Good deal on the logs, I'm looking forward to seeing the projects come together. I agree completely, you can get a lot of work done with a compact tractor! see you on the next one.
New subscriber here. I have the L2501 DT( gear drive). Does a fantastic job for me. I use mine for mowing 110 acres of pasture, dragging up logs and tops for firewood, and for loading manure spring and fall here on our farm in Iowa.
Ole Sampson seems like he would be pretty easy to get along with lol. I love and respect how you acknowledge the Lord when talking about how the logs worked out for your good. I’ve read how that all things work together for good to those that love God. It’s great to see someone acknowledge that and show gratitude. It seems to be more and more rare now but I believe it’s still as good and right as it’s ever been and I’m very happy to see that you acknowledge God the way you do. Keep up the great work. You have a lot of great content. Homesteading, firewood, milling, God and more. You have a great channel that I believe will grow very much! God bless you and your family my friend!
New Sub. Excellent video. Looking forward to going through your library of videos. Looking to purchase a 2502 for our new property and think the gear drive is the way to go. It's impressive.
You'll like the 2502 version. It has a few upgrades that are very nice. You'll appreciate the gear drive when it comes time to running pto driven implements. Have a good day!
I've got the DT as well. Works like a charm. I grew up on a gear drive Wheel Horse lawn tractor, so I'm used to the gears. I also see in your equipment list you have the CS590. I have one of those as well....that thing is a beast.
I grew up on gear drives too. I love that CS590. It has been a real work horse. Now I would like to have the biggest saw Echo makes. If the tax man doesn't take everything I hope to get one.
Looking to buy used tractor for my small firewood operation. There are many more choices at cheaper price for gear drive tractors versus HST. Do you have trouble loading the logs onto the bucking station with a gear drive tractor?
I grew up on gear drive so for myself it's simple. After 50 hours on a gear drive with a loader you'll be a pro. I use it for loader work weekly. Good luck on the tractor hunt!
The gear drive (DT) model is hands down better for hard work like dragging logs, hard bush hogging and pulling heavy loads. But he HST model is faster. But if i wanted fast i would have got a skid steer.
That's right. I really enjoy my gear drive. I think a lot of folks that go HST maybe haven't grown up running tractors. Nothing wrong with HST though. Ive ran them all. I just prefer gear in a tractor.

I'm already jealous...110 acres. The DT is a great little tractor. It keeps our homestead moving. Have a good day!

Thanks brother. We are to always acknowledge Christ. Have a good day splitting wood. I've been milling lumber and fixing to work in the garden.

Those are some great looking logs Matthew and hey, I'll trade supervisors with you! 😂
Haha I hear ya Mark! Sampson is a great supervisor!

Yeah we have had a few good pigs as supervisors 🤣
Lol I really can't complain too much! I've had some good ones!

Only thing tht gets me with kubota is fueling the massey ferguson has ground fueling
That's true. It is a tiny hassle. I sit a 5 gallon can on a soft rag on the hood and use a battery powered transfer pump to fuel it.
