Archon Theme usually has something associated with their region but Furina does not. It's all reserved for her Divinity side, Focalors. Fontaine Theme is also on 3/4 time signature which can be also called "Waltz-Time Signature". It was usually used for dancing in mid 18th century. How fitting for this final scene of the Hydro Archon! Overall insane writing with the music, as well as the story writing. Props to Hoyoverse and HOYO-MiX!
Fontaine relies on Christianity to make this saga. Furina is a human born of a goddess with the ability to walk on water and decided to bear the original sins of her people while the goddess (Foçalors) prepares a plan to end all this. Wriothesly is Noah because he is literally in Noah's ark to be saved from the flood prophecy. The prophecy is based on the great flood in the Bible so it's funny for me to say it but Furina is Jesus lol. I'm not a Christian but this made me laugh a lot.

The real hydro archon's final theme. Its just incredible. Furina and Focalors's entire story instantly became one of my favorites of the entire game. I can't wait to see later nations.
None of the gods deaths made me as emotional as this one. I guess it was because Makoto and Rukkhadevata were already dead, so Makoto's final send off and Rukkhadevata's erasure didnt hurt as bad (they still hurt and i got teary eyed at Rukkhadevata). Focalors made me sob like a baby. She deserved to merge back with Furina and actually live like she wanted to. People villainizing her for making Furina suffer completely missed the point that she bulit a machine to enact her death and watched as the sword got bigger and closer to falling for 500 years. The worst part of this scene is when she admits she's scared because it shows how much younger she is compared to the other gods.

Absolutely, the worst part was furina still sitting in the chair in the top of the opera, crying and overthinking that she would soon be executed for her crimes. Then to still be there when the water started to rise, waiting for the prophecy to become true. That saddens me. Furina is an amazing character that I grew to love over first meeting her and feeling off about her demanding voice, to hearing her real voice in the end of the story as to her mission to save the people of fountain.
My friend - if I could support this comment with more than a like. This is exactly what I feel about this story arc conclusion. Not arguing the sheer will strength of Furina and how much she had to endure. Yet let's not diminish the scale of Focalor's care for the nation and what an impossible weight she had to carry on her shoulders for more than half a millenia. She inherited the burden of responsibility for something she has not done. Yet was not seeking the wayout for herself but started looking for any possibility to prevent the calamity. Later Furina spent centuries doing exactly the same. Yet Focalors came to an understanding that only a masterful deceit culminating in her ultimate sacrifice could give her nation a chance. Hence she started the preparations: - initiated the construction of the Opera Epiclese (which - as I have noticed later from the opposite bank of the river - bears a clear resemblence of a guillotine - emphasizing the symbolism of the place) - created the Oratrice in order to accumulate and store enough energy to be sufficient for the final act - used a portion of the stored energy to power everything in Fontaine and bringing the nation to the forefront of all technological discoveries and breakthroughs in Teyvat - invited Neuvillette to take role of the chief justice to intruduce him the human population of Fontaine as conflicted and contradicting as it is yet under Neuvillette's guidence ever moving to a just and rightful life - separated her human part into a different entity creating a brand new human being in order to maintain the facade and fool Celestia; hereby denying herself the very experience of humanity which was the origin of creation of human race from oceanids by Egeria - for 500 years she was confined to the very place of her final dance separated from everyone and everything, day by day coming close to the finale I have not finished all the quests in Fontaine yet - therefore it is purely a speculation - but possibly ousia and pneuma were infused into the land by Focalors as well preparing the nation to the moment when indemnitium will no longer be available. With the above said - as much as I pity and admire Furina for her role in all the events for past 500 years. She at least got herself if not a happy end but full of hope for a brighter future resolution. Yet Focalors sacrificed everything to save her nation. Which is why from my perspective Archon of Justice delivered justice to everyone but herself...
I honestly don't think it's because she is younger. Focalors was at least as old as the nation of fontaine I'd assume. One of the original Oceanids to be made human by Egeria. She was promoted to Archon because her friend and goddess dies in Sumeru, then is promptly confronted with a problem not even her own creator had found a solution for which, she does find. So what does she decide to do? She splits off her own humanity. The thing she's always wished she could live as. Forces that side of herself to then suffer for 500 years and at the same time she locks herself in a glorified justice box become guillotine from where she is forced to witness every bit of pain that transpires in the court for the next 500 yeary. Every murder, every sentence carried out, judged essentially by herself, only to gather enough energy to kill herself. I don't think Nahida or Ei could do this and not be afraid of death at the end. I don't even think Zhong Li or Venti could do it. If anyone can it'd probably be Zhong Li though.
Archons only differ in their granted powers when compared to mortals. Ultimately, it is by the characteristics displayed by a mortal that they are selected to be archons. Characteristics that Focalors possessed, and passed on to Furina.
She technically is but isn't at the same time. She isn't because officially she's only a human. But she is because she's literally just Focalors without her God powers and immortality. Furina and Focalors are literally the same person, two halves of the same existence. One half had divinity, and the other half didn't.
Whenever the main theme of Fontaine plays from now on, It's going to make sad, making me remember this very cutscene everytime! Just like how "Riddles and Wonders" does in Sumeru... both even being part of the themes for main city area during the day I remember the days in Sumeru when I would go to convert the resin to condensed resin or other stuff and then tears start rolling over my cheeks, I just....stay there, doing nothing, the scenes playing automatically in my head, as if it happened yesterday and like I myself lost something very important...😢 Same will now happen in Fontaine, probably everytime I enter the city, and this is the theme that greets me! Why are some random group of pixels making my cry! 😭

I stayed there for an hour because the music was so sad and beautiful. It's kind of calming and I love it, it's full of emotion. One of the best themes I've heard in genshin.
I know this song was supposed to evoke the appropriate sense of resignation and melancholy to fit the cutscene. But the more I listen to it, the more I see the scene in Focalors' POV. Fontaine quest, in my opinion is by far the most emotional, most beautiful archon quest I've ever went through. The scene where Focalors dances as the blade falls down on her........... Gave me chills.
No matter what anyone says focalors was themost lovely archon of them all among the ones already came, got one scene in whole storyline and she stole all the people hearts.😢

this archon quest was absolutely amazing, it was beautiful. even got me teary eyed towards the end, most enjoyable time i've had in this game. also this theme is so nice, lots of different feelings. i loved Furina's theme but this just makes me feel more. i really love this game.
When Inazuma came out we thought that nothing can be better than this right. They proved us wrong in Sumeru by releasing even better storyline. And then we were ready for a equally good story in Fontaine. But they even broke that limit and went twice as hard. We also got the first vocal song. Honkai and Star Rail has had them but this is a first for Genshin.
U should check on the Lumidouce harbour theme in day time, its gorgeous!! Hope that place get's involved in some future patches so that everyone can go visit that area and listen to another masterpiece!
Spoiler for fontaine archon quest act 5 "The God of Justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods. But even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine." When you even managed to trick the teyvat chapter storyline preview. Focalors, the only archon who challenged the heavenly principles, and won. Our respect will forever be with her even in death. Furina, the greatest actress of teyvat, who single handedly shouldered the burden of maintaining a 500 year long facade, fooling the entire nation, all for her people, Albeit a human, you will always be the hydro archon in our hearts
it's so heartbreaking in hindsight to think about how Furina was waiting for the final dramatic trial that would save everyone and free her and every time that wasn't the case she was immensely disappointed....
If you think about it, Focalors is less of Furina's "divine old self", and more of her daughter, seeing as she not only doesn't share Focalor's Oceanid nature, but not even her memories either; This is somewhat similar to the relationship dynamic of Raiden Ei and her puppets, or Rukkhadevata and Nahida. She then retreated into the Oratrice, one of the two maximum symbols of Justice, the other being the Iudex, a position occupied by Neuvillette at that moment, and one that is still his to this day; Because Justice is everything in Fontaine, the two were, in human terms, Queen and King of the nation, respectively. It's worth noting the "hive mind" mentality of the Oceanids, something shown in the disappearance case trials. Focalors didn't simply represent Justice and Hydro, but also the yearning to take the mantle of humanity and the romanticism of humans, be they from Fontaine or somewhere else (or not even human, i.e. Melusines). This humanity is what Neuvillette ends up "falling in love" with; In other words, he ends up learning how to love all the people, and that's why even though the individual romanticism of humans is something he doesn't quite get, he's still deeply saddened by having Focalors, the personification of the desires of many people, die in front of him. Two other neat details about this 3-person Opera: 1- By pushing the responsibility to take care of the eternal teenage girl to Neuvillette, Focalors made it so he became the girl's adoptive father, inhuman as he can be. 2- Furina is naïve and doesn't get romance at any, but her Constellation names appears to point otherwise. Maybe they aren't a reference to herself, but to the bizarre dealings between Focalors and Neuvillette. Because both aren't human, you can't say for sure that there is any romance like we know of it. But IF they were human at any, that would be the direct translation of their relationship.
BTW, I love Hollow Knight, and this whole thing reminds me of the White Lady and the Pale King. SPOILER In especial, Furina's Constellation names appear to me strikingly similar to how the Vessel we control obtains and wields the "Kingsoul" charm, which is basically the wedding band of the White Lady and the Pale King... And they are the parents of all the Vessels.

When Inazuma came out we thought that nothing can be better than this right.
They proved us wrong in Sumeru by releasing even better storyline.
And then we were ready for a equally good story in Fontaine. But they even broke that limit and went twice as hard. We also got the first vocal song. Honkai and Star Rail has had them but this is a first for Genshin.
No, we had one for Yunjin in the interlude
Inazuma storyline is still good I guess I mean it's still better than sumeru , mondstadt and liyue for me .

Furina finally got that twist she wanted in the end.
it's so heartbreaking in hindsight to think about how Furina was waiting for the final dramatic trial that would save everyone and free her and every time that wasn't the case she was immensely disappointed....

If you think about it, Focalors is less of Furina's "divine old self", and more of her daughter, seeing as she not only doesn't share Focalor's Oceanid nature, but not even her memories either; This is somewhat similar to the relationship dynamic of Raiden Ei and her puppets, or Rukkhadevata and Nahida.
She then retreated into the Oratrice, one of the two maximum symbols of Justice, the other being the Iudex, a position occupied by Neuvillette at that moment, and one that is still his to this day; Because Justice is everything in Fontaine, the two were, in human terms, Queen and King of the nation, respectively.
It's worth noting the "hive mind" mentality of the Oceanids, something shown in the disappearance case trials. Focalors didn't simply represent Justice and Hydro, but also the yearning to take the mantle of humanity and the romanticism of humans, be they from Fontaine or somewhere else (or not even human, i.e. Melusines).
This humanity is what Neuvillette ends up "falling in love" with; In other words, he ends up learning how to love all the people, and that's why even though the individual romanticism of humans is something he doesn't quite get, he's still deeply saddened by having Focalors, the personification of the desires of many people, die in front of him.
Two other neat details about this 3-person Opera:
1- By pushing the responsibility to take care of the eternal teenage girl to Neuvillette, Focalors made it so he became the girl's adoptive father, inhuman as he can be.
2- Furina is naïve and doesn't get romance at any, but her Constellation names appears to point otherwise. Maybe they aren't a reference to herself, but to the bizarre dealings between Focalors and Neuvillette.
Because both aren't human, you can't say for sure that there is any romance like we know of it. But IF they were human at any, that would be the direct translation of their relationship.
BTW, I love Hollow Knight, and this whole thing reminds me of the White Lady and the Pale King.

In especial, Furina's Constellation names appear to me strikingly similar to how the Vessel we control obtains and wields the "Kingsoul" charm, which is basically the wedding band of the White Lady and the Pale King... And they are the parents of all the Vessels.
This song's title needs to be "A God's Last Dance" 😭

Die Musik ist so schön, aber die Story dahinter so traurig 😔. Fontaines Archon Quest, ist mit einer der besten. Akt zwei war ziemlich langweilig, aber die anderen danach einfach wow. Außer das Gefängnis, ich wollte danach, da nicht mehr rein xD
