Hello, I am Adam! I am Head Brewer at Cartridge Brewing outside of Cincinatti, OH. I am a former high school and university educator, and I have been making beer for a living for over a decade. My goal here is to give a behind-the-scenes look into the craft brewing industry, and to share any knowledge I have. I am not the perfect brewer, but I am always pushing myself to get better and to learn more. I have an amazing team behind me, my Assistant Brewer, Maggie, and Josh, our cellarperson and packging lead. Our goal in the brewhouse is to always aim for the bullseye, knowing we will never hit it. That mantra keeps us focused on continual growth, and helps us appreciate the journey of improving as brewers.
Hey! I’m a clinical laboratory scientist and use hemocytometers every day - normally we count both chambers A and B and take the average so it increases the accuracy of your count. I would also recommend using isotonic saline for your dilutions instead of tap water! Overall impressed by this video and helped me learn :)
Thank you very much!
Out of all the counting videos I looked at today, this is the best one! I am always having trouble with yeast samples having too much gas and my first dillution would always be a pain, never before thought of measuring by weight, cheers my man
I appreciate the kind words!
You have shown some very important and valuable knowledge with practise for all the brewers, I really appreciate this work .
Thanks.
Thank you!
Thank you from Switzerland Adam ! Your video is just what I looked for!! Great job
Thank you so much!
Glad to see QC in brewing, few.
Another great video! Keep it up!
Hi. What zoom level are you using with the microscope?
Alex from Imperial is going to be pissy when he watches the video and sees the Omega Yeast hat hanging on the wall.....just sayin! 😄 Great video and super helpful as always.
Haha!
yo man, love the content you've been putting out. Please check into your microphone set up. Your voice is getting blown out big time
Will do!
Hey Adam. I think there's an editing error at the beginning. Part of the video is repeated.
Pro tip on using the disposable transfer pipettes when trying to transfer something thick - cut off the end with a pair of scissors to make the opening bigger. (I work in Pharma and at one point had to test creams)
Yeah I have a bit of a loop up front. Sorry about that. I will do that in the future! Thanks for the tip!
Also I think i fixed the loop!
Hi adam made beer🎉
Hey there!
@@adammakesbeer I really like the video showing how to count yeast cells that you shared! But there is something I don't understand that I hope Mr. Adam can answer: I want to know what is the dilution ratio of methylene blue dye and water? And what is the name of the methylene that Mr. Adam uses? Where can I buy it?
Link to Imperial yeast video? Please :)
