The 45mph limit on the HF trailer is a function of the smaller size tire. Rotational speed greater than 45mph results in excess heat build up in the wheel bearing. You can go up one size using the same 4x12 inch rim and increase your speed to 65mph. (So I've read,)
You have many ratchet straps. Have you ever tried a cam buckle? Also a good way to keep your ratchet straps & cam buckles from getting tangled or knotted up after you roll them up put each one in a old sock. I am telling you it works perfect that way. I have several in old socks & never had to untangle a single ratchet strap or cam buckle.
Can you tell me what roof rack you would buy for a Honda Accord that would allow you to transport the round boat on top of a car? And, any tips you would have for loading it? Thank you!
I tried standing mine up in a 5’ bed of a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. I can tell you that even after adding a third strap over the top eyelet, the Skiff still shifted from side to side and seemed like it was prone to tipping still. The Skiff was also pressing up on the window glass, which seemed like a really bad idea. I could see it breaking the glass. I ended up just resting it on it’s side, even though it hangs over beyond the 4” allowed by law.🤷🏻♂️
You know you mentioned in this video that "this is an old one" well you can just give me that "old one" I'll pay shipping 😂😂😂😂 just kidding brother!!!!
Harbor Freight and or Northern Tools both say not to tow their trailers over 45 mph in the Q&A. Which is crazy slow. Do you tow that small trailer at highway speeds without any issues ? 65/70/75 mph ? Not sure why they claim not to exceed 45 mph, but no one drives that slow in this world today unless your 99 years old with cataracts !
I never seen that before. That seems unrealistic but not surprised. I've been using the same harbor freight trailer for 7 years now, been all over the SE with it on the freeways.
@@Ultraskiff Yes it's very unrealistic. That's why I was shocked, but at the same concerned if I needed a better trailer or not for the Ultraskiff. Thought I would ask here and around. Thanks for the reply !
@@thebigcountry6757 Did you end up buying one of those trailers, and if so, how has it been at HWY speeds? Just ordered my Ultraskiff...looking at trailering options and concerned by the same 45 MPH verbiage that you saw...
@@RobDerhak I studied the trailer thing for over a month. Looked at many options. I ended up buying a 4 x 6 at Lowes. Added bunks on each side. Added some bunks on the ramp. Added a wench on the front etc..I can load and unload the skiff fully loaded. Seat, battery, trolling etc.... I have pulled the trailer 65 mph with no issues. It cost more of course (which sucks) but turned out to be a really fun project and sweet rig..

Law Breaker 😈
Can you load one onto an suv roof rack please? I have no other choice but to use a 2018 Toyota Rav4.
Thank You Sir

What size bed in your truck
It's a 6 foot bed. Anything smaller, you have to leave the door down and put 1 strap through the center of the boat.
Wat about high ute like hilex
Doesnt seem like 1 way is better than the next
