! Also, you should be a model! You have a really nice face
Hahah, Thanks!
Just gonna sit in my bed and eat some haribo and Pringles😂😂😂
Eat more, train more;)
@@cedrikbakkechristophersen do you ever focus on getting quite lean for climbing races?
Great video! Fortsätt så. 👍
Tack!
What are the values of lactate in LT1 and LT2 that you target in this video? LT1 session and Threshold/ LT2 one?
At LT1 I’m aiming for having the highest power as possible with the lowest lactate as possible. LT2 I’m aiming for around 2.5mmol
@@cedrikbakkechristophersen Got it for LT1. For LT2, that value is for altitude (when aclimatized) or is your normal at sea level LT2 mmol value?
@@XavierHipolito its always the same

Yes!
Which edit program do you use?
iMovie🤠

isn't 70min LT2 too much as you're not supposed to do more than 60min during a race
Why is this?
