I happen to have one of the "elusive" Silver Sparkles ! I hunted for one for AGES ! ahah But the White/Black one was also one my watchlist if I didn't find its Silver Sparkle version. These guitars are absolutely amazing ! I love it so much I bought a RRXT24-7 and got it refinished in Silver Sparkle to have another Matt Tuck Flavoured Rhoads when I need a 7 strings.
Yeah I love those silver sparkle ones. Now that’s interesting about your 7 string, As I just bought the RRX24 MG7 and I really like it in Matt black, as I’ve always fancied one of the black versions of the MT rhoads and I does look similar… BUT, you’ve got me thinking now haha.. it would look killer in silver sparkle!
After watching this, I couldn’t help myself. I decided to make a video on my Paget ESP Signature guitar :) Just uploaded it. Thanks for the inspiration!
sounds great brother. i really dig the way you play bro. very kickass and stylish. im guessing your a Randy Rhoads fan like myself? anyways peace out brother.
Thank you so much man! Yeah I love Randy. I don’t think guitar playing would be where it is today if it wasn’t for him and we wouldn’t have guys like Zakk who is a massive influence on my playing. Thank you again for your kind words! 🤘🏻🎸
@@nihilist92 god damn, lucky guy. I've been on the hunt for a Matt tuck Jackson or a Paget ESP for a while. Do you have a suggestion of a guitar that would be similar in sound/looks that's a bit more easily available? Thanks
@@Will-uu8ed yeah I had no idea at the time how rare these would become! I’ve always fancied trying to find a silver sparkle one but they’re just impossible to find these days! In terms of a more affordable similar guitar I’d definitely check out the Jackson Js32 line. I believe they do a white rhoads with black bevels similar to this and it’s only around the £200-£300 mark I believe. The guitar player from Gojira had just brought out a signature Jackson rhoads too which is nearly identical to this guitar but just doesn’t have the front pickup (which is imperative for me) so you’re not getting quite the same thing. I hope this helps!
@@Will-uu8ed no worries man and thank you for subscribing! I like to do a lesson video on each bullet song I do cover of nowadays so I’m really glad you like the one of SAF. I’m also glad it was easy for you to follow so thanks for the feedback!! Just one other thing too, talking about guitars earlier.. The esps that Padge ended up with as a signature guitars were actually based off of ex Dave mustaine signatures before he moved to Dean. They’re pretty much impossible to find these days but I’d recommend the Dave Mustaine signature VMNTs 100% if you like that big V shape. There’s a few out there now even though he’s moved to Gibson.
Matt Tuck is a lighter player, light touch. I saw him during the First scream aim fire tour where he played his Jackson signatures and Zakk Wylde Les Pauls... he threw his pic... a regular orange Jim Dunlop Tortex, VERY thin but playing this style very quickly sounds really thrashy and nice.
How do you find the upper fret access with only 22 frets? I am so used to 24 frets and I play a lot of things like Dream theater, Sylosis, Trivium etc and use the upper frets all the time. I currently have an ESP 24 fret Flying V as my main guitar and I am thinking of picking this up as a second guitar as there is a used one selling for a good price in my country atm. Will I hate the 22 frets? Or is it pretty good up there for access? I am not concerned about having the 24 fret to hit on the guitar, but the thing is when you have 24 frets, it means the frets from like 15 - 19 are way easier to hit as they are further down the neck. I'm worried that the 15 - 19th frets will be harder to hit as a by product of having less frets on this guitar.
Hey man! First of all, well done you for finding one of these things as they’re so damn rare now! So I’d snap that thing up and buy it regardless as it will be really tricky to come across another! The first thing I’d say is that each guitar has a different feel and guarantee this guitar will feel so much shorter than your 24 fret ESP. However with getting used to another guitar and finding where things sit positionally kind of comes with the territory regardless of that you buy - so I’d say buy something you like 100% and feel that you can work with. I would 100% recommend that you arrange to go and play the guitar even if it does mean travelling a little. This will not only determine whether you like it or not but whether there’s anything wrong with it being second hand n’all. It’s important that you spend as much time as you like playing it (within reason 😂) and you’re 100% happy with it before purchasing. One last point I’ll make as well as far as the fret access goes.. regardless of the number of frets etc there really is nothing stopping you getting high up there as there’s nothing at all in the way body wise, so access to those upper frets is super easy. This is my go to guitar when it comes to tracking solos for videos on my channel. I hope this helps! 🤘🏻
@@nihilist92 Hey man! Thanks for the detailed reply! I sadly wont be able to play in person as it is 10 hours away and our country is in lockdown so I can't get there anyway. I decided to buy it anyway as I can always onsell if for some reason I do not like it. I did have one more question. My current guitar has a 14 inch radius and I use VERY low action. The Jackson has a 12 to 16 compound so Im just concerned that the higher radius near the nut means I will have to have the action higher than I am used to which I probably wouldn't like. Is the difference rather minimal? Can you still get SUPER low action with this guitar? Cheers!
@@liammcknight3845 Ah man, Im made up you've bought it and I hope that you really enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine! I’ve got one of these in the silver sparkle love it would swap it though for the black with silver sparkle if I could, also I see that you have the bc rich I also have it 😂 I think out of the two the Jackson plays better but the bc rich sounds better
I’m quite jealous that you have it in silver actually haha but I do like my white one. Out of the BC and the Jackson I’d always go with my BC and yeah it sounds better like you said. It feels more substantial when I’m playing it too which makes the Jackson feel a little delicate these days. But my Jackson is definitely my go to guitar for leads etc 🤘🏻
