Hi from Finland!🙂 I used to have issues with picking up stitches. I solved it recently with dividing the armhole in several sections with stitch markers and then picking up the same amount of stitches within the section, so for example it could be 8 sections and 6 stitches in each section.
I have the same problem with picking up stitches. I always just pick up, see how many I get and reduce to what I need by k2tog on the first row. It works fine and you can't really see it.
I really enjoyed this vlog and glimpse into life in Amsterdam. You are not alone in the agony of correctly picking up stitches 🧶😂 Let us know what you think of the book. I have it on my wish list. I bought the Knitting for Olive but love Kika’s patterns
Thank you so much! Good to hear i'm not the only one struggling with picking up stitches hahah😂 I'm planning on making a video about spring knitting plans including a pattern from the book, so will definitely let you know!
Just 'found' your podcast, nice ! As for picking up stitches, yes, it's hard... probably ( my theory ) because practice makes perfect and picking up stitches is something I don't often do. I agree with the other comment about putting stitch marker in, it's my way too, and means I only have to count from marker to marker. When I do end up with one stitch too many, I just see where I picked up stitches close to each other, put a marker in and knit together on the next row. Your cloud sweater ended up great ! I was wondering, where did you buy the wool and book ? As a fellow Dutchie, I'm always in for good tips there :) Your cat is way too cute !! And, a totally not knitrelated question; where did you buy that fabulous cat tree ? Mine will need a replacement in the not too far future, so...
The yarn for the cloud sweater and the book i both bought at a shop called Wol Verhalen, I ordered it online from their website. And the cattree I bought in Schiedam, the website is called Krabpalen en Klimbomen. But they do not ship so you would have to drive there.
@@kimberleytjeerdsma Dank je ! Wolverhalen gaat fijn in mijn favorieten. De krabpaal wordt hem dan niet; ik woon in het noorden des lands, dus de bezorgkosten worden dan te veel..
Hope your having fun knitting the Moby Slipover, currently knitting up the armholes and neckline so I can start finishing the body. Hopefully i can put up the video soon
Thank you for sharing your week, so fun. Your cat is adorable ❤

That is a super smart tip! Definitely going to implement in my next project, especially when it are a lot of stitches.

what size did you make in your cloud sweater? It looks great!
I made a size medium, however my gauge was off so it turned out as a small (measurements wise)
@@kimberleytjeerdsma thank you!! Did you size up in needles?

No yr not alone, sometimes it take only once to pick up right amount but feels like the most of the time it take half a day to make it right 😢😢
So true, managed to pick up stitches for my armhole of the Moby Slipover and unexpectedly I managed to almost do it correctly in one try.
@@kimberleytjeerdsma u r doing great job darling keep it up ❤️🥳🎉
