When mum is in the channel joined by beautiful Kitt, its a PhD class 😍
...hear! hear!...couldn't agree more. Nice to know am not in 'my' own world..I have identified a lot with this topic.
Masterclass per excellence!
I agree😍😍
Ikr
Agreed!
Apondi: So Mama Kendi
Kitt: Yes Mama Kitt
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can we have am AMEN 🤩❤️🥰😍😍🥰 I have this conversation countless times everywhere I go! In the UK where I live, it is the obsession with Mrs so, and so 🙃 🙄🙄 Then when I came to Kenya, it is Mama so and so..... I had had so many debates with my peers in Kenya when they dared to question my reasoning and alluded that I am not proud of my marriage/ child!!! Having a child and being married is not AN ACHIEVEMENT!! We can be proud wives and mothers and still stay true to our individual identity! Thank you, Kitt and Apondi, for making this clear..... Hope everyone watches this video, I will certainly save it and share it 🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
Afriend of mine opened my eyes to the reality of children knowing everyone's names beyond the uncle titles she says incase of abuse a child is able to say which specific uncle did it
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
The written version of this is a whole book, a real masters thesis
Apondi came to serve wisdom in Fendi sunglasses! Love it!!
She came to serve us wisdom..l like
Sure, you are complete just the way you are! Your identity is not measured by your marital status, motherhood, job title or social status! Thanks for this topic Kitt! I truly admire your entire family!
This reminds me of "THE RIVER AND THE SOURCE" Akoko was always known by her name
I totally agree with you
I agree...
Yeees
This book helped me name my now 5 years old I felt she was a phenomenal source AORA and for sure she is, my river and mr source
A great convo. Another thing...... as a mother of son with dual citizenship, i have just bestowed my son Kenyan status with a Kenyan ID with details from village yes!
I love how aware emotionally and mentally your family is✨
I love listening to Apondi speak. She's that one person you want to listen to all the time. She also says those words I have always wanted to say but lacked courage.
Bless her!
Its your mum's smile for me kwanza when looking at you. Dont we all love this gem
Mommy must bottle the African butter that she moisturizes with because WOW ma'am ❤️🇿🇦
It is already bottled. Buy Ka'an by Tawi shea butter 🥰
love this!! totally.
Apondi is literally Kendi's twin. I love it when she's here. Much love mum❤️
Wow!wow!Apondi is looking dope.Pass my regards to her.👌👌👏👏👏👏
Oh Gosh! I love your mom. She is kind of the woman I grew up wanting to be like.
One would give a pass on your mom for Lupita’s mom 😋😉
I was thinking the same....but she is the Auntie so it's okay
Exactly
This is exactly what I was thinking while watching the episode 😀
@Grace Gathu ☺️😊
@k. k. Jey 😊☺️
The loving and respectiful relationship between you two is what keeps me glued on top of everything else.
How can I like twice❤️❤️ ..rich content 💯💯
The number of finger snaps, number of yes’, moments of ‘aha’, on this master class, Wauuuu. Mum and me segment changing mindsets one generation at a time. Yaaaaas!
💕💕! Love love and appreciate this conversation. I remember requesting my parents and siblings to continue calling me by my name after I became a mum. For some reason I felt like that mama.... was creating a distance between us and forcing an unexplained expectation on me. I am a proud mum, but I am first Me. ( I hope I don’t sound crazy 🙈)
You sound real. Please do keep it up.
You sound perfect 🥰
Ata mimi nikikataa. Don’t forget me.
Especially when your siblings call you mama so and so the distance steps in and the pain is strange and unexplainable
@@apondinyangaya6610 yes! Yes! Yes! Oh how happy I am to hear someone echo my feelings precisely. So I wasn’t hormonal or losing it. Thank you 🙏🏾.
Better late than never!
I can never miss such wisdom.
It's so interesting listening to this contrary to how I was brought up, that a grown up would be addressed not with their own name..as they are not your age mates, (we were told
Love the discussion. I remember being admonished for calling family members by their name. Apparently Africans see it as disrespectful and yet the same people will admonish you when your children don't know your name!
Master class 👏 🙌 👌 💪
Wow!
I never miss uploads especially with Apondi on the thumbnail 🥰🥰she speaks so much wisdom💕🥰 My cup of coffee ☕️ is ready
I need my own Apondi...witty,funny,with it,brilliant!!;
Kitt you're such an inspiration to our generation...Good work
I can't miss the wisdom that comes from apondi, much love mum
Amazing and enlightening video 👏
The word née is from the French word naitre (to be born). In your case it would be Kitt Kiarie née Kitt N. "Whats in a name?" would also be a good title for this video 😀 Loved every bit of it.
Awesome, when Mrs Apondi is on channel we know it's gonna be lit and there is no holding back when she is here
Never thought of calling myself Mrs. So n so but Mama Jael, guilty as charged! What an eye opener
I dnt like being called Mrs as much as I am married. I really hate it. I really hate titles. Even on job application I dnt indicate it. Kwanza za gava always insisting on indicating titles. I cant stand it.
WOW WOW !!!😲😲
Very sobering discussion
I wish I would give these video 10 like love the Apondi
It’s crazy how I click soooo fast when I see Apondi. This was such a necessary conversation!
How can this video reach ALL women? So much wisdom!am glad i introduce myself appropriately....
Did anyone see Apondi's skin?the glow!
Wonderful content, Kitt! Also Kendi is Apondi’s twin, surely.
This 2 women together make my day.. they say as it is
Kitt your skin is liiiiife
Thank you 😊
Kate you are blessed to have Mama Apondi as your mum.She is our mum too.Her wisdom overflows.I learn alot from the two of you.
Thanks
*Kitt (not Kate)
Happy to be back here...Apondi is full of wisdom and Kitt you are a power house...just realised Keyo really resembles you esp the side view..ofcourse Apondi and Kendi identical twinsies
I really like the title of this video 😍😍😍😍
Getting me a snack for this
This is so true. Even the Samias called people by their name. We called our grandmothers , Kukhu Perus, Kukhu Jessica. She also did not like her children to call her mama they called her by her name Perus.
I am khayo, and we do too call our grandmas and grandpas and aunties with their names
I love your vlogs.Your mum is a sweetheart and I know we will meet in this lifetime☺
I loooove this topic. Could we talk about the truth which is that most ladies introduce themselves as mama xyz, or Mrs abc or Dr/teacher... because that is where our value is. Most of us aren't addressing ourselves by our names because we're not proud of who we are or don't want to face who we really are because we're not happy with who we are (yet?). Sometimes you want to hide behind the title because the alternative is 😭😭😭😭😭😭.
🥂 to embracing being enough as I am. I am me😍
Looking forward to your next video!
African culture is very interesting 🥰
I am so happy to be here..got here through Caroline Mutuko's page from a program Mummy's Rice. You guys r amazingly. Great ur doing this with ur mum Kit..such a blessing 🤗
This is a very interesting discussion. Some years back I found out I did not know some of my Auntys’ names because they were ‘mama so and so’. I made a decision never to be mama so and so. I am proud to be a mum but that is just one out of many identities I have and I didn’t want it to take over all other identities. I can’t imagine introducing myself as mama so and so. Lol!
I love how you ALWAYS introduce your mum as Apondi.
The conversations that I enjoy, thank you for changing the RUclips space...
I love the deliberate titlling of Mrs.. and Mama..
Packing my bags apondi wisdom is worth every day on my way, this wat we call content kitt ur a good changer
A Much needed conversation. Its ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and i have always said so. Thanks for raising this because I am sure it will stimulate similar conversations in women circles.
I enjoy the conversations you bring on here.
Great to be here...didn't know that like is important too..good stuff
Every girl must listen to this. Great content Kitt
Wow wow so relevant...sometimes I find it difficult introducing myself especially when people expect me to have changed my last name after marriage
Me when i see kitt mum ....yieeey .Thank you mama kitt you really make us better people.
Am in class already 🖐👍with a notebook and a pen . Love you
Your mum is such a vibe n ave learnt something new today 💕💕
Apondi is full of Wisdom.❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Preach! I refuse to be called mama so and so. Or bibi ya so and so, and I have had a few people correct me and I tell them eva came before this two.
I truly believe your lineage was born before it's time.
We're ahead eh? 😅
Far ahead...
I TRULY feel the same way too.🙌🏾
😃😂😅
A dose of sarcasm from Apondi to balance things out 🤣🤭
I really appreciate ur channel because there's something to learn in every session...bless you!
Your Mum's sunglasses 🔥🔥🔥and Kitt's hat🔥🔥 love this topic
May we all age like Apondi...fine wine they say 😍😍😍😍
You make my Monday mornings Kitt. Keep the fire burning.

Mrs. Nyangaya and Mama Kendi 🤣🤣😁👌🏾
Awww I loooooove this conversation!!!! I feel like giving u a loud speaker 🔊🔊, The issue of men and society demanding/coercing women to change documents to bear their names😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴hapo ndio unajua some men are possessive 🙄🙄🙄when u insist on who u are, u are branded, considered rude etc but I am glad I learned this so early!
THE MASTERCLASS!I love it!❤👑👑
You too are so beautiful and wholesome😍❤️

not disrespect

Thaaaannnkkksss. On both fronts
Wow!you have spoken to my ❤️.
This is pure wisdom. I love your content Kitt and Apondi.
'marriage is not an achievement!' Iwish the older generation would understand that so that they STOP pressuring younger women
😍😍😍
Your videos are always such an eye-opener. Thank God for the day I discovered you!!
I grew up calling my aunties & uncles by names-and my mom taught us this..i.e - uncle Nick, Aunty Terry.
Kitt, you are one of the youtubers I look upto. Especially as a woman and an upcoming youtuber, you inspire me. I love this video.
Finally found my tribe of people. Am Kikuyu but still introduce myself as Nyambura not mama... or Mrs...... Actually I don't wear my wedding ring 6yrs down the line, cause I just don't like jewelry and people still remind me that I 'need' my "marker" so they know where to place me😏😏
