I have been a user of Geshelli for quite some time. Awesome family/compny. Extreme cost to performance, have at least 4 components and love them all. I think their dacs are incredible and looking forward to getting a socketed dac. I would have no problems going with any of their electronics. They are function first and that is what is important to me. Go Gino and Sherry. You are great.

I have the SMSL SU-1 with the AKM 4493 chipset. I’ve always wondered if the J2s 4493 would sound better.
I’ve been happy with the SU-1.

Even though ifI Audio is manufactured in China, the company is based in the UK. I have a Gryphon that was 3mo. out of warranty and they went ahead and replaced the battery at no charge. On top of that they were worried about my usb charging device so they sent me one of there dedicated 5v chargers that is noise free at no charge. Kudos to ifI Audio. Show me a China based audio company that would do all that. It really helped that their repair facility is in Virginia. Geshelli is TOTL stuff. They are in another league entirely when it comes to customization and customer service. I love your channel TDM. You are an invaluable asset to the community. Thank you.

Nice You thinking the 4499 or 4493 I actually prefer the 4493 for a more open sounding like ESS vs AK typical sounds, I guess it depends if you want to smooth out the A2.5 or keep it very liniar

Just looked at the Geshelli website and like what I see, although I think they're missing an opportunity in their flagship amp in that it has balanced in but only single ended out. Would be nice to see balanced + single ended with the tone controls!

New subscriber here and such a great video of information.
    Newbie question.
We have a 2.1 music and movie room where we enjoy both equally.
I very much enjoy the micro details in music.
Could you help point me in the right direction on which AKM chip set would have more detail in the music?
Have you tested the Sparkos ss2590 Big Mac OP Amp that you mentioned in this video?
I live in Orlando Florida so definitely want to support Geshelli Labs.
    Happy New Year
    Many thanks.

Thanks for the sub! The best sounding DAC Geshelli makes In my opinion is the JNOG J2 with AKM4493 chip it's super clean maybe a hint of warmth and mine has the Sparkos SS2590 stack in the RCA output and Burson V6V in the XLR output , but the Sparkos kills them the Burson barely do anything sound wise.

The problem with Geshelli is they have no app so you could select the different filters that are built into the 4493 or the 4499. You could buy dacs that cost the same and offer an app to change the dac settings. Even my wiim pro plus with the 4493 has an app to change dac filters. Geshelli is a pass until they develop an app.

    • @tonedeafmonk

I found the 4493 lacks bass. Which was irritating as the cheap audio man said that is what it brought. Has good detail and midrange.

    • @tonedeafmonk
      @tonedeafmonk  6 месяцев назад

I like more mid bass I think he is talking about Subbass in the Geshelli applications the 4493 sounds better to me.

Just started playing with DACs, so I got the SMS SU-1 with 4493 DAC to start my journey. I don't know what DAC Denon utilized in my older but higher-end DVD/CD/SACD Player, but the unit is actually very good overall. By comparison, the SU-1 has a slightly more detailed and slightly brighter top end, but the loss of bass was immediately noticeable. Thanks for confirming my observation. Sounds like the Geshelli with 4499 will be the next stop on my journey.
