Just for historical context, although commercially Nas and Jay -Z in the mix with Biggie were revered formidable Emcees in the East Coast, Big L was probably the most feared. If we were in a different planet, Big L and Canibus in that era were the pinnacle of lyricism. Earned a sub from South Africa.
I don't think he was that feared I came up in that era. He was definitely a top teir emcee but so were others he was a clever punchline emcee no doubt Nas and Jay had the streets because they were versatile with the lyrics and street bangers that people were playing all summer
@@willt8848is that why nas said he was terrified and said it scared him to death when he heard L? He said "if this is what I gotta compete with...aint no way"
Nas tried 99 to be commercial but never worked , just not his style , he too real for the game you feel me ? He never sold his soul for riches. I am not like offended or criticizing you in any ways . Just listen more to Nas ...
Big Daddy Kane snapped on this 💥

Big Daddy Kane showed why Big L studied him
Rest In Peace L. dropped another killer verse, Kane snapped, and one of the illest beats by the legend DJ Premier (Primo)
This was my intro to Big L, mad years ago 😭
I never heard that kinda lyrical audacity before then. BDK verse was the real killer tho! 😤

Big L would of a been a superstar if he was never murdered.
I am convinced he would have been the top dawg even over Eminem when it comes to rap.
@@michaellind4387facts I agree
"Now, exhibit styles I kick with it: *[COUGH]* Pardon me but I'm f****** sick with it!" DJ Premier on the beat.
