Selecting DMR type BM, DMR Master 3021 CA I'm not able to get logged in. I'm using Version 1.0.0.9499.. Thoughts? Example I can hear conversations on 310 using the hose, but when I attempt to select 310 in the software I get nothing.. I've tried selecting 4000 and then re selecting 310...
Thanks to Doug, KD8YVD for sending me his notes on the defaults he uses for his setup page. Here’s where I went wrong.. Following the great video by M0DQW he talks about changing the DMR password from passw0rd to passw1rd. He says this is because he is selecting the Great Britian 2341GB brandmeister master. I missed the change in password because he was connecting to the 2341GB Master. Thinking it was a default security step you had to initiate, I made the change.. .. However, for United States hams, if you select one of the US Masters or the Canadian master “ 3021 CA “ (that’s what I’m using) you need to not change the password and use the default passw0rd. Doug, KD8YVD, you’re my hero! Dan WW3N
I ordered a DVstick 30. Before starting this installation scheme, what shall we do ? Just download and install "BlueDV for Windows" onto Windows10 PC ? Thank you in advance for your comment.
Cold not initially get ThumbDV to connect to software. Updated the FTDI drivers in my device manager/USB serial port/ comport properties/ driver/update driver. Boom.
I set it up just as you were doing in the video but 1. Does not go to dmr when I touch the dmr button, or does it go to dstar. in fact when i turn it to serial it complete freezes up and wont do a thing. any body help. So far about 5 hours in and does not work with a dvdongle from nwdr.
Great video thanks! I'm only using a DV Mega Uno (the one with the green box) which doesn't have the AMBE, so following your video managed to login to Dstar and DMR but can't "key up" to change reflector, I'm guessing this is where I need to use my radio
It looks like my Dongle and the software are later versions. In DMR section setting DMR+, PhoenixF does not exist. I assume then set to IPSC2-PhoenixF. The default reflector does not exist as a setting. Watch the Baud rate on my dongle set to 46800, not as this video. However, this video helped me get the basics working.
Hi ive just purchased a DVMEGA DVstick30 ive followed these instructions but the software doesnt see the stick upon load up windows 10 assigns a com port etc but when i load software it will not see the stick is there a certain usb driver it requires rather than the stock windows one ? regards
Very nice presentation, and sufficient for me to purchase the dongle. But that is where I've run into the wall. I have the BlueDV Windows AMBE3000 SW loaded and set up per your instruction, but unable to get the drivers to load. Any advice?
Well, you got me going on this digital lark. Had no issues with Dstar, finally got DMR+ going but can I hell as like get BM running? Has a error 9123 and does nothing. Anyone any ideas?
Does anyone know how to add a repeater to the Ref list in the software? One semi-local DSTAR repeater is in the list but my local repeater is not there. I'm not sure where this software pulls its data from. WinDV has the repeater but it is not operating on one of my PCs. A fellow ham sent me a link to BlueDV so I thought I would give it a try. It works on that PC but I can't find the repeater I want to use. Using the ThumbDV, I'm limited on software.
In case anyone is wondering how to this for their own set up, look in your Documents/BlueDV folder and open the DPlus_Hosts file. Add your repeater where it goes in order, and use the website URL or IP address. This makes it usable on your computer. Here is REF006 as an example: REF006 ref006.dstargateway.org It was pretty simple once I was told what to do. The header of the file contains an email address to email changes to so when anyone downloads that file from the server, they will have your repeater in the list.
Are these USB non radio dongles still available? I like this idea since the dongles that includes a radio interface has very low RF power. looking to purchase but the link for these is dead. Thanks
I am trying to setup DVMEGA DVstick 30. Ports(COM & +PT) do not detect like "USB Serial Port(COM3)" on my Windows 7 PC. The PC shows "FT230X Basic UART" with alert mark. How can I fix this situation ?
Unfortunately I do not have a DVStick to test with, hopefully someone else here may have one and provide assistance. I'll try and obtain one to do some setup videos soon. Thanks...
it could be your USB port. i was having the same problem (no firmware), then i plugged my (DV3000) dongle into a different USB port and it works! i think my left side port is USB-2 (good) and my right side port is USB-3 (bad). I may have that reversed but my dongle is working now after changing USB ports.
@@TechMindsOfficial many thanks for your reply. I tested but it can listen only one talk group at a time. Not like DMR that we can add multiple talk group to receive group and static talk group to brandmeister. And listen that all talk group same time. Or I miss something please suggest.
My dongle does not show the firmware version after detecting on COM9 (other two ports shows unable to open) for example. There is nothing after version. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
@@colereeder2782 Very nice. I may try that, but so far just Parrot. In my case, lack of active QSO's and not that reliable for when needed to use. Thanks a lot for the tips.
you forgot to add the com port setting for the dongle has to match the setting in Device Manager under properties. I am surprised yours worked as most comports are set to 96000.
I had it working for one day. Came home from work and it hasn't worked sense. I have installed it on another PC same problem Not recognizing the AMBE 3000. I shipped the ambe back got a new one still same problem. I have ran out of ideas on fixing this. I guess I'll send it back and count it as a loss cause.
Tech Minds I tried it. I was just hoping I did something wrong in the configuration but I’ve found no indication anywhere that would insinuate it can be used. Thanks.

If you are using the DVStick30 (the dvmega Ambe-stick), make sure to select 460800 as Baudrate!
Very helpful, concise, to the point. With new install of hardware and software, this vid got me "on-the-air" within minutes. Thanks, 73.

I just bought on from GigaParts (Feb 2022)
Could you add ThumbDV to the title and description as the setup is the same?
Hi John, thanks for the comment, I will look into this and update as required. Cheers, Matt
Does this have to be the dongle you mentioned or will this work with Rasberry pi too? Thank you.
A dongle is needed for the transcoding, ie converting audio to digital.

Does the AMBE 3000 stick support c4fm with the BlueDV Software?
At the time of owning this it did NOT support C4FM or YSF reflectors. I’m unsure about the current situation.
Can we listen multiple talk group like normal dmr radio ?
Sure can, just select the talk group etc. You can also try the Peanut app.

My AMBE3000 seems to be very fussy about the USB it's plugged into. Once I'd moved it around I found a slot that worked ok.
