- I hope everyone is staying safe in these times.
Steve Stevens has some killer and bizarre guitar work on this song, and that’s even without the ‘laser gun’ at the end. He always comes across well in interviews too which I respect a lot. There’s not much more to be said about Michael that hasn’t already been said but he could have easily had an album of pure rock and it would’ve been killer!
With the UK being on lockdown, I feel I can dedicate the time I would like to playing and recording again.I’d like to do a lot more during this lockdown period, especially more so original content. My computer suffered some hardware failure so I’m stuck for certain recording capabilities and this has been uploaded from my phone, but I’m sure I’ll find a way.

I came across this the other day and I played it in .5 speed till I learned the whole song watching his hands 😂 most people putting lessons on this song still can’t play half as good as this guy
Stevens is so good at knowing how to use restraint. He never plays too much and when it's time to rip it out he knows how to tastefully go over the top. His stuff always gets pushed right to the edge then pulled back leaving room for his singers to shine. Then at the end...a whirlwind. He's the ultimate wingman. This is a fantastic cover. I love your tone.
Steve Stevens only did the chorus & solo. Main riff was played by Paul Jackson Jr

Michael Jackson's all rock songs attained iconic status. I think his rock songs are the most mature ones. Wish he put much more effort on this genre and made a pure rock album.

I remember when Michael Jackson came over to the Milton Keynes Bowl (my Dad and Sister went, I was too young) during the Bad Tour and there was Michael Jackson fever everywhere over there and there was intense press coverage and helicopters flying all over the city that day (same thing happened a year later when Bon Jovi came to play the Bowl). You could feel it everywhere and for that day, it was the coolest place on Earth.
It was Michael who ultimately led me to Eddie Van Halen, Steve Lukather and Steve Stevens and ultimately heavy metal and hard rock music and guitars.
