Great buck and what a fitting end to the life of an old warrior that has outsmarted many a hunter and predator. He finally met his match. Congratulations
I think it's Kurt's mustache is why he sees a lot of action. Never have shot a deer on Halloween but the pre rut action has been wild, very cold and windy find valleys out of the wind has been good for me 👍✌️🇺🇲
I have definitely done that in the past! This is a brand new rest so I'm not entirely sure why it squeaked. My best guess was that there was a bit of moisture on the mole skin of the rest and a cold arrow squeaked out. Otherwise it was my arrow just bellering out a battle cry before launch 😂
@kurtthorsen5540 ok thanks. When you see a deer say 80 to 100 yards away what kinda of sequence of grunts and snort wheeze do you do cause I rarely can call a deer in so I must not be doing it right
Love the grunt session. Nice work buddy, most of the bucks i’ve taken with my bow have been victim to the good old grunt. I’m not as good as Kurt though. He’s an artist with that thing 😎
If its real windy, i just hunt the opposite side of the woods where the wind is coming from and its not too bad then. One of my best rut days i ever had seeing a lot of bucks and some big ones was November 17th in 17 mph winds back in 2020
i gave up Halloween hunts to the family/kids & for the last 5 years my biggest bucks have arrived on camera on Halloween between 330-5PM every year. i am no longer alive inside and i accept it because i accepted the wrong fate. Marathon WI.
Haha! He was live weight in the 230s! Was built like a bulldog 😂 Nubby neck and short legged. I'm confident if his neck was normal shaped instead of a tuna can neck then he would've been in my top 5 weights!
@@kurtthorsen5540 awesome. That's a fat one. Here in the Green Moutain state we consider a trophy if it is field dressed at 200 lbs or better. We generally don't grow much for antler here. The Benoit family taught us to chase the big track and big bodies.
@@johndziedzic7361 that's awesome! 200+ is certainly a Sherman Tank! My biggest personally was my big one from 2020. He dressed out at 248 lbs. That guy was a hippo!

Great video Kurt and an amazing spike. The bloopers, funny.

100% agree, Mustache Magic is a real thing 😂
Kurt put some stealth strip on your rest, works great for the QAD! Congrats on that old mature buck! You the man brother

@ right on buddy!!! Congrats again on Spikezilla
@aarongoeppner413 thanks boss!
Nice job Kurt 👍 that old buck was looking right into your soul, just like the one that Dan the man got.
What a cool buck. Congrats!
Great job, Kurt. Hope you get more crazy bucks.
Thanks buddy! Hope you and I get one tonight!
@kurtthorsen5540 hi Kurt can you please tell me the make and model of grunt tube your using? I like the sound of that one
@@craigwagner327 it's the HS No Bull grunt call. I flip the end of the call around and it makes for nice grunts and growls! Big fan of it!

Congratulations, Dom! Heard you got your first doe! How cool to have had famous Uncle Kurt with you!

I've harvested a decent 9pt on 10/30/2021 but never on the 31st..if it hits 20mph im out..
S-s-scrreeeeeeeechhh on the rest lol
Old arrow was just screaming to be released 😂
@ hahahaha I love it! Even old boy was like “hmmmm” …. Too slow though lol
what grunt call is Kurt using? that sounds great!
Hunter specialties No Bull grunt call. I flip the end of the call around and it seems to give it great volume and control. I love the sound of it!
High winds im out !!
Wait... There was a buildup of the possible weight... So. What is it??? So- I'd ask Kurt the weight of the GOAT before any ? about animal calls!
