Giorgi Kakava Asylum Seeker

10-year-old Giorgi Kakava lives with his grandmother in Springburn, Glasgow after the death of his mother Sopio.
They are asylum seekers from Georgia and have been here for over seven years.
Plans to deport Giorgi back to the country of his birth have been halted at the last minute after a long running campaign spearheaded by Springburn Parish Church's Reverand Brian Casey which gained 50,000 signatures in an online petition.
This is some filming I did for the Church as part of ceremony to not only announce Giorgi's stay of deportation but also to unveil a commemorative tree planted in memory of Giorgi's late mother who tragically died last year of cancer.
