My dad owned a June 2001 Advantgarde 2.0 from new for 12 years, absolutely loved it. I remember hearing the wierd buzz from inserting the key when I was a young'un and crapping myself XD. Sadly got scrapped in 2015 :(

@@DrSurajBhardwaj no idea, my dad sold the car in 2013 and it got scrapped 2 years later, I'm guessing something broke (my dad said he's replaced the wishbone many many times in his ownership) and the owner just decided it wasn't worth fixing.

I have one too! 2005 (facelift, different meter panel than this), and manual transmission 6-speed. I am 2nd owner, bought in 2012 and made in Germany. Tried to find the same model in Malaysia (facelift and manual) but no luck. Only pre-facelift and manual, and that is still rare.

great video, the c200 kompressor is a great car compared to facelift sucessor the c230, the m111 engine is very reliable.

Yeah sure why not, furl economy might not be as great as more modern cars though

How does the c200 w203 compare to a 318 e46 in terms of ride, reliability, fuel consumption, fun, and driver comfort?
The W203’s ride is softer and smoother…. Reliability ummm is debatable due to the 203s notorious electronics. Fuel consumption, I’m not too sure. The E46 is more but but less comfortable. Overall, if you want a comfy car, W203. If you want more fun and better driving experience, get the E46

WhAt kinds of issues would I need to look for when buying one given its age?

i pay for my cdi 200, 5500 Euro's in perfect condition only 64000 km's and no rust whatever. With one year warranty from garage.
Antifreeze is a really bad issue in this ones

Uhhh I wouldn’t recommend the W203. Plenty of electronic issues haha

In my opinion, the w203 held up better over time than the w204. Especially the interior on the early w204's looks much cheaper. I agree with the owner, though, the W124 has a softer ride quality, and even the seats are much softer and more confortable, the W203 is much sportier, which I guess was what Mercedes wanted anyway.
Maybe design and looks wise, but build wise, I can assure you that W204s are built way better
Hello, I'm the owner of the W203 in the video. After owning both the W203 and W204, I can confidently say the W204 is a much better car in every way. Both have about the same ride quality, but the W204 stands out with better handling and weight distribution. Mind you, this video was taken a week after purchasing the car, so my thoughts and expectations then were pretty high.

Yes, I was talking only about design, I've never had hands on experience with a W204. But I'm sure we can agree that the W124 is the best of them all ahahah, older Mercedes are just the best

@@KyleLiongCars True that, my dad has a W203 from 2007 with only 35-40k km. I might be driving that one soon. One thing I am unsure about is the possibility of playing music in the car through my smartphone, is there a connection for a 3,5 mm jack ur USB adapter for instance? Thank you!
I don’t think it’s possible for that model without replacing the head unit :(

What the hell I have the same car but mines a japanese import it has cloth seats not leather but it's a c200 kompressor and 2002 not 2001 this one actually seems better then mine and nicer looking how ?
The options list was massive on these haha! Japanese specced cars often had cloth too

I really want leather seats though I might look into some really good seat covers for the front and back or save a bunch of money that I can use for something as unnecessary as replacing the seats ! Well I think the best option is to look for junkyard seats. I think it’s easier and better that was than seat covers. Check your VIN too if it’s a 2001
@@KyleLiongCars do you know if the car is able to have the seats removed because I know there is a bunch of wiring and stuff under the seats also my fuel pump is under my back seats both of them. Is there still options out there ? If so yeah il talk to a mercedes dealership first and see what they say then go from there

The rust is a second name for mercedes benz! I have a w203 for 14 years by now and it's the worse car I ever had in my life.Rust is everywhere (no any anticorrosion protection).I already repaired rust 2 times but is rusty again..Poor and incapable german technology.I have a electronic issues all the time( computer, abs, esp, bas, sensors,klimate sensors,starter sensors) injectors, bosch pump, transmission leaks, cheap plastic interior breaking everywhere,servo pump and stearing wheel....After 14 years of owning mercedes,I can say I will never ever buy any other mercedes or any other german vehicle.Mercedes and also other german cars fake their tests and saying they are the best,but they aren't.I also owned many Japanese cars and I never have had any problems with them.
I agree with you that German cars are a bit if a pain to maintain...... no. A big pain compared to Japanese cars, but IDK I still find myself being dumb enough to maintain my W140 hahaha!
Yep the W203 is pretty known for the ABS/ESP/BAS issue. That’s really the biggest downsides for this generation or Mercs. Good thing is at least in our country, rust isn’t that big of a problem.

People give this generation of the C class a lot of sht because it's from the Daimler Chrysler era, they say it's just a Chrysler with Mercedes badge
But honestly I love this era of Mercedes, with the round headlights and the classy silhouette, the interior also looks great imo. It's my favorite generation tbh
