Battlefield 4's single-player Campaign takes place during the fictional "War of 2020", six years after the events of its predecessor. Tensions between Russia and the United States have been running at a record high, due to a conflict between the two countries that has been running for the last six years. On top of this, China is also on the brink of war, as Admiral Chang, the main antagonist, plans to overthrow China's current government. If he succeeds, Chang will have full support from the Russians, helping spark war between China and the United States.

Technically helicopters were invented before the Fulton Recovery System. The system was invented as a way downed air crew, CIA agents, VIPs, and others in areas outside the range of helicopters and where other transport methods such as boat, car, or foot would be too slow

How did the plane hook them on though, isn't it supposed to have a like a pole at the front because if it catches them with the wing the propellers could cut the parachute?
Also, how do they drag them in xd, and then take off the fulton off the wing? Shit, I should just google this

@@kxkaru theres supposed to be a girder in the shape of a V sticking out from the nose.
That snags the weather balloon and cables which then drag behind so the crew can grab the lines to start winching in the cargo being fultoned.
bf is fun but not realistic and i like it.

It was so great to see a Fulton in action, especially since if you were familiar with the system you knew what was coming.

Literally the most unexpected thing that happened in the campaign I didn’t know how the f we were picked up
Ok ill be honest this made me cry 😭
So much nostalgia and memories flooding back at once.
One issue with this sequence is that the C-130 shown does not have the catch mechanism on the front of the plane (a small v shape alongside 2 cables from the nose to each wing) to prevent the lift cable from being tangled in the propellers. Otherwise this scene is a pretty accurate depiction of the Skyhook system as C-130's were common aircraft for this though the system was retired in 1996 due to long range helicopters being much more common
But the developers didn't know we'll hate Hannah.

Thought i was the only one who noticed those guns on the side. Probably the devs didnt want to lose money to make another plane and instead reuse the same plane from the previous games

This campaign filled me with sheer, unadulterated rage. None of the allied NPCs do anything but run directly into your line of fire, they can't even deal damage to enemies. Irish and Hannah had some of the most poorly written and annoying dialogue I've ever heard, at the end of the campaign I was sad that I couldn't let them both blow up🦕 that isn't even mentioning how glitchy it was, I had to reset the game several times🐙
Back when the Developers made the game they wanted, the game the gamers wanted, and not what the hedge fund wanted....

This kind of extraction has been used in history but as far as I know it was only used in WW2 and only with spies and not the special forces units of the time. A similar extraction technique is used to day except a helicopter hovers over you and drops a line that you clip in to and then the helicopter slowly flies off lifting you off the ground and the helicopter crew then pulls you up and into the helicopter.
