He arguably had a relatable experience (ostensible betrayal by the closest family member on behalf of their respective villages), but had no true knowledge about Sasuke’s reasons nor emotional connection with him, and thus he failed to get through to him. Of course, Sasuke wouldn’t have joined the “light” immediately but he would have genuinely considered it afterwards.

I relate to Gaara so much. He looks at Sasuke's situation so rationally, and he doesn't push his perspective onto him either like Naruto did. Once he realizes that Sasuke is too far gone, he cries and understands what he needs to do. Naruto was right in wanting to let Sasuke live, but was looking at it the wrong way. Sasuke was a threat to everyone, and immediately after he tries to kill Sakura, Naruto gives him a pass and talks to him as if they're still friends. The only way Naruto was able to get through to him was by taking all his rage upon himself.

Gaara's character arc is legitimately one of the best things in the series. I remember when the anime was airing and this encounter, the complete reverse of their past encounter, happened. That was some of the best airing ever...

I love how Garry is taking the upper hand in the fight and using talk no juts at the same time. Usually naruto is losing and starts relying on talk no jutsu.

Really love the role reversal from part 1 to part 2, in part 1 Gaara's a murderous psychopath who hates the world and was intended to be used as a weapon of war while Sasuke while driven by revenge was still loyal to his village and actually cared about his comrades, in part 2 Gaara's a Kage who genuinely cares about the nation and people he leads while Sasuke is an S rank criminal wanted across all nations and is fueled by wanting revenge against the village he cared about in the 1st encounter between the two, God I love Naruto
Pretty screwed up how Naruto pushed Gaara. Even though Naruto didn't want to hear about what happened with Sasuke, Gaara wanted more time to interact with Naruto. Despite being the Kazekage, he offered Naruto a drink when he would become Hokage in the future. Naruto should try and take more time with his peers like Neji and Hinata. Naruto didn't realize how far Neji would go for him since he saved his way of life.

I relate to Gaara so much. He looks at Sasuke's situation so rationally, and he doesn't push his perspective onto him either like Naruto did. Once he realizes that Sasuke is too far gone, he cries and understands what he needs to do. Naruto was right in wanting to let Sasuke live, but was looking at it the wrong way. Sasuke was a threat to everyone, and immediately after he tries to kill Sakura, Naruto gives him a pass and talks to him as if they're still friends. The only way Naruto was able to get through to him was by taking all his rage upon himself.

I love how Garry is taking the upper hand in the fight and using talk no juts at the same time. Usually naruto is losing and starts relying on talk no jutsu.

Pretty screwed up how Naruto pushed Gaara. Even though Naruto didn't want to hear about what happened with Sasuke, Gaara wanted more time to interact with Naruto. Despite being the Kazekage, he offered Naruto a drink when he would become Hokage in the future. Naruto should try and take more time with his peers like Neji and Hinata. Naruto didn't realize how far Neji would go for him since he saved his way of life.
Naruto was hurting. We all have those moments where we push away those we care for when we're feeling saddened.
