From an ancient Chinese historical book titled "Zibuyu" 《子不語》or in English, "What the Master Would Not Discuss", various topics of ghastly nature were discussed in great detail of demons, ghosts, and other terrifying legends. This song illustrates a chapter that describes a malignant spirit with origins in Hindu mythology.
The spirit takes on the form of a bird; dark and ominous, often residing in deserted graveyards where large amounts of negative Chi amass from the neglect. They desire nothing more than to bore out the eyes of living people, for what purpose is unknown. In the book, one such example involves a spirit that took the form of a young woman on her way to marry her man, only to attack the couple while they were unaware and took out their eyes before flying away, leaving them to live the rest of their married lives unable to even see each other.
One has to wonder, was this done out of spite? Why would it go through the trouble of coming up with a ruse to attack a newly wed couple for their eyes, instead of simply anyone else it could have preyed on instead?
#chinesemusic
The story of this song is about a bird called Raksasa, she saw a bride was getting marry so she camouflaged to the bride, when they arrived the bridegroom's home, everyone was surpised that why there were two brides on the wedding, the greedy bridegroom wanted them all so the Raksasa ate this newly-wed's eyes.
My English is not very good, so please forgive me (*^▽^*)
Raksasa in Indian/ hindu mythology means the orthodox people or alternatively a specific group of demons.
Why she ate the bride eyes?
@@yiyichen7844 pretty sure she meant the grooms eyes but idk
@@yiyichen7844 I assume both bride's and groom's

what instrument is this? it sounds so beautiful
its so captivating
@@theluluexpress8528 its Guzheng, a Chinese instrument. But the backstory of this particular song is from India.
I've got a question: Is this music created by this person 渺螢, inspired by the theme of Zibuya? The feelings in this song doesn't seem like horror or scary like what's been described in this story. It sounds like an elegant and graceful traditional dance music, with no element of horror. I really like this song, but if it's equated to horror, I don't think so....
The tune is created by 渺螢 and the original song is ruclips.net/video/6eyiVWmWIwg/видео.html. The horror is partly because of the suspense in the song, the backstory and the singer.
This is a very late reply; the Zibuyu is a collection of short horror stories-one of them is about the Rakshasa Bird (罗刹鸟). The original creator of this song has a tradition of posting folk-horror related compositions during the start of 中元节, which occurs in the month of July in the Chinese lunisolar calendar. This song was as such inspired by the legend of the Rakshasa bird.
♥️♥️♥️Love From India
I think this is a fusion of chinese culture and Malay Nusantara because the music has the sound of a typical Nusantara cultural music. Plus raksasa means Monster in Melayu & Indonesia
Don't nessarily think so, even though it is possible? I mean the concept of a raksasa is an influence that stems from hindism both influenced both China and nusuntara. Just curious though since, I also like to hear some traditional Malay music what part of the song sounds like music melayu? I wasn't really able to hear it :)
@@laicus5082 The rhythm when the piano (was it piano?) starts coming in at 0:13 and when the guqin starts coming in at 0:27 but it especially the piano part. And yes, I guess there is many possibilities as many cultures intertwined with each other back then. We can never be certainly sure where else the ancestors of each culture has ever walked but yeah, everything is possible.
@@sarahabba5841 Ahh, thank you!! I think I can hear it now. Thanks!
@@sarahabba5841 I think this reminds you of Nusantara because of how the strings are picked and sounding like a Gamelan? Pretty sure the ones played in 0:13 are pipa and guzheng tho... but 0:27 idk because I've never heard of low and dull notes from a guzheng before so I'd agree if you say it's guqin 😯
Gonna add more comment because as an ignorant Indonesian I've only found out how a kecapi looks like and it's literally a guzheng 😂 so yeah, it sounds like a Nusantara because it's played using an instrument both culture uses lmao but the original song sounds entirely chinese because the string doesn't echo like a gamelan, so- yeah
Dang, I didn't think your music could still get better
This music is pure magic. Dark one :)
Best music i've listened in a really long time ! 💝
somehow the theme is like a traditional arabian music lmao and god give me goosebumps at the end
It has some vibes yeah although it's clearly Chinese.
i know its not and ofc its chinese but somehow i feel like its arabic sometimes
during China’s Tang Dynasty (one of the golden ages) middle eastern style music influenced some aspects of Chinese music due to cultural exchange so i can see why you’d think that!
The Raksasa originates from Hindu mythology so I assume there’s the South Asian influence.

Japanese music copied from ancient Chinese music (Tong style )

Is the instrument Chinese koto? Because it sound like Japanese koto
it’s Chinese guzheng, japanese koto is a version of guzheng

Skin akin to jade and hair as if long black silk strands. She was indeed a captivating beauty. Anyone who met her grey mysterious eyes could only surrender to her allure.
The first lady of the Yan family was the most elegant and beautiful woman the world had ever seen. But her charm defied her heart. For it was pitch black.
She was born once again for nothing but to lead this dynasty to destruction. She had her desire engraved in her heart since long ago.
The heart that was once filled with hope and purity had long fallen into the deep abyss of despair. She who was once the bright moon which bestowed happiness upon others now led their souls to depravity.
To make them the same as her. For their souls to learn hate and only hate and to forget love. For them to give up hope, to give up light and only live in the darkness.
Led to darkness, they would be weak. And controlled by her, they shall do her bidding.
The ones in darkness shall live empty and in destitute. But what if it's no longer her who was living in darkness, but darkness who resided in her?
And so she shall master the darkness itself then.
The border between darkness and light was still vivid. But the line between good and evil was since long unclear.
The dynasty was evil but so was she, who gave up love and light to attain her goal. She who was dyed in blood and hate from head to toe.
The dynasty was good but so was she, who wanted to end the tyranny once and for all. She who lost everyone but her goal to have this empire be virtuous again.
But when the time was right, she shall stand high and watch them crumble away. And when it happens, her heart shall attain happiness once again.
She shall be the saviour who ended the tyrannical dynasty. Or would she be the fox spirit who lured the virtuous dynasty to destruction?
The boundary between good and evil might forever stay unclear.

Its nice but if you could remove the reverb-like sound or the echo
pretty sure the reverb sound is actually generated by the instrument itself
@@xiaonile it is :) you pluck the strings to get the sound, and when that happens it vibrates causing the “reverb” you hear.

I have not listened to a lot of authentic Oriental music, but this in comparison to what I have listened, feels a bit... Western? Just the row, easily predictable beat and melody sound like they came from a generic pop, mixed in with well known Oriental musical elements and instruments.
Nevertheless, the piece does really sound good, and gives quite a solid mood of it. Nicely done instrumental. Definitely putting it into my playlist, just doubtful on the authenticity of the piece.
Keep on finding these good juicy stuff, love it🌹
It is similar to the Arabic melody of Ramadan.
