    Honestly having grew up from a subtropical place where moisture is disaster, I knew as a kid that a pair of pants worn in the winter unwashed to last the warm seasons will just smell so mouldy after six months in the closet, and I used to wash all my clothes except jackets and sweaters at least every week...
    And I was very surprised to learn that clothes could just dry naturally interior in Europe. My conclusion is that no one should ignore the climate situation before judging about this.
    Also, I used to have only three pairs of pants, all jeans, two black and one indigo uniqlo all year around. And then I became a denimhead......hm....

    • @CeeAreDee
      @CeeAreDee  3 года назад +2

      Yeah, very true words... the humidity must make a massive differece. We dont think anything about drying out pant on the balcony or on the rack... but I guess it is different by you.

    Wear for a year then wash them. I've been wearing selvedge for 25 ish years. I wear them turn them inside out and hang them outside, iron them inside out then wear them again. I don't wear them everyday or at home. Generally just wear them on nights out or days out.

    This is one of the problems when you've heard or read something and then immediately think that you've became an expert on the subject. His thinking has became too rigid and inflexible, and what's worse, he's completely integrated it into his lifestyle. Besides this, how fucking boring. As they say variety is the spice of life. A much needed video!

    • @CeeAreDee
      @CeeAreDee  3 года назад +2

      Yeah, its the boringness of minimalism that I can't get my head around... why would you not want a little variety in life... but then again I know that what to wear stresses a lot of guys out on a daily basis, so there is that. But a little education in the subject would go a long way. Thanks for the kind words, Jason.

    Must admit that I am a little confused... He says that he doesn't wash his pants, but then talks about washing his pants occasionally (i.e. every 3 months). Even the title of the video is "I never wash my pants". Which is it?

    "How to get dog $#!t out of his jeans without washing them" had me LAUGHING, and the look on your face was priceless!!!
    Quick question- in the title "Why Me and Matt D'Avella Don't Wash Out Jeans." did you mean "Don't Wash Our Jeans"? Not trying to pick on you at all, I just have one of those brains that processes information very literally most of the time. Also pointing it out in case it's a typo, so you can reach a larger audience!
    And you definitely wouldn't want to "wash out" jeans if you want contrasting fades! 😊

    wore last winter old fashioned straight leg japanese raw denim 6 months straight from one day to another. they did not smell at all after half a year, but my inner feeling said to wash them by hand. fades are great on pockets and knees and they are still pretty dark even in daylight. now planning to keep these without showing them washing (handwash or machine) at least a year. but there is a pair of new Levi´s cannabis dark loose fit indigo jeans waiting to start work in this season, so i will wear both.

    i have 3 pairs of jeans. one pair is currently benched until i lose enough weight to get back into them, but i already repaired them. i have one pair that is more tapered for the early 2000s look and another thats gonna be vintage fades. they will all be continuously repaired because i am not spending another $280 on a pair of jeans and i want the ultra worn in look of denim thats been worn for 10-20+ years or something like that

    Meh. Have over 10 pairs of selvedge jeans, been there done that. You don't have to wash them evey wear but full time wearing for over a year without washing will make you reek. I am coming round to the thinking of the Resolute guys in Japan who are slightly mocking of the high contrast fades, bad ass greaser look.. Each to their own...But I have a Pair of Bootleggers 601xx , worn about 30 times and they have various stains on them..inthe maching they go today, inside out, refresh wash , no detegent.. ..and no shame. The indigo is real and fucking lush and can see the crackling laready...

  • @gnomersy1087

    The idea of not washing jeans is frankly disgusting to me. You can choose to do what makes you happy but people don't smell their own smells very well our brains filter out ambient smells like those of our own BO particularly when those are a gradual change in odor. Pants don't need daily washing since your legs don't sweat much but tossing them into the wash about every 2 weeks of daily wear is what I go for. A shirt absolutely picks up an odor by day 2 and a distinct funk by day 3 not washing shirts for a month well I'll put it like this I've picked up a hitchhiker before who probably went that long between washes and yeah no thanks.
