    This was a lot of help. Track laying is definitely frustrating but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually. Can’t wait to see more

    A trick to go up bridges fast, that I use and that still works (not always) is to just press W, croutch and spam the space bar, which lets you fly up.

    Is there a measurment tool of some sort. So that you can see how high something is in realtion to where you are and figure out how much room you need for a certain grade?
    I have not purchased or played this game i am trying to get a feel for how the construction works before I make my decision.

    • @honeybadger9425

      The trick is to work from the top of a hill down and try to get down with no more than 3% grade each way with nice gentle corners. That will eliminate your problem because you will get down when you get down to meet up with your main track. Going up a nightmare and likely will end up butchered and very twisty because you don’t know where you need to start climbing some the hills it’s some distance away.

    I just started this video but in the OG map I tried building a track and it's on a 2 or 2.5% incline at one part for a decent distance but with Betsy she won't make it up with empty cars, I think I have 6, maybe 8. What's the best way to fix this? Bc if she struggles with empty cars, she sure won't do it with 1 or 2 loaded log cars

    • @kingarthursims
      @kingarthursims  8 месяцев назад +1

      Betsy should be able to make a 2.5 with 4 loaded cars. Double check the brakes if she is not!

    2:00 my question of why i came here is what the diference with or without ballast >_< i dont know its purpose
    still wacthing

    • @kingarthursims
      @kingarthursims  Год назад +1

      Well, without ballast just gives you the track, with no ballast underneath. Perfect for sections where you want the tracks on the ground OR you have already laid trackwork.

      @@buder5116 glad to help - Ballast is the mix of gravel that makes up the roadbed.

      BIG LOOPS - The train passes under itself on the way down. Seems to work best for that location.

    You run into problems regarding precise laying of a railroad track along the platform of the warehouse (see 21:00 in your RUclips video) due an initial track alignment error of 1 degree. Your initial track laying work was not accurate and I think that the information you gave at 12:40 is incorrect. Note that the initial track alignment for the railroad track that you lay along the warehouse platform is negative 91 with in that situation an initial track alignment error of 1 degree. The precise track alignment value for having a perfect result is negative 90 (or alignment 270 what is the same as -90) I tested this in the game, in circle mode I have placed extreme close along the platform of the freight depot a 100% straight railroad track with the initial track alignment value of 270. The result was 100% perfect, the railroad track was on the full length of the warehouse platform perfect aligned with it. I can tell that the freight depot is on it's length in the game world placed with the alignment values of 090-270. Meten is weten, it's a Dutch saying meaning "measuring is knowing", I have done this regarding the placement of the freight depot in the game world. Mention that in the game the 090-270 alignment line is not going from east to west but from north to south.
    Perhaps you have seen in the game the weird numbering of the compass radials too. These are numbered anti clockwise, from alignment 0 (pointing to the east) to the north having the alignment value 90, to the west with alignment value 180 and finally to the south with alignment value 270.
    I think it's important for track laying work to be precise as possible. Having a backsight in surveying due a sighting on an initial established alignment value in your railroad track line. In your situation was the initial track alignment value 1 degree incorrect for laying the railroad track as precise as possible along the warehouse platform. Finally I think a very usefull tip. In the circle mode you can also do the fine tuning track curve and gradient value work while being in the third person view mode! The same is true for finishing the track laying proces by clicking the left mouse button, also this can be done in 3rd person view, but so far I have never seen this happen in RUclips video's. Perhaps most Railroads Online gamers are not aware yet of these (unknown?) options in 3rd person view but I use these frequent to have a better railroad track overview, making absolute pin point accuracy in track laying work in this game perfect possible.
