  • Rest can be a point of tension for so many of us, but when we push past the need to pause, we’re on a path for destruction. In this episode, Christine Caine and co-host Rachel Hunka with Propel Women welcome back CEO, Rosilyn Houston, to discuss the importance of taking a break before we break. When you learn how to push pause, you can rest, restore, and revive your soul.

Last week I had to set aside my entire writing schedule, I can get so lost in my work a lot, frequently, recently I just took my biggest break, no drafting, nothing about my work for a week, I said God, this week is for you and I . By the seventh day, I just felt stronger and better than I ever was. It was just extraordinary.. Sabbath doesn't slow you down, it takes you further.

I have disciplined myself to make my first appointment of the day to sit at Jesus ' feet. One night a week with my grandkids is my Sabbath and rest because they are like medicine to my heart besides the Word.

Girl preach... and I failed everywhere.... at church, home and work.
And when you are in an environment where everyone is acting the same way what do you do. I got written up at work because the burnout was so bad. That hurt because I had been struggling to find the balance. Single mom, full time job, doctoral student and heavily involved in church.... Christine I need this series...and to apply it without guilt.

I really needed this. I'm so scared to prioritize myself because of the opinion of others. I'm totally exhausted

Sabbath/Rest is important. It's necessary. But I believe it means more than just self care. That is important too, but Yahweh gave a schedule. Once every seven days, separate from everything and spend time with him. Physically rest. Worship. Spend time with the family.
Corporate society has made it almost impossible to take a day, but taking that day truly helps to keep you grounded in Yahweh.
Additionally, there were other Sabbaths other than the weekly Sabbath, where people stepped away from their daily work to worship, to celebrate, to sacrifice.
I truly believe that being intensively about Sabbath is important.
