There are many witnesses I have seen that should be fired because of how they handled their interviews however I think Ray is honest and gives more information than most.
He isn't hiding anything, he smirks because he knows he can tell obvious lies to congress with no fear of retribution. Congress has very limited investigation powers but no judicial powers. Congress can request the DoJ to file charges, most normal people know Garland will stonewall and not file charges against any Democrat or wait until statutes of limitations expires to only file much lesser charges. Congress could attempt to impeach and remove Wray but without a super majority and no support from the Democrats that would be a waste of time and taxpayers money.

When Wray won’t look at who ever is asking question he is lying. People who look the person asking questions has nothing to hide.
She asked him whether the bureau is investigating whether the groups harassing Jews are connected to Hamas.
The first thing he does is answer a different question, not the question she asked.
He answers the question as to whether he has been vocal on how big a concern those attacks are.
The question was not about his personal level of public concern about the issue, it was simply a factual question about the bureau's investigations.
Sounds like he's unnecessarily defending himself against an accusation that wasn't launched. To way that another way, it sounds like he's being defensive. Why would that be?
