Thanks! I've really been liking the taste of peated whisky lately. In fact, I picked up my first bottle of Octomore today. This will test my opinion for sure.
I got a bottle of this as a gift from my daughter's boyfriend. Enjoyed it very much. Very refreshing, pineapple does describe the fruitiness of it well.
How did I miss this video?!! This is by far my favourite Offerman edition! This is my favourite distillery and I can never go wrong with a Lagavulin! Ardbeg is close behind. Yes I hate that they chill filter and add colour - unacceptable. But this is a distillery that I adore!! Terrific review Peter!! Cheers!! 🙂
People mention that distilleries can have a certain "profile" and they can tell what they are tasting based on that profile. I think Lagavulin can be put into that category. I don't know if it's my favorite, but it's up high on my list.
@@whiskeyisajourneySo I opened my bottle and it’s as good as I hoped! Wonderful smoky scotch, well balanced. I don’t regret buying it at all, and I had a very good discount on it 🤑
Thanks! Much appreciated 👍 I'm trying to improve each time. In the process of getting my proverbial RUclips legs underneath me! I struggled with my next video, but it's going live tomorrow (Friday Nov. 4th). Thanks for the sub.
Without doing a tasting side by side I would not be able to give you specific notes, but my memory tells me that I like the 16 more than any of the Offerman Editions.
@@whiskeyisajourney Yes. You can give me standard Whisky and I will like it. Something about the flavor in scotch is just to harsh. Burns more for me going down as well. I'm more of a person who drinks smooth whisky. I love top shelf cognac. Louis the 13th is an example for the cognac. For whisky if I'm feeling cheap I can chug southern comfort right out the bottle with no issues. The after taste of scotch can make me feel sick as well.
Big fan of this one especially for the $80 we got it for. Smokey grilled pineapples for sure with great balance and consistency. Great review!

I think all the Offerman editions have been good and the pineapple note is in all of them. Cheers.

Solid production value relative to your subscriber count. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! Working hard and the subscriber count is trending in the right direction lately. 📈
Beautiful whisky. Just enough smoke and character to have a spot on my shelf. Cheers!
I've enjoyed it as well. I look forward to having more each time I teach for it. Cheers!
Got a bottle for Christmas. Not quite as genteel as the 16, but very, very nice.
So far I have been a fan of all the Offerman editions. Cheers!
im in nys and got this for $55. really enjoying it.
Good price. I like this edition the most. Cheers!

how would you like this over the 16 ? the 16 in my area is 99 and the offerman is 89,

@@whiskeyisajourney thanks for the response, i feel the same , i just bought the offerman just to collect and taste
46% is indeed the magic number
I thought so. Thanks for verifying. 👍
I tried this and I thought I was drinking diesel fuel.
Well that's not good. Do all peated scotch give you the same reaction or just this one?

Ron F**King Swanson!
I have to watch this show. I feel like I'm missing out on something great.
