Dune begins with Jessica training Paul to get a glass of water using his Bene Gesserit skills. It's amazing how that sums up many themes in the story.
Ohhhhhh. Nice catch!
That eclipse scene was something else
There’s a shot of a three-quarter eclipse in the movie, that is a real one. Taken while the crew was in the desert.
Whoever does these narrations for Dune Filmbooks has a mesmerizing voice. Feels like, I can listen to it for hours!
Apparently it was Dune Editor, Joe Walker that narrated these filmbooks
i can imagine the Dune Filmbooks being narrated by other voices from other media, like the narrator of Mass Effect's Codex
@@soymuyfuriosa It was indeed! He did the first ones too and did a great job editing the movie
“Not the blood, sir. But all of a man’s water, ultimately, belongs to his people-to his tribe. It’s a necessity when you live near the Great Flat. All water’s precious there, and the human body is composed of some seventy percent water by weight. A dead man, surely, no longer requires that water” - Liet Kynes.
"More. More. Give me more."
"He's a mad man"
"mAD?!"
"All Fremens are mad!"
"Muad dib is dead. Or he went hiding in the southern storms.. which means the same thing"
"Baron have you investigated the south regions of Arrakis?"
Bless the Maker and his water 💧🥤🗣️🪱🫂🎆
Hearing the same guy from the 1st film doing more filmbooks makes me so happy.
he also edited both films lol
Have this guy do an audiobook recording of the book. Joe Walker has such a pleasant voice.
the way of the scarcity of water being integrated to the whole story is fascinating
In your nightmares you give water to the dead and it brings joy to your heart
@@pinchevulpesNothing like some accurate accusations of heresy to put those fundies in their place.
It was described in even more detail in the books. It was heartbreaking reading the lengths they would go to in order to preserve every drop. Def made me appreciate and savor the water I drink
I love this extra material after the release
Please make a Filmbooks about the starships !!
That tainted water is literally tainted by the contamination of Giedi Prime
No the sins 😂
/rwhooooooosh
These are Atredies holobooks, they’re bound to have some… biases
Their sins is that they consume too much preservatives 💀
same difference
Man, this is so amazing. I wish water was real😢
What wealth can you offer beyond the water in your flesh
water rings
Remember to stay hydrated.
3 to 4 liters per day
The Filmbooks Must Flow!! 😊
1:25-1:37 And sometimes, it is just poured to the sand. This action has religious and superstitious roots and happens when a dead person is considered to be an abominable being.
But this is not mentioned here since it is actually a part of Children of Dune lore.
More of these audiobooks please!
In the books Paul cries over the corpse of Jamis and fremen were enchanted by this gesture because Paul was gifting his water in the form of tears to a dead man as a result of grief. We're past that point in the movies though.
Was a shame they had to sort of cut that part but I guess too much of a sad point to end part 1 on. At the start of part 2 would have felt like an afterthought
Thanks for keeping them coming !!
I love that tainted water isnt even disguarded, they just use it for cooling systems and machines
I'd love to see a deluxe DVD version of this film, with all the special features like in the olden days.
DVD lol
@@TobeyStarburst DVDs are fantastic. Beautiful presentation, lots of special features and you actually own the film, unlike with streaming where your purchase can be edited, censored or removed without warning. Get on my level :P
More of this...forever.
“A man’s flesh is on his own;and the water belongs to the tribe”
I love these vids. Keep ‘em comin’. Much love❤❤❤
now the first encounter of Stilgar and Paul make sense, the spitting scene
It always made sense. Duncan explained right away: "Thank you, Stilgar, for the gift of your body's moisture"; it was logical in a desert planet.
I see, understood
This is fascinating, I've never heard of "water" before
this powerpoint are amazing
Love the series 😮
Water is canon in the Dune Universe?
Big if true
MAKE MORE MAKE MORE
i was so angry when the harkonnen destroyed the cavern which held the water
A Space Guild Navigator film book would be awesome
Probably by the time of Messiah
I believe we all already know what water is:)
Fire vs Water
Note: The Fremen are not allowed to drink from the cistern of souls under any circumstances
Keep these coming!
When will it be released on Max?
Followed by Filmbooks: Earth
Where is digital available other than Google Play, Prime video or Apple TV? Apple TV requires iTunes to view the extras and iTunes requires the expensive Apple TV box. Google Play doesn't have extras and Prime video streaming is bad. Is there really no other option?
The bad Gallach font with the missing characters is seriously starting to drive me nuts. How does WB marketing keep missing this?
more. give me more
expired fremen 😂
Present 8 Hours
Dune is ultimately a story about ecology. The environment shapes the people and their culture. Salusa Secundus made the Sardukar hard, but Arrakis made the Fremen harder. The Fremen are Arrakis, and this is the power Leto ultimately wanted to tap- 'desert power'. They fight like demons.
Why does it say exclusive content? Who is excluded from this content?
Confirm The Accountant 2 for international release
Not produced by WB, ask Amazon.
the accountant was mid.
Then at the end the fremen just burn the enemies bodies
they were probbaly drained out already
@@tilenHD i see it as more like its going to start showing the realization of Pauls Jihad. Once he does bring paradise and fremen become museum fremen, being careless about the water, paradise changing the desert ways. We are starting to see the fremen become museum fremen is what im trying to say.
Paul corrupted the Fremen culture when he ascended to power. The burning of fresh bodies was at odds with the Fremen culture and I think it signified the decline of independent thought that zealotry and blind faith cause. It's visual storytelling at it's finest.
@@Bella_MorningstarTheir morals would probably lapse more and more when Paul makes it rain.
@@davidw.2791 Stilgar was a Naib, a leader of free men. He didn't pay the fai, the water tribute to the Harkonnens. He traveled over the surface of Dune, not Arrakis, without the aid of thopter or groundcar. By Messiah/Children he is none of these things. He is now an imperial lackey, no longer primarily concerned with the safety of the tribe, but instead maintaining the power of the new political apparatus. He isn't what he was supposed to be, and the leto and ghanima are chiding him for it.
This isn't entirely Stilgar's fault. Like many, he was caught up in the myth-making of Paul, thanks in large part to the work of the BG Missionaria Protectiva.
From Dune: "In that instant, Paul saw how Stilgar had been transformed from the Fremen naib to a creature of the Lisan al-Gaib, a receptacle for awe and obedience. It was a lessening of the man, and Paul felt the ghost-wind of the jihad in it. I have seen a friend become a worshiper, he thought."
Please confirm Scooby-Doo and Codename Kids Next Door crossover direct-to video film (taking the place after the series finale of Codename Kids Next Door)
I didn't know we humans have clean water in our bodies. I just assumed it was all blood.
it probbaly filters it the machine thingy
@@tilenHDYup. Goes to show how advanced the empire is: Even those “sand people” can scrape up enough cool tech like this.
Shut up and take our money again Warner bros!
Communism
😱
I really hope they show how they fold space. I’d also like to see a Guild Navigator, and for once, just once hear ANYONE say “The spice must flow”. Did anyone notice that phrase isn’t used at all in both movies yet it’s written at least 100 times in the book.
Hopefully Edric the Navigator will say it in Messiah... Denis wouldn't make a trilogy of Dune movies and no one says that line. Messiah will focus more on the imperial politics where this line is more relevant
They do actually show the heighliner folding space in part one. And Navigators do not appear in any scene until Messiah in the books, either. There are already so many characters to introduce, they didn't need to try to cram the navigators into parts 1 and 2
love these.
