Good hunt! I thought the first hole was going to be destination China, Lol, it was that deep! A few good coins there Paul! Awesome, thanks for sharing! Look forward to the next hunt! GL & HH
:) thought a kangaroo would jump out of that hole with the copper wire :) You found a few coppers as well. Good hunt but bit different to Bournemouth :) HH Mal
That coil goes really deep. It finds stuff ... but does it (CTX) say junk or not before you dig it :) It is really not for (trashy) beach. Standard coil is OK for most of beach digs. Few nice old coins after coil change. GL&HH!
simon upton I don't really use much at all, I've found it looses depth, the only real time I use it is if I'm coin shooting so it's 80% select targets, but for depth less is better.
paul ceehaving never used a minelab what i think im finding strange is just how much of the screen do you eliminate for iron etc or do you do air tests to get the settings ? its alot harder than my atpro to get my head round
simon upton yes it's a big step up then from an at pro... what I can say is that if your detecting on iron infested sites is that like the at pro in is it all metal mode? The Ctx will hit on targets in iron infested ground and recover quickly, plus the benefit of the target trace on the screen is also very helpful as it can show multiple targets together.. And hearing the good signals with the iron... it does take some hours and frustration to get used to using but the rewards for patience, on pre detected sites are good if there are still targets to be had. Are you in the USA or the uk?
A few is better than none mate :) Ive linked your channel on the drone forum Paul, lot of detectorists on there too it seems so you may get some visitors here, hopefully someone nearby with a drone :) Cobs
hi paul thinking of buying ctx 3030 but as never used a minelab before its a bit worrying, cant understand the disc pattern screen i.e 1 to 35 & 1 to 50 etc any help would be appreciated
Hi Thanks for Watching.. To Be honest the only time you need the screen is when your setting up programs and testing, it does take some learning but, if you kick start in a simple tone mode probably 4 tones and then as you use it and get used to the machine you can fiddle and tweak..

no it doesn't tell you its junk before you dig it that's up to you whether or not you dig what its telling you, I dig lots of junk throughout the day
It is always our job to decide ... it can tell it is copper or aluminum - and not iron
thank you for the reply some of the screen disc patterns ive seen on forums look s like an 80s computer game
