As a beginner recorder player myself (been playing for like a year), i've got to genuinely say that it's probably not the most underrated instrument in the world, but it definely makes it to top 5, they're hard to play at the beginning if you've got poor finger coordination or something, but if you ever get the chance to play a nice song on it, in some quiet place like your backyard when you're just by yourself, you're in for a good time
