The old Delta Forces games, before Black hawk Down, were very impressive military sims. Their shooting mechanics are still bar none. Every rifle's bullet pattern was mapped out immaculately. This new iteration is graphics over simulation.
It's sad to see a childhood game franchise being revived into such a zombie "Nobody remembers" Well, it's no surprise, it has been dead for 25 years and been surpassed in every way numerous times, even by the early farcry games

Meh, it's fine. "So far" it hasn't shoved its cash shop and pass in my face, so it's still head and shoulders above the pile of other f2p things i've played. Lots of stuff to customize and unlock, handful of different maps, gunplay feels fine, it's all just "alright", checking off the boxes and doing a lot of basic things right that even BF2042 mucked up on launch. Though i'm not exactly giving this game glowing praise, it's just that the quality of most other fps games have sank so low over the years that "mediocre" is the bar to clear these days to stand out. We've reached the point where if your large scale multiplayer game actually works on launch, you're already doing better than most """"AAA""" titles.
Idk that I agree with that, but it's a fair point. I think having enough modes and (decent) maps, and the gunplay feeling crisp will give this one a long life. I can't compare with the more recent BFs and CoDs cause they haven't really interested me for years, maybe safe for BFV, but it's been a better experience than all the other shooters I've tired ove the last few years.
Indeed, it might not be great but compared to the (shit) competition that costs a full 70 dollars...I would say they're equal. Especially if you just play it like me where you just want to play a round or 2, why would I even care about the shop with such low play time.
I really love Delta Force. It's way better than BF and the monetization isn't in your face at all beyond one initial screen. It's snappy, fun, and oozes atmosphere. I'm really enjoying the extraction mode, too. It's too bad you didn't think so. My friends and I are having a lot of fun. It really does a great job with both game modes.
J.R.R. Tolkien provided an excellent definition: evil lacks the ability to truly create-it can only pervert or corrupt what is already good. They corrupt and ruin games by buying out studios, and when they attempt to create something new, we end up with this...
Only wish they didn't have classes there other than that it's very good and it's a FREE game instead of trying to scam out of you 100's of dollars every major patch.

I'm not defending EA or DICE for the monstrosity they called BF2042, but people who criticised that game for being awful and the biggest disaster on the Battlefield franchise history are also praising Delta Force to be the new "Battlefield Killer", but knowingly it is the exact freaking game. It's basically just Temu 2042.
Unironically DF is way better than the slop BF2042 is. Even now, almost 4 years later they haven't fixed core issues like terrible input in a shooter and never forget the abysmal launch it had.
I mean… the game plays better than 2042… Gunplay is much tighter and better feeling than any BF I’ve played since BF4. I hesitate to say but it even feels less floaty and has better feedback when it comes to actually shooting at enemies than BF4 does…
One of my biggest issues I had with 2042 had to have been the gunplay feeling so bizarre; recoil felt slow, fast, and delayed all at the same time. This Delta Force's gunplay just feels like Modern Warfare 2019's but without endless slide-jumping around corners, and I honestly vibe with it despite personally despising PvP nowadays. Also lean buttons are great.

Having put 24hr's into the warfare game mode, I think it's pretty decent. I'd say a solid 70% or the bad review's are about the anti cheat, now I see the security concerns but there are a hundred different way's. As I have never liked the Tarkov game type ill stay way from commenting's. The warfare game mode is really fun, gun play feels good and refreshing. BF2042 is a dead game and doesn't live up to bf4(the best IMO). and compared to cod its just better, no stupid sliding mechanic's for sweats to abuse, big, open, fun map's. On the challenge's and cosmetic's, Yes it's clearly taking the mobile game's strategy but as long as the game is fun I don't mind. Also I have a mid at best PC and don't see these performance problems everyone is on about.
I mean its pretty obvious that its a free to play game. But as someone who is has been playing regularly and only played Warfare mode (Battlefield mode) I can say that most of the things your are putting in the "deep black pit" are not working that way. Outside of the battle pass, everything is obtainable free. I have not spent a single cent on this game and already have got multiple quantum keys, and multiple legendary skins. I hate skins myself and could not care less if I ever got one, but to enter the top 25% of players is extremely easy for most people to do. As for the auction house style, yea that's its gauche mechanic. But the reality is players are going to be stupid with there money and buy into this, so why not let free to play players profit off idiots. Free to play games get such a bad rap for there monetization styles, and while they are insanely predatory, if its not a pay to win game, and everything is cosmetic based, then honestly I am for it. If you are stupid enough to pay into these system, you honestly deserve to have your money taken. These system only keep getting added because people keep using them. I just don't really care anymore about idiots losing hundreds if not thousands on skins. You want to whale for pretty pixels, then be my guest, but I wont.
"That nobody remembers". Excuse you? There's a large dedicated fanbase of us _still_ playing the original NovaLogic Delta Force games (they're all still online), especially Joint Operations Combined Arms! Just because you're too young to remember them, or simply never got around to enjoying classic "milsim" titles that launched the entire genre, doesn't mean it's niche. Delta Force Black Hawk Down was one of the best-selling PC titles in 2003 behind Far Cry, and then again for Xbox/PS2 in 2005! This new "Delta Force" is absolute _garbage_ in comparison to the originals.
My brain must have a filter or something. I've played a good amount of Delta Force at this point and didn't even notice that you could buy things. My eyes just glaze over when I look at the menu.
At a surface-level, you can call it shite. You can call it a nightmare. But this BF2042 clone is better than it's original counterpart. This DMZ/Tarkov hybrid strikes the best middle-ground for combining enjoyable PvP with rewarding loot progression. The game is solid. And while kernel-level anticheat from China is a scary thing to have, it seems to be working. In my 100 hours in extraction, I've only encountered 3 total cheaters.
I used to shit talk about gacha games... Until I tried and realized that the quality is higher than what AAA games offers me on top of having new content every 20 days. And it's free to try instead of the awfull 70 to 80$ AAA games ask me. With just a subscription for currency to pull characters that bring new way to plays the game. This is what I expect from a live service and it's actually a lot of work that needs talented people. You don't just throw millions and bring a new team with no experience because the previous one was layoff to cut cost. AAA games are really the fast food of gaming but at a premium price. If realistic graphism is mandatory for someone then yes not for them but otherwise it's great value.
😂 I can buy keys because I just won a pristine deluxe skin, I sold it to the auction house for 500 money now I got 495 on my account wallet. I just don't know where else I can get Mandel Bricks because I'm not really into extraction game.
also you can literally buy 2 quantum keys a week just for the extraction money... and with how easy it is to make profit in the extraction mode, theres not a big issue of getting 2 million together that is if you even are good enough to not get annihilated by another group who wants the mandelbrick AND ITS ONLY A SKIN YOU ARENT FORCED TO PAY
12:45: Please don't refer to The Game Awards as anything other than a grifter's lame attempt to blackmail publishers and developers into paying for exposure. Because that is all it is, period.
Iunno what you're on about. The game is great. Fun for either BF fans or tarkov fans, FREE, cosmetic only mtx, and there's literally just one screen on launch with no timer for the shop that can be closed immediately with 1 keypress. And from what I could tell from the couple times I glanced at the shop the prices weren't as egregious as COD.
Tencent is pretty bad, just remember PoE1/PoE2 is owned by Tencent and the MTX shop shows it. 45$ per color os a cosmetic. Over 100$for decent stash tabs setup. Tencent also owns or has large stock in Epic and many others. We literally cannot escape their corruption
@@lewisbenzie845 Sod off. Insults are a pathetic notion. I have paid enough into PoE to validate my opinion, and I stand by what I said. Their MTX on PoE2 for cosmetics is 25-40% more than PoE1. It is Ludacris to ask for 45$ for part of a cosmetic and then another 25-30$ for the other part. Some of them are 90$ for a set. Just because it is free to play, doesn't mean the monetization needs to be insane. They even have seasonal passes. They will still do fine if the slash the prices down to the industry "standard."
Why is it so hard for those people to understand that the way they will earn loads of money will be by actually being fair with the players ? We genuinely live in a timeline where even a gacha game made by an indie company is infinitely more fair than the big names.
I have been playing and enjoying the game, but the current mobile game level of monetization, different progression systems, events, etc ... is too overwhelming and keeping me from investing financially. if they can make it clean, easy to understand, and user friendly I think I'll be down to invest into it. You get a lot for free, and I don't think it's the worst monetisation, but the presentation and feel fine maybe me feel comfortable yet.
I'd rather have the lootboxes that cost a dollar then pay 40 to 60 dollars on a single skin in Cod or Fortnite etc this is why I stopped playing rocket league removed cheap keys for premium jack up prices and its happening in every game now
@odg1190 at the start of that I was in support of removing lootboxes who could have guessed that removing them would just get them to raise prices to absurdity battlepasses are now considered deals but companies keep putting less content into them
The game isnt even that bad, youre just hating for the sake of it. Literally every single live service free game has microtransactions heck even CoD you pay 60 bucks and STILL get bombarded with ads and battlepasses. The game is fun. Period. And you can ignore the purchases.
We had a discussion a few days ago, on one hand you've got Tencent as a publisher with the most hellish mobile monetization, but on the other hand you got Tencent as an investor that seems content with letting their studios do what they do best as long as the numbers stay positive and then taking a cut of the profit.
It’s looking better than Battlefield… If anything, this is something that forces DICE and EA to tighten their focus back to gameplay and good setting, so be it. Delta Force is working with Black Hawk Down vibes and doing it well, so… If they’re careful, they’ll work for years. Doing things that DICE doesn’t do, it’s workable.
Tencent is just an Eastern EA. I've made it no secret that their service is nothing but a dreadful treadmill, and that's just with my experience on CoD Online. I want nothing to do with them.
It's okay-ish, but I'm honestly still annoyed about all the hero shooter elements in that game. And considering that it's free and owned by Tencent, it's obvious that it's monetization would be predatory at some point.
I had fun in beta. Same as ABI. Once the game released, all qualities got completely shattered by insane monetization, shady kernel based AC, nonsensical communication from developer´s end. In the world of PoE or Warframe I just can´t anymore. Say what you will about Hoyo gachas but at least their monetization system is clear as water. This conveluted trash is just nope for me.
I honestly quit and uninstalled after one match, not because of all the attached live service nonsense, but because the map design of that one map I played was so brutal that I just couldn't be bothered. Certainly a shame that Delta Force, a forgotten classic, is being wasted on this.
I swear so many people online are either thoughtless suckers or they're effectively bots paid to talk trash when anyone criticizes a company's products. Or they're doing it for free, which puts them back in the pathetic marks column. If you enjoy playing the latest grindy monetization-filled F2P live service game then go and play it, nobody's stopping you, but please, STFU about it! Stop crying like children when someone criticizes gross industry practices & trends that normal people barely tolerate. You do NOT need to show compulsory support for a video game or play defense like a volunteer marketing department for everything related to the latest flash-in-the-pan F2P multiplayer shooter just because you don't hate the gameplay. You're not helping anyone or anything except venture capital vultures by pearl-clutching when someone criticizes sleezy monetization practices of a game you dont hate. You're not even helping the game itself.
Game is actually great..the shooting is great and its actually very stable and performance very smooth. (On medium settings). I havent had fun with a shooter like this in agres. Never felt pressure to spend a cent on it.
If this video's comments are anything to go by, Steam reviews may not be the end all for accurate public sentiment. Delta Force is a time-honored series from Novalogic, arguably the progenitor of the milsim genre, so if Tencent found a way to capture that audience, I think they at least did some things right. The monetization stuff is sort of a sticking point for me, though. On one hand I hate their inclusion with every fibre of my being; but on the other hand, games like CS:GO have become household names because of those same mechanics, so I wouldn't count the game a failure just yet.
The UI stuff is headache inducing. Battlefield 2042 had the same problem. After every game there were 2-3 ad pop ups, and they took away persistent lobby’s so you can go to the store in between matches.
Have to add a huge reason gachas are so popular is the lack of barrier to entry for the base game. And usually they make it sothat playing free-to-play is fun enough that you justify yourself spending a little... then eventually end up spending a lot over a 6 month period. Meanwhile the western model was literally lets slap additional monetization onto a full-price game.
It’s fair to say anything video game related is a bottomless hole that light can’t escape including RUclipsrs, look at all the sponsors in every single video of every single channel. Bravo!
What annoys me is that Delta Force, which is named after an American Special Forces group, has multiple nationalities as "operators," but no national militaries. Who is fighting who? Who knows who. Chinese girl fighting with Australian dude while an american guy has an MG fighting clones over a futuristic battleground using modern weapons. It feels like nothing burgers. Everyone is "formerly delta force." Which is such a basic for of story telling.
That's why i don't play F2P and online games anymore, it's not worth my time and cash. It it have aggressive kernel level anticheat i already can't play, because i'm a Linux user, so...
I used to play Delta force games a lot so when I heard about this game i was hyped until I saw it wasa mobile dev. Once I knew it was a chinese company using the name I was just pissed.
I've played it for a dozen hours and while I do see stuff you mentioned here but the 'urge' to participate in all of those mechanics - for me - is almost 0. It's nice to have some things to do (once in a while) that isn't about continuous matches, so... I kinda like it actually. I don't always ended up using all that but the gacha stuff and stuffs, it's nothing egregious - just a lil' bit annoying sometimes. My biggest gripe IS the anti-cheat debacle. I stopped playing because of that.
i don't get it. the game is pretty enjoyable. 'meh' is apt, but i still have enjoyed my time with it. if we're being honest, cod is still worse while still having a $70-$100 price tag on top.
I do remember Delta Force, I took one good look at their marketing material and determined that the name is being worn like some Horror Skinsuit. If they're willing to do that, what else? Nah pass for me.
I just can't wait for Battlebit Remastered to finally return after their current reworks are finished and polished. It's the only "correct Battlefield" that we have, it's just dormant atm
Gacha games... I mean it is in the name and people still fall for them. They're trying to catch you, to get you hooked. Let's just hope, that people who spend money on on stuff like that, never find out that literal drugs also exist. It wouldn't end well.
Super disagree with the title of this video, i played a bunch of the game during the beta periods that were on steam, and ive played 27 hours of it so far since it released, I feel its a better version of what BF2042 tried to be. The extraction mode isnt my favorite, but ive played very little of it and you dont have to engage with it, so theres nothing lost there in my opinion. The season pass/battle pass is less than 10 USD worth of premium currency, so its a change from some games that require you to buy multiple currency bundles in order to afford purchasing the battle pass. I may not spend more than the $10 for this first battle pass, but i enjoyed the game enough that i felt like supporting them.
If you just play the game its way better than any CoD ir BF. People really need to chill with the doomsaying on this game. Just play it and ignore purchases which are in no way necessary and you got a really good F2P game
Oh for the reason those gatcha games are so high in the game awards is because the community wants it to win. And you might say any game wants their game to win what am i talking about? Well whenever those gotcha games win an award they get a pittence of in game premium currency so they actually want them to win to get the like 50 gems for pulls rather than honestly thinking its good
@mediumvillain it's so cringe because it's usually not even a single pull which isn't even efficient because the 10 pulls guarentee you a rare drop so you get 1/20th of what you'd want
Ok as someone who spend almost 100hrs on delta force extraction, the video paints the game as evil and bad, but its kinda not.. Yes the popup on the start of the game is annoying Shop / Market, you can get them for free. Theres this thing called Delta Ticket, where you can get those by selling mandle brick on the market, which you get by playing the game on BF mode Or the extraction mode. and extraction one is the easiest for getting it but, you have to be good at the game cause its a map event to insentivise PVP but let's be honest here, no one came to the game for the gacha and skin And quantum key is technically free, you can get up to 5 or something (doesn't really care about the gacha) by selling "1 or 2" mandle brick depending on market price usually go for 350+ to 400 delta ticket also haven't encountered blatant cheater playing on ASIA server, so yea.. The old Delta Forces games, before Black hawk Down, were very impressive military sims. Their shooting mechanics are still bar none. Every rifle's bullet pattern was mapped out immaculately.
This new iteration is graphics over simulation.
It's sad to see a childhood game franchise being revived into such a zombie

Well, it's no surprise, it has been dead for 25 years and been surpassed in every way numerous times, even by the early farcry games

Hoyo is responsible for the 5050 system. I do hate Hoyo
The one thing I do quite like in this Delta Force is the weapon customizations. Quite nice being able to tailor the weapons to how I'd like to use them.
After having 30+ hours in the game with all of being in the Battlefield style mode, I don’t think I ever received a popup for buying stuff from the store. Comparing it to Destiny, Delta Force’s popup for advertising items is way way less aggressive

Thanks for calling me a nobody.
J.R.R. Tolkien provided an excellent definition: evil lacks the ability to truly create-it can only pervert or corrupt what is already good. They corrupt and ruin games by buying out studios, and when they attempt to create something new, we end up with this...
For a Tarkov-lite it’s actually fairly enjoyable and more forgiving.

So true I never spent a dime on Delta. I've won a pristine deluxe skin, sold it to auction house. Now I have money to buy more quantum keys.
It's better than 2042
A Lot less explosion and explosives, less impactful vehicles, shorter maps, easier to upgrade and customize weapons
Unironically DF is way better than the slop BF2042 is. Even now, almost 4 years later they haven't fixed core issues like terrible input in a shooter and never forget the abysmal launch it had.
The thing is, DF is F2P and also includes better version of Tarkov than Tarkov ever was
But EA and dice are not good
I mean… the game plays better than 2042…
Gunplay is much tighter and better feeling than any BF I’ve played since BF4. I hesitate to say but it even feels less floaty and has better feedback when it comes to actually shooting at enemies than BF4 does…
yeah, im honestly having a lot of fun with it.

I agree with that. On top of it, I haven't found those one way head glitchs that were common on BF. I kinda wanna see the high ping experience, just to know how the game handles that.

I loved the old delta force game, and I have found memories of playing it on my Windows 98 machine.
You got it right man. I just won a deluxe skin, sold to auction house now have 495 money to buy more quantum keys.

Delta force runs incredibly well even on bad systems. The extraction mode is also a blast. Way more fun and casual than any other extraction shooter

also you can literally buy 2 quantum keys a week just for the extraction money... and with how easy it is to make profit in the extraction mode, theres not a big issue of getting 2 million together
that is if you even are good enough to not get annihilated by another group who wants the mandelbrick

I remember Delta Force.
Yeah Tencent needs to stop trying to turn all the games they publish into wanna be Dark Souls games.
Tencent has unlimited money so they just stuff at the wall at this point and hope it sticks
I've been playing Delta Force and somehow I didn't realise until this video that I owned the original. It was not memorable.
There were 9 games in the original Delta Force series over 11 years. But you don't remember, so clearly no one does.
Tencent is pretty bad, just remember PoE1/PoE2 is owned by Tencent and the MTX shop shows it. 45$ per color os a cosmetic. Over 100$for decent stash tabs setup. Tencent also owns or has large stock in Epic and many others. We literally cannot escape their corruption
is'nt Diablo IV have similiar or the same agressive monetization?
PoE 1 is f2p right? So will PoE2. Leech
@@Taiylimyet you can still play the game f2p or pay LESS than 100$ for stash tabs. Curious
Why is it so hard for those people to understand that the way they will earn loads of money will be by actually being fair with the players ? We genuinely live in a timeline where even a gacha game made by an indie company is infinitely more fair than the big names.
Blame the consumers. A market does not exist in a vacuum. The only people you can blame are the ones who enabled it and fed into it.
@alexursu4403 Because as Bellular said the devs came from mobile and that is just the opposite of true on that platform.
It's why I don't feel dirty buying Warframe packs.
Because if they land a few whales that's worth thousands of regular players
I have been playing and enjoying the game, but the current mobile game level of monetization, different progression systems, events, etc ... is too overwhelming and keeping me from investing financially. if they can make it clean, easy to understand, and user friendly I think I'll be down to invest into it. You get a lot for free, and I don't think it's the worst monetisation, but the presentation and feel fine maybe me feel comfortable yet.
I'd rather have the lootboxes that cost a dollar then pay 40 to 60 dollars on a single skin in Cod or Fortnite etc this is why I stopped playing rocket league removed cheap keys for premium jack up prices and its happening in every game now
Problem is EU countries started to crackdown on lootboxes. That's why all these games have jumped ship to battlepasses and overpriced "bundles"
@odg1190 at the start of that I was in support of removing lootboxes who could have guessed that removing them would just get them to raise prices to absurdity battlepasses are now considered deals but companies keep putting less content into them
Youd still pay more gambling loot boxes than overpriced skin bundles costing even a hundred dollars.

Idk man, the games pretty fun. Its got 44k players at this moment, whereas 2042 has under 10k. I'd say its doing pretty good for a beta.
Well it doesn't cost $60 but yeah of all Battlefield games they choose the worse one to copy.
I loved the 1998 Delta Force. It used voxel graphics to render terrain at large distances. It was the best realistic sniper simulation of its era.
Literally tried to pay for this game and couldn't.. shit take.
As someone who played many of the old NovaLogic games, including most of the Delta Forces... This does not spark joy.

remarkable news

I remember, delta force task force dagger was great, the map scale for its time period was immense, the pyramids mission was excellent
Can't believe somebody was payed by BSG and actually agreed to say this shit

I see my review made waves regarding the completely unrespectable monetization, good, people should not be ok with this level of predatory practices.
funny i actually still have a delta force game from my old windows 98 days
ah yes, "fill the void left by EA" by competing with COD for how absurd we can make microtransactions.
If you just play the game its way better than any CoD ir BF. People really need to chill with the doomsaying on this game. Just play it and ignore purchases which are in no way necessary and you got a really good F2P game

TIS HERESY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER IN NEEDS OF A GOOD PURGING!!
Every gamer and their dog knows that Tencent has a terrible reputation when it comes to the gaming industry.
Oh for the reason those gatcha games are so high in the game awards is because the community wants it to win. And you might say any game wants their game to win what am i talking about? Well whenever those gotcha games win an award they get a pittence of in game premium currency so they actually want them to win to get the like 50 gems for pulls rather than honestly thinking its good
god thats miserable
@mediumvillain it's so cringe because it's usually not even a single pull which isn't even efficient because the 10 pulls guarentee you a rare drop so you get 1/20th of what you'd want
afterwards theyll go back to cursing out the game for not giving them the extra rare limited item they wanted

Ok as someone who spend almost 100hrs on delta force extraction, the video paints the game as evil and bad, but its kinda not..
Yes the popup on the start of the game is annoying
Shop / Market, you can get them for free. Theres this thing called Delta Ticket, where you can get those by selling mandle brick on the market, which you get by playing the game on BF mode Or the extraction mode. and extraction one is the easiest for getting it but, you have to be good at the game cause its a map event to insentivise PVP
but let's be honest here, no one came to the game for the gacha and skin
And quantum key is technically free, you can get up to 5 or something (doesn't really care about the gacha) by selling "1 or 2" mandle brick depending on market price usually go for 350+ to 400 delta ticket
