@@kfelix2934 Yes, most do have the lock. My highway patrol interprets CFR 393.130 to require the boom down on the trailer and chained. Even if it is under 10,000 pounds they still want it chained.

That’s too cold for me! I’m not built for that… I have dug my fair share of stumps by hand it’s a miserable process.

why secure it from the boom and not the actual tie down point?
Thats where I felt like hooking it up for my mile and a half drive back to the house.

In my state the highway patrol wants the boom secured so it does not rotate to the side. I secure the boom along with the factory tie down points.
@@robb1165 Most of these devices has a lockout pin for transportation. It will keep the upper carriage from rotating
