oh my god??!? 😭😭 I’m seriously soo honored to be included in this video AHHH ♥️🥹 I also wish you could read a 2023 fav so we could geek out together instead of being equally frustrated w Kathleen as a character HAHAH. what a fun video, looking forward to the favorites one!!!
I'm so sad Night House was bad! The description gave me "Goosebumps, but for Adults" and I was excited for it. Oh well, one less book on the TBR! ALSO, your library has a DRIVE-THRU?! 👀
Oh my gosh whaaaat!!! 🤯😍 I’m so honored to be included in this video, I’ve been watching your channel for so long, this is so exciting!!! 🥹😍 also hahaha I’m so sorry you had to read The Night House because of my video hahaha 😂 but I’m also glad you felt very similar to how I felt, that book is such a hot mess 😂
Jo Nesbø is one of Norways biggest authors, and he’s mainly a thriller/crime guy, most known for a long-ass series about a cop solving shit😅 Haven’t heard about this book though, so I did a quick search. Night house got five stars from a lot of norwegian papers. Our country is so small, I think the reviewers are scared they have to face the authors at a release party😂 Oh, and I found out the book IS supposed to be set in the 70’s. I hate settings from the 70’s. It’s too….brown🤪
My favourite thing is learning that a countertop dishwasher doesn't need a sink attachment, just a pitcher of water!!!? Where does this come from? I need all the details so I can maybe get one!!
Out of these three books, the only one that peaked my interest was The Night House. My library has a copy so I May read it at some point, but my expectations are severely lowered with how the book is written.
Haven't read any of those books, but I have read a couple of other books by Jo Nesbø and, unfortunately, the dated attitudes aren't unique to that book. A few might be the fault of things not translating well, but probably not most of them.
I love this video so much! I'm gonna read the second and third books in the Finlay Donovan series, so I'm really curious to see how I feel about them! Also, I love the snack time of your reading vlog! I wanna try those gummy candies! 👀✨
Thanks for the honest, thoughtful reviews. You are brave. ;) (The white peach candy is def, better than the watermelon. FYI, the lychees is also tasty.)
I feel like the whole Finlay Donovan Series would've been so much better if there wasn't any romance in it at all...even in the first book it was already annoying
The Night House is the first and only time in my life that I've returned a book to the shop and got my money back after reading it, because I was so pissed that I spent 12 quid on it.
I mean the Murder of Mr whickham, in it they talk about how homosexuality was a sin. But that took place in 1820 so thats understandable. Thats just the author writing things that happened and that were talked about in that time period. Highly recommend that book by the way. Jane Austen characters in it too
Hey jesse i just wanted to tell u ur my fav booktuber ur vids always inspire me to pick up a book. Ur absolutely amazing and i cant wait for the next one i wrote this as ik watching this vid best wishes and be safe ❤
You should definitely read cursed by Marissa Meyer soon! It is an amazing duology so good! If you haven’t read her other books you should definitely read them. You should read the renegades series which is sci-fi dystopian and so good! You should also read the lunar chronicles which is sci-fi fantasy and also amazing! You should also read heartless it’s a retelling of Alice and wonderland it’s so good but also a little sad. All of these are some of my top favorite books and she is a go to auto buy author.
I read a river enchanted and a fire endless 5/5 stars , I almost cried at a fire endless , Jesse thank you for convincing me to read a river enchanted and a fire endless they were so good
the dead romantics is one of my all time favorite books It hurt so much to hear that she has it in her worst books of 2023 video included aaaah pain :(((( florencebenji will always own my stupid little bookish heart hihi 💌💞💖
I hope it doesn’t come out wrong, but why put yourself through this purposely? I hate the whole “my worst books of 202-“ videos too. I’m super interested in people’s favorites, but I don’t need to waste time on the 1 stars. Just a thought.
0:36 Jesse collects Booktubers like Infinity Stones.

Oh hey I just subscribed to your channel 😁
i loveeee seeing some good library appreciation
Yesss ❤
I'm so sad Night House was bad! The description gave me "Goosebumps, but for Adults" and I was excited for it. Oh well, one less book on the TBR!
ALSO, your library has a DRIVE-THRU?! 👀
It seems interesting 🤔.
I once read a book that combined amnesia and time travel in the same plot so I know exactly how you feel when you say, "It feels like fanfiction".

I love your videos too ❣️❤😅
I have never seen a mini dishwasher like that. Very interesting
I literally had that same thought 😂😂
Libby is one of the absolute top tier apps to exist. Library in my pocket, yes please.
One of the best finds I found in the past couple years!

I love the idea that Norway is like highschool and reviewers are afraid to bad talk someone because they'll see them in the cafeteria the next day.
@@amandap7733 You’re on point! I just realized there’s no star or dice ranking in the papers here anymore. It’s just the written reviews. Wow😂
Looovveeee seeing some of my faves on one of my fave’s channel!😍
Nice to see Gavin featured here! He did a video on your first video.
I love his videos too 😅😊
Did I just see a drive thru at the library?!
I came to the comments looking for someone else to mention this 😂
So exciting to see you are familiar with Gabbyreads! You and her are my favorite booktubers! 😊
I love that you are using your library, that's so nice to see!
Complete side note: that Arkansas hoodie is great! Love the color and orange details.
These reading vlogs are always so fun! Also those shots you took of the snow falling were absolutely beautiful.
I love the element of having to find the books at the library dude it really is a challenge nowadays
I can never find the ones I want to read😢
My favorite thing about this video is finding out that a countertop dishwasher exists 😮
My favourite thing is learning that a countertop dishwasher doesn't need a sink attachment, just a pitcher of water!!!? Where does this come from? I need all the details so I can maybe get one!!
@@Abigael317 They have them on Amazon!
Love the hoodie! Hello from Springdale!
You have the best vlogs and the loveliest vibes, so comforting 😊💛
I’m sorry - is your library a DRIVETHRU?!? THATS SO AWESOME
I love how everyone seems to collectively agree that the Finlay series is going downhill but refuses to stop reading it 😂
I love when we get to see nature clips while seeing you read, reading outside is one of my favorites
u always bring up my mood and help me out of a reading slump !!

I'm not mad you're making videos about 2023. I still LIVE in 2023.
Aging out of YA is not going smoothly y'all😩
8:28 Fav clip from vlog. Also, loved the vlog. 💙
Loving all these vidoes! So glad i joinined your channel!
🖤🖤🖤
The little lego building scene so cute !!
Love watching Jesse trying to convince us he doesn't own a shrink ray.
Enjoyed this video! And that you use your library so much :)
I love that you do this without seeing their thoughts first!
Finley Donovan is alot like the Stephanie Plum books. You read them knowing that the plot lines are unbelievable but fun.
I love this video so much! I'm gonna read the second and third books in the Finlay Donovan series, so I'm really curious to see how I feel about them! Also, I love the snack time of your reading vlog! I wanna try those gummy candies! 👀✨
Hey, we’re all guilty of invoking the previous year. It’s ok.
Jesse, where can I buy a dishwasher like yours? You could give an affiliate link if you have one!
Imma need that dishwasher linked bestie
Yay! Library field trip!
god your library is gorgeous!!
Your library is so cool!
Thanks for the honest, thoughtful reviews. You are brave. ;)

Good to know I ain’t missing much with the Finlay Donovan series 😂 hated the first book and was curious whether the rest were better
I feel like the whole Finlay Donovan Series would've been so much better if there wasn't any romance in it at all...even in the first book it was already annoying
Im rereading once upon a broken heart im excited to read the once upon a broken heart series
Okay but now I want to try the candy…
The Night House is the first and only time in my life that I've returned a book to the shop and got my money back after reading it, because I was so pissed that I spent 12 quid on it.
Not Jesse "never" finishing a series but investing himself in one he doesn't like😂
There are 3(!) more Finlay books contracted after the 4th. So 7 in total. I was going to read the 4th but now I’m just like that’s too much for me.
Woah thats a crazy amount of books, esp since its all hinging on an utterly ridiculous set up. I feel like people will definitely tire of it by book 4
I enjoyed this cause deep in my heart I'm nosy AND petty lol I like the balance of talking and aesthetica
I mean the Murder of Mr whickham, in it they talk about how homosexuality was a sin. But that took place in 1820 so thats understandable. Thats just the author writing things that happened and that were talked about in that time period. Highly recommend that book by the way. Jane Austen characters in it too
Ya ive seen many saying they only liked the first one
I have never so far read any series that the squeals are worse then the first book, but I’ve not read too many books.
In the Finley Donovan series
Love Gabby's and Tia's videos 🫖☕📚🔖
Hey jesse i just wanted to tell u ur my fav booktuber ur vids always inspire me to pick up a book. Ur absolutely amazing and i cant wait for the next one i wrote this as ik watching this vid best wishes and be safe ❤

He actually has read TLC there are reviews of the books on his Channel from a couple years ago
the cover for Once more with Feeling gives me Jacqueline Wilson vibes >.>
also that peach candy is legit one of my favourite Japanese candies.
Oh No, The Dead Romantics was in my top 5 best of 2023 reads!! 🖤
Ok I actually bought the Jo nesbo book and now I don't want to read it. Oh well I guess the little free library it goes
25:24 Cute haircut
I also didn't enjoy Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun....BUT I will be reading the next book in the series 😅
I read a river enchanted and a fire endless 5/5 stars , I almost cried at a fire endless , Jesse thank you for convincing me to read a river enchanted and a fire endless they were so good
❤yay library ❤
the dead romantics is one of my all time favorite books It hurt so much to hear that she has it in her worst books of 2023 video included aaaah pain :(((( florencebenji will always own my stupid little bookish heart hihi 💌💞💖
The cutest boy
When you said montague twins, I threw up. IT'S SO BAD. THERE IS NO PLOT.
OOH, interesting! I disagree, I thought there was a pretty solid plot in my opinion.
I don’t understand why snow means you’re stuck at home? We get a LOT of snow here, but we just go on living our lives. 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe the event was canceled

It's just an experiment. Sometimes the worst books for someone are the best ones for you
Jesse likes to experiment more than me. I usually just stay away from one stars on booktube.
@@danid7367right. Ok. Maybe it’s because I spend money on books and I can’t afford to spend it on bad ones 🙃.
