Moved from a gang infested area where people would get arrested from drugs and violence all the time when I was a kid in the 1990's. My mom decided to move me, my older brother and her to another city in the Bay Area like 45 minutes away in the Easy Bay Area. I went through the same thing growing up when it comes to living in a suburban city and not having enough money to do things like every other kid that lived in the area. Went to a high school where a celebrity donated $1,000,000 to help build our school gym in the 1990's. My single mother could not afford to give me anything to do anything growing up. Missed out on doing a lot of activities, out of school that my friends went to. Didn't go to Junior or Senior Prom because both cost like $300+ each just to go to either prom and couldn't afford to go. Both Prom's was at a Hotel in San Francisco. Some of the kids at my school were like 16, 17, 18 years old coming school driving nice expensive cars. Meanwhile I had to walk or take bus every where I wanted to go to in the city. I had friends in high school , but it felt so awkward growing up being in a city where none of your'e friends can understand what you are going through. With most of their parents are wealthy and my mom was not wealthy at all.
Wat a beautiful soul. Alcohol is such a mind F when u live with someone with this disease n especially when their a mean drinker. My mother was one, coming from a family of this disease my stomach would turn on the days ik my mother would have her two days off from work. Ik I was going to walk into something n a lot of the issues with her alcohol had nothing to do with my sister's n I but she would take it out on us. She would also embarrass my sisters n I n she was abusive but she did get sober n quit. God bless Trinity u are not alone.
My pops was a alcoholic and he missed everything. I left home at a young age to attend highschool. He wasn't around but my mother made every effort to do both.
Personally I mean this fr as a U.S. women's soccer fan when I think of Trinity I don't even think of Dennis, like I LOWKEY forgot he's even her dad. But thats a good thing because it shows how much of her own identity she created. ❤️
Dennis Rodman’s IG response to this interview was a lot of deflecting. “Sorry I wasn’t the father you wanted me to be” and wishing his kids called him and came to see him. Dennis doesn’t get it.
That’s the typical response for a lot of men who do this. My father had the same sentiment and I haven’t spoken to him or seen him since I was a child.
She clearly wants a real relationship with her father...Dennis is Dennis...She might try to reach him more even if it is painful because Dennis childhood and is life was not easy.
No, he should reach out to her more. He’s a grown man. HE is the father. Yeah he had a tough childhood but as a man if you had a terrible father/absent father growing up, you should be 100% there for your kids. There’s no excuse, especially when you’re a rich and famous basketball player. Unfortunately, people like you are the reason why this cycle repeats because you make excuses for grown men who need to do the right thing. I would never do this to my kids and I didn’t have an easy childhood. At the very least, be there for them financially. I hope you don’t have kids and think it’s ok to do this to them.
Trinity, please don't listen to anyone telling you to hate your dad . Trust me he's your dad and no one can't replace him. Try to find away to work things out with him!
I had/have a bad relationship with my father but this girls mother is also to blame. Her mother should have educated her about the world and her father. There’s fathers who beat, rape, and criminally neglect their daughters. Dennis did none of that, yes he was a divorced, bad father but the fact that you have a break down every time he’s around means you weren’t emotionally trained to deal with divorced parents. I’m not sticking up for Dennis but there’s literally millions of worse dad’s out there. The mother, Dennis, and daughter should sit down and iron it out.
Just to go further my mother dealt with my bad father one way and my other siblings mothers dealt with his absence a different way. My mom told me straight up, your dad is a selfish, street dude, he doesn’t hate you, he just too childish to be a dad. Don’t expect nothing from him, but when you see him, respect him cause he’s responsible for your existence. So that’s how I treat my dad, I don’t love him like a dad, but I respect him, and he’s actually a cool dude, but he also is everything my mom said he is. On the other hand some of my siblings mom’s taught them to hate him, and made it hard for him to see them as kids, these women bad mouthed him and constantly asked him for stuff he couldn’t provide. So now some of my siblings want to kill my father, treat him like ish. And I understand but really there’s no need for all of that, that’s some of their mother’s anger, not totally theirs.
Great point. Her mom messed up in several ways. First of all, marrying and bringing children into the world with someone who was known to be unstable and had a messed up personal life. Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson couldn't control Dennis. Chuck Daly, one of the best NBA coaches of all time, couldn't control him on the Pistons. Madonna and Carmen Electra... what made her think that she'd get with him and he'd be Father of the Year? And to your point, why didn't she prepare her kids for the divorce, get them therapy for the trauma they were clearly experiencing being estranged, homeless, etc. Trinity has some issues she hasn't dealt with. It's obvious. Her mother should have done more to help while Trinity was young. This isn't Trinity's fault; this mess is on both of her parents.
Mixed feelings about this. As someone who hasn’t kept in touch with my immediate family in years, part of me goes this is the dark reality of life. It’s not as devastating once you’re an adult and have your own life to worry about.
Why is the child always making excuses for parents who just waltz in and out of their children’s lives? It’s ok to not feel love or have any sort of feelings for someone who puts no effort into having a relationship. You have every right to be angry. The best way to deal with a parent who jumps in and out of your life is to ignore them. You are living your best life. Don’t let him take that away from you. He doesn’t deserve your tears.
I’ve served Dennis Rodman in Houston multiple times and ran into him at many of bars and he indeed has ALOT of issues. Walked out on his tab, didn’t pay, didn’t tip. (-: he needs help fr!
I am not going to go in lots of details but your mom is your mom and your dad is your dad I'm pretty sure a lot of people have not talked to their parents for years and years and years because of arguments or family stealing money and outside it happens But you get over or try to get over it
Sounds like the only positive thing he did for her life was pass on his athletic genes. I think her mum was also an athlete but his innate athleticism was insane. Props to her for how she’s handled their interactions. Hope media give her the respect she deserves by not referring to her as Dennis Rodmans daughter.
So Dennis Rodman wrote a book circa 1997, with him on the cover, naked on a motorcycle, then going on Howard Stern talking about his marriage to Carmen Electra, dating Madonna, then all of that her mother still wants to be involved with him?
You just answered your own question. Madonna and Carmen wanted him. Why wouldn't her mom? He was in the prime of his looks, celebrity, and aura. The rich, bad boy archetype that all women desire. It's not rocket science.
@waynegreen7970 Certain things are biologically hard wired. Most women grow out of that phase due to the instability and emotional unavailability of the bad boy. But in their youth, the combination of rebellion, money, and fame is typically too stimulating for them to pass up.
@@DannyDoGood to @waynegreen7970 point, I don't think anything at all about Dennis Rodman screamed "responsible and caring, would make a great father one day" lol. He was one of my favorite players as an athlete, but even I knew as a kid that his personal life was eff'd up. Rodman get's blame for being a bad dad, but Trinity's mom should get some for not choosing a better person to procreate with.
I had a father who was a doctor with his own practice making him several hundred thousand per year for decades. SAME story. He didn't do much for his kids when my folks were married and ZERO for us once they were divorced. Literally disappeared. My mother had to sue him constantly to get the COURT ORDERED bare minimum child support. He even got locked up a few times over non payment. He still didn't give a shit. Meanwhile, he's rolling around town in luxury cars, living in high rises, etc. Look, some people are all about themselves and in their mind when the relationship with the ex-spouse is done, so is the relationship with the kids. High income does NOT mean good parent. or good person.
What a babe! It sounds like Dennis loves her but doesn't know how to love. If she wants a relationship with him, she had to take the parental role and constantly check up on him, because he's a mess.
Why does the public need to know this? Gossiping about ones father if you can't change it is very disrespectful. It is using his fame to create shame. These things should be shared and dealt with professionally.
Girls react differently from having an absent father than boys. This why I make it my duty to be in my daughter’s life. I would hate for her to feel how she is towards her father🤦🏾♂️🙏🏾🥲
While...I've met him he's very... Brain rotted and I understand generational trauma, my biological father randomly showed up to my graduation it was infuriating. And a lot of MFS saying their mom's turn children against their father's some do but most do not. It goes for mother's too. Any parent who is absent and makes half ass attempts to be in their kids lives just is contributing to the trauma
She needs to just put the anger aside and just heal. If Dennis is reaching out to you and is sincere then repair the rift and have that daddy/daughter relationship.
1 Timothy 5:8 states, "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever
She is a pro and did interview about her dad most of the stuff is from years ago I don’t think she hates him but I don’t think she is luring just using it to control her story nun wrong with that
Maybe he thinks you hate him and doesn't think you want him to be around. It hurts more than just about anything else in life if there is a reason you think your child doesn't like you. And he obviously had a very difficult childhood to have lived the life he has and to have tatts all over his body has he has. Having had two psycho people as parents who both beat me was fucked and it influenced me in some extremely negative ways. My father was a great guy when he was sober, but he drank every day and when he drank he got extremely violent. I don't know what your father went through, but it is obvious that he was deeply affected by it. He is really doing the best he can. He probably has no idea how to be a good father because he never saw one as he was growing up. Perhaps you should tell him what you would like him to do. It sounds like you have expectations about what a "good father" should be and do and when your expectations aren't met, you become upset. Perhaps telling him the type of relationship you would like to have with him would help.
I don't care what happens in the families. Your family is your family, your mom, your dad, your mom is your mom. Your dad is your dad I have a couple people friends in my life. What? From the Foster care and some other parents got the kids at 6 years old and then they get mad at them when they are. Teenagers are early twenties and then they say to them you're not with my real mom. You're not my real dad Yes they are. They're not blood but if they had you at a young age like six to 5 years old until you are 20 or plus they are still your family and they're still your mom and dad I don't care what happened in your family circles. They are still your parents you should love them and care about them. Who gives a s*** what happened Even violence it sucks violence but they're still your mom and dad I wish some people told me some stuff when I was younger about my family and love them more before they're gone or tell them you love him. Be further they're gone. Give him a call

The concept of Rodman only ever having flip-phones is wild to me
Why? You have white hair... You do realize that people only had cell phones ubiquitously starting around the year 2000, right?

So many absent dads out there not realising their children yearn to get a relationship with them.
It’s not that they don’t realize, it’s that they don’t care.
@@kycone I think he realize because he had the same situation
Dennis Rodman’s IG response to this interview was a lot of deflecting. “Sorry I wasn’t the father you wanted me to be” and wishing his kids called him and came to see him.
Dennis doesn’t get it.
That’s the typical response for a lot of men who do this. My father had the same sentiment and I haven’t spoken to him or seen him since I was a child.
She is so pretty and well spoken. I had a father just like hers. Heartbreaking.
Dennis is a man of peace.

Did she express all this to him in that conversation? She also stated he calls, "Does she ever call him?
When was she suppose to express this? When she was living in a car? When he was partying? When he was moving states without telling her?
She just said he calls and she doesn’t answer .. so i guess she doesn’t really want to resolve nothing.. just cry about it on social media for views.

Very beautiful young lady and so talented god l hope they become close god bless her
She clearly wants a real relationship with her father...Dennis is Dennis...She might try to reach him more even if it is painful because Dennis childhood and is life was not easy.

I don’t think people are telling her to hate her dad, they’re just sympathizing with her. Dennis himself admitted he hadn’t been a good father.
She does love milking that last name. Such as double standard by her.

Couldn't find this Pod to save my life, the algo had me fenced out
Why is the child always making excuses for parents who just waltz in and out of their children’s lives? It’s ok to not feel love or have any sort of feelings for someone who puts no effort into having a relationship. You have every right to be angry. The best way to deal with a parent who jumps in and out of your life is to ignore them. You are living your best life. Don’t let him take that away from you. He doesn’t deserve your tears.
I’ve served Dennis Rodman in Houston multiple times and ran into him at many of bars and he indeed has ALOT of issues. Walked out on his tab, didn’t pay, didn’t tip. (-: he needs help fr!

@@DannyDoGood Interesting how you phrased that. "The rich, bad boy archetype that all women desire. "

Well, I can't say I'm shocked Dennis Rodman didn't wind up a less erratic Dad in his daughter's life.

No surprises here. He been crazy 😂
If she said he was a fantastic dad that would be the real news.

Beware of people who air private business publicly. Never trust them. All would-be suitors should steer clear.
There is something diabolical about getting behind a mic to bash one of your parents.
While...I've met him he's very... Brain rotted and I understand generational trauma, my biological father randomly showed up to my graduation it was infuriating. And a lot of MFS saying their mom's turn children against their father's some do but most do not. It goes for mother's too. SHE SO DAMN PRETTY
