You made 'em ALL sound terrific... I wish i could have listened to more of that lovely voice... BUT.... The WA 251 shined thru beautifully with your voice... that would be my pick!
the wa 251 was the perfect blend of clarity and smoothness unlike the overly clarification of the OC18 which was too perfect and like most time true perfect is harsh as none of us are perfect
Warm audio 251 is amazing! Use it more often then the u87 in the studio! That says something! Buy it 👍
Wait soooo what compression setting was the Hype MiC on or was it on at all? Cause that would make a HUGE difference! Also the WA sounded amazing!
Just to point out, the first three are almost twice as expensive as the HypeMiC and Stealth. Also compared to the others, the HypeMiC adds an audio interface, low latency monitoring, pre-amp and it's the ONLY USB mic in the world with onboard pre-AD compression. Wins on value and tech HANDS DOWN!!!! Of course if you have a giant studio setup and want a $600-$800 mic the first three sound amazing. But if you are looking an all-in-one mic with incredible value for money and quality to boot, HypeMiC is the winner.

@@justinleeportland Thanks for your comment. Sponsored wouldn't be the right word exactly. I am on the Apogee Support Team, which I do say on other posts I make on this screen name often. I also helped design the firmware for the HypeMiC. However the facts I stated above are still the facts. The other units are analog microphones, not USB ones with built in audio interfaces, so there is tremendous value for a customer who doesn't already have an audio interface they want to use. If you already have an interface, then HypeMiC is not the product for you, you would want an analog mic like the others in the video, or your preference. This is the same information I would give you if you wanted to email me with pre-sales questions. That being said, I am also a professional sound engineer with my own studio, and I was quite interested in the OC-18 after watching this video, for use with my other Apogee gear at home. That mic looks pretty killer, but again, not talking value, but me being a person who would and has before spent upwards of $1000 on a single microphone, because, well, I'm a tone-whore, why else would I work at Apogee? ;) So definitely not trying to mislead you, just give you all the information and facts about our product, and a fair comparison to the others. I’ve had the Apogee hype mic for the past 2 months recording my music on an iPad because I didn’t have a laptop. I thing it’s great for the price a bit peaky when recording on the iPad but still pretty good for singers trying to create. I recently got a laptop (yesterday actually 🎉🎉) and I’m waiting for the antelope audio edge go to come in the mail this week. I definitely have that mic as number 1 because of its other mic emulations. Dope review!

I have to agree. It has the right combination of being clear, smooth, detailed but not too crisp, neutral and natural. Voice sounds very musical.
