    0:27 - Practice introduction
    1:02 - Start of practice
    3:30 - In-practice coaching
    5:54 - End-of-practice review
In this coaching course filmed exclusively for CV Academy, and before he left to take up a first-team coaching role at Standard Liège, Yaya Touré took his Tottenham Under-16 players through a series of practices designed to develop their understanding of in-possession principles.
This excerpt comes from the second practice, which is an 8v4 possession game played in the centre circle. The in-possession team of four, plus four neutral players, look to keep the ball against a pressing team of four. It is a high-intensity practice designed to improve players’ awareness, pass detail and use of both space and overloads to maintain possession, and gives a great insight into the coaching style of a former player who operated at the very top of the game.

I mean, Tottenham does have some of the best training facilities and some of the best prospects around (which all leave to other clubs for obvious reasons). Yaya is also one of the best midfielders of his era and played under some of the best coaches for very different styles. I hope this bodes well for the future of Tottenham as a football club and Yaya as a future manager (whether for Tottenham or elsewhere tbh), he used to be one of my favorite players in an era where everyone was only looking at 3 midfielders.

Sounds like a very amateur coach who the players respect because of his playing career but that doesn't tend to last long.

Wouldn’t call it amateur but yes very little detailing and coaching points. Demonstrating is a big part of coaching youngsters.
