I'm so thankful you did!! I was gifted one by a woodworker friend of mine, and he had added a wider & heavier base, which prevented the wobbling seen here...what a blessing! 💖
Do what you do for regular drop spindles. Park-and-draft. I learned how to spin using a drop spindle. I REALLY upped my game on drafting. THEN, I moved to a wheel doing the same exact thing (park and draft). Now I can spin.
I’ve never been to a dive store before! Thank you for the tip. Some advantages are: You can load a bit more fiber than you could on a drop spindle, working on this wheel is faster for me than on a spindle, and you can do long draw. overall I think it’s just a different experience and neither is better than the other.
Wow. It’s been 10yrs since I invented the Dodec. This video is great, and your wheel looks amazing!
Thank you so much!!! It’s such a great wheel and makes spinning accessible to so many more people!

I want one of these so bad
Wow!💓
nice!
Does this have any advantage over a straight spindle? Otherwise, for your weights, I would suggest going to a dive store for lead weights.
