I saw him in spoken word concert in 2012, during the three-year Christchurch quake season, then again with my girlfriend about a month ago. Amazing how he can talk for two and a half hours straight
There are no bad TOOL songs and that is the absolute truth! I'm fortunate to have seen them live 3 times post 10,000 Days Release and I can say those concerts will stay with me forever! Nice reaction, especially since you took the time to listen to it in context of the track listing on the album! Back when albums were meant to be experienced and not just milked for singles, Undertow is one of those that just hits hard and profound just like Maynard's last soul wrenching "DEAD INSIDE!".
I first heard about Tool, way back in the early 90's on a late night MTV show called Headbanger's Ball, definitely not showing my age there lol! It was essentially love at first listen. I have never actually gotten to see them live. I have however seen A Perfect Circle live and Maynard killed it! The closest I have ever gotten to see Tool was back in January of 2016, they were coming to Nashville, TN, my wife scored us 2 tickets and it snowed almost a foot of snow the night before... Needless to say, we didn't try to make that 30 mile drive so late at night with just receiving that much snow. If you know the south, we typically don't get more than a dusting of snow and even then, we pretty much shut down because we aren't "accustomed" to driving in the snow. I still have the tickets, somewhere lol. Great breakdown! I really appreciate your positive vibes to such an amazingly artistic band! You have earned my sub!
Tool is just….just 🤔….so F•CKIN good! 🤤if I was in a band in 93 when this came out I probably woulda quit because I mean…..come on,just listen to them 🖤& they only got better after this 😳
I recommend becoming a Tool Army member and you get first crack at tickets for concerts. The last Tool concert I went to on 02/19/22 I bought VIP tickets through the Tool website as a Tool Army member and got 5th row center section floor seats ticket was reasonable priced and included a collectors box with Tool goodies and a tour hooded jacket, plus you get early entry to the concert which is pretty much the only way to be able to buy a signed concert poster by the band which I took advantage of
This was always one of my favorite tracks from this album. Tool does actually have some tour dates scheduled. I believe they are kicking off a tour in Louisville KY sometime in September and touring through December at least.
imagine discovering tool in 2023.... man I miss those days. But loving your reactions. If you are looking for the most insane Tool song you will ever hear look up Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned (my all time favorite Tool song).
I recently learned to play Bottom on bass. Trust me, from where I started playing guitar and bass guitar to playing a Tool song on bass and play it good, I know you can learn to play guitar as well. Just keep practicing. Frustrating it will be but keep practicing. You rule 🤘🤘
Tool is touring this fall. Already got my ticket. I don't know if they're playing in your area but you should definitely go if you can. They are a experience you will never forget.
Yes! Came to post but didn’t want to repeat. If you don’t mind going to a festival you CAN see them. I do mind so I’m waiting for them to headline on their own again.
Carina Round - “On Leaving” Carina Round - “The Last Time” Puscifer - “Green Valley” Live (Violator Mix from Parole Violator) Puscifer - “Grand Canyon” (Live from Billy D and The Hall of Feathered Serpents) Puscifer - “Horizons” Live (Violator Mix from Parole Violator) Puscifer - “Galileo” (Live from Billy D and The Hall of Feathered Serpents)
Adam is palm muting some of those notes so they don't ring out while laying down some very clever rhythmic picking. It's an especially prodigious and tasteful choice, given how it is laid over the rest of the band's music. But that is to be expected, given Adam's background as a special effects artist/enigeer from Hollywood. He plays his guitar like he creates art; in other words, he plays like a true artist.
So people have said in the past that they prefer Paul to Justin because their favorite album is undertow. What they fail to realize is Paul usually just plays with exactly what Adam was doing and then sometimes slapping or Palm muting D. When Justin came along, he added a whole new complex dynamic. Undertow is satisfying to listen to because Adam Jone’s playing was enhanced by the bass doing the exact same thing. Undertow is a great album, but pales in comparison to the rest of their work. IMO
I totally understand this view! Paul is heavy and yes follows along with Adam but I did notice that Justin just like Adam will branch out and create some really unique sounds out of his bass! So mind blowing 🥰🥰🥰
Henry Rollins with the spoken word breakdown!!!
Ahhhh that makes me love the song even more!!!
I saw him in spoken word concert in 2012, during the three-year Christchurch quake season, then again with my girlfriend about a month ago. Amazing how he can talk for two and a half hours straight
This song kind of has a Black Flag post "My War" groove
I saw the Rollins Band and Henry Rollins in a small club in CT called Toads Place. I was not worthy. Saw Tool 9 times and APC & Pusc once
That makes 3 bangers in this video
“Unbelievably stupid fucking good” was a great line lol Imagine having that song played throughout your life for the last couple of decades.
Legend has it Rollins lost playing poker with some of the Tool guys. His spoken word part was paying off his bet!
Oh shit is correct! Lolol the body language and facial expressions says it all.... Excellent! Made my day!
Awesome reaction to a great song. Danny’s drumming sounds good but the bass work by Paul is absolutely incredible.
Wow - that was really cool, Sky! Rock onnnnn...! 🤘😎👍
This whole CD is full of bangers.
There’s not a single song that requires skipping on this album & 30 years after 1st hearing it it still sounds just as good as it did in 93 🖤
Damn girl great reaction! This is Tool raw and unreal! Glad you liked it!
I see u have la sexicsito devil music vol 1 on your wall and I knew I would love u ❤❤
Wow sky looking amazing
Alright I don't care, I'm gonna say it. This song is theee most smash that headboard against the drywall Tool song out there.

Obviously that's just your opinion, because as much as I love Tool there's a lot of songs that I just find a noise.
DAMN..that purple lookin good
Love this reaction so much!!!!

Paul went on to play with MINISTRY. ✌
Oh did he now?!
Tool is just….just 🤔….so F•CKIN good! 🤤if I was in a band in 93 when this came out I probably woulda quit because I mean…..come on,just listen to them 🖤& they only got better after this 😳
Best band in the world.

Just another smoking hot reaction SKY! KEEP it up my dear!!
This was always one of my favorite tracks from this album. Tool does actually have some tour dates scheduled. I believe they are kicking off a tour in Louisville KY sometime in September and touring through December at least.
Paul’s harmonics are so cool between the chunky riffs. Love the Tool reactions Sky, you have to see them live!
A couple of things just outstanding, and the song is also perfection!🔥

You should check out the live version with Zack de la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine. Very powerful performance.
Tool is on tour this fall starting in early October in Indo California

They are headlining on their own this fall. I'm seeing them at Mohegan sun in Connecticut on Nov 10
Awesome!
Henry Rollins is intensity. The entire concept as one person.
Oct 7? In Sacramento. Tool live
Great reaction! This album carried me in the 90’s!
Paul is currently with Jourgensen's Ministry
good guitar track for ya to play along to Sky! First lesson 😉
DAMN NICE! Anyway, I lOVE this whole album! Great song! Dave Mathews is also great in this jam!

The album is three decades old
And ages like fine wine
Well done.
...and Crawl Away is basically Nugent's Stranglehold with different lyrics

Did you end up going to the recent tour. It was great!
I DID!!!
Best song on the album!

Watching to the end see if she says "Henry Rollins"
😊
Henry Rollins is da shit!
Did you give up Token ?
Never lol just didn’t do it in this vid the music was too good and I forgot hahah
Are Ya Winning Son?
Seems Paul was unwilling to put in the work to be the greatest that came later.
Where's your clothes?
You’re so beautiful
I'm not getting the big deal with Tool? I have listened to multiple songs by them and so far, I think they are overrated. just my opinion.
all of you are living vicariously. something very against the philosophy of Tool. You arent true fans.
...............tool army est.1993............tool army est.1993................tool army est.1993.................tool army est.1993..............
hey, please don't ruin that "Beautiful Skin " by putting horrible "TATTOO'S." on it..
❤
