Garcia (Remixed) is a genre-defying dance potion crafted by LP Giobbi, a forward-thinking, boundary-breaking artist disrupting dance music today. A Deadhead herself, this isn’t her first drop of Garcia’s inspiration. Originally scheduled to perform at Playing in the Sand earlier this year, LP Giobbi pivoted after its cancellation to showcase her “one-woman jam band” talents virtually. In February, she live-streamed “Dead House” with all donations made during the event benefiting the beloved Rex Foundation.
In the spirit of traveling into another world, we brought in our new friend Young & Sick to reinterpret the original cover art designed by Bob Seidemann. The full album will be available on January 20, 2023.

It's not as bad as some of you are saying. It's still Jerry's melody for the most part. He would love the interpretation. To him it would sound 'weird', which is a good thing.

This is a ‘pass’ for me. But I respect the effort and the attempt. Jerry was a 1/1; he can’t be remixed. Hearing this makes me think “nah, turn this off and just put on the real Jerry”. He wasn’t the best at what he did; he was the ONLY one who did what he did.

Jerry wanted to continually progress as a musician. Always trying out the latest guitar gadgets from NAMM looking to expand his soundscapes. But the deadheads kept him on this endless nostalgia that eventually killed him. I think he woulda dug it.

The Grateful Dead is the most successful cover band that ever is. The fact that She can mix his voice with the transition into Deep House is radical.

Calling them a cover band is a bit myopic. Sure, they played a lot of covers (so did the Stones, REM... hell, half of Zeppelin's catalog were covers they just claimed were their own).... but the Dead ALSO have one of the largest and greatest original songbooks of any American band.... surpassed perhaps only by Dylan and Brian Wilson. Maybe Tom Petty.

As a guy who has seen the dead in the 90s who later got into raves and dnb after. I can't stand this. Some things dont need to be redone. Just leave it alone. As a producer I've thought many times of sampling the dead, I'd never try to put their lyrics over my music though. That's not cool imo. Also the song doesn't go in key with the lyrics at all.
I think Jerry would be all over this. He would have loved the dance scene and sample culture

I don't listen to the studio Deal so this absolutely doesn't improve things at all. Only the 80s live versions with the rocket solos at the end cut it for me.

I don’t think any of us can speak on behave of Jerry. Things are always going to be explored to its full potencial. Just like they were ahead of their times back in the day and other didn’t agree with the new music I think it’s only fair for the wheel to keep rolling for good or Ill

The Dead never played a song the same twice. Jerry would've loved this. It would've just been another way to hear these masterpieces. Obviously, Bobby feels the same way. They've cosigned what LP Giobbi is doing here
