This is literally the only expansion that I never experienced( was too busy with work at the time of release and simply never got back to the game for awhile), so its been pretty awesome being able to go back!

I was debating coming back to wow so started a remix character since it was free to play to level 20. And I enjoyed it and got my subscription going again. Decided to pick a Night Elf Warlock, since I normally main Horde, and warlock isnt one I played much, but knew was still good at soloing stuff. Well with the remix and casting it seems like a bad choice when a few instants from melee seems to kill everything lol. But its good experience I wont pass up on. But trying to figure out how to approach this, and honestly, I think im just gonna go through the questing. I did most of it on my main back in the day, so doing it again isnt so bad. And I get the alliance perspective. Still accidently going into horde camps lol.
It took me two hours to get to level 15. At that point, I said, "This is faster??" I think I'll go back to regular retail for levelling. To be fair, it was a little easier killing mobs, and flying at level 10 instead of 30 is nice. But you can't fly if you level in dungeons, so that's irrelevant. And the dungeon queues are quite long, so that's another problem. And the people who played in those dungeons were extremely mean and quick to boot people.
That's a good structured way to go about it. Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm not in it to get cosmetics, most don't appeal to me. I simply want to quest and level some alts for the expansion. Sooo just gonna level one toon all the way then see how fast the next ones are. I think my endless xp hopes were dashed by the recent interview you posted lol
Personally i can only handle so much mob grinding.. a good way to collect bronze while taking it easy, is collecting bronze orbs flying around the zones.. its a decent way to break up the grinding.. while still accumulating bronze and cloak threads. And ya really dont have to kill a single thing or be grouped, worry about tags, etc.. I noticed the remix servers are based off the battle groups.. so theres a popularion variation in each of the remix realms..
I start with what do I really want out of this. Looking at all the cosmetics is a bit overwhelming, but when I went through I could pick out a few items that I know I will use and to hell with the FOMO on the rest. Otherwise it’s levelling all my remaining allied races to 50 for the heritage armour. Oh and maxing the cloak for cloak effects toy.
My plan is to take it slow for my first char and get all the quest achievements and reps and rares. My second char will have a boosted cloak and will do the group content dungeons scenarios and raids
At least as far as Cloud Serpent rep was concerned, it took me about an hour tops.. Onyx Eggs are still a thing, and I needed maybe 15 of them, less with daily activities :) (the cloud rings are still, after years, buggy. Many of them are massively oversized, and hitting the right place is more luck than judgement. )
The Klaxxi exalted grind took NO time! I did all quests in the area and quickly reached exalted without doing any dailies at all. Hoping all reps are that easy.
My plan: I'm gonna level up the first character via donjons and raids only - Especially on launch day to avoid troubles with quests - Then i'll do the quests with the many alts i'm planning to lvl up

Wondering if you or any viewers can shed some light on something if they were on the PTR. Afterwards, we obviously go back to regular Azeroth. When we do, is it going to apply the equivalent of the paid level boost, or just give us some green gear?? I personally never use my level boosts because I hate how it auto completes so much current expansion content, and I am really hoping that's not the case here.
personally i played and won 3/5 of my plunders and that was that. the desperation of cosmetic collectors with the mindset of mindlessly grinding kill fun
I'm excited for this event however the pressure of time limits is really not good for my mental health. The FOMO really pulls at me and I honestly don't have much time to play. This leaves me really conflicted and a little depressed... Maybe MMO time limited content isn't for me. Thanks for your continued focus on mental health and talking to it with your strategies. I will adopt your approach, "I'll leave the analysis for once I'm in there".
Tank or heal are always better if you want to Level with Group content. Thats like the most obvious thing ever in wow. You will still be fine with damage spec unless you want to be World first lv 70
You’re right about the mental health. Having played since vanilla I’ve been conditioned to stress and chase everything. I try to just do it slowly but when I see someone with something I don’t have I start the stress path again. I end up with a headache and knot in my stomach 🫤
We get the ability to purchase/unlock all of them. If I remember right, the tooltip for "appearance unlocked" might not be working properly for sets your class can't wear, so just keep track of which ones you've bought/unlocked already so you don't accidentally waste bronze by buying the same thing multiple times.
redshirtguy's napkin math put the total to buy EVERYTHING at 1.5 million bronze, but that assuming you dont already have some of the world boss mounts and toys from the zone rares. Priority for me is get the stuff I can only get during the event, then cool recolours, then world boss mounts, maybe.
I went healer because of the immediate LFR groupings... but having to explain to people that they need to pull like it was the old school game... so many dps and the rare tank, play like it was a damage meter competition and they die, faster than it takes to cast Healing Surge. Never heal the dumbass, a tried and true motto.

all achievements are becoming account wide in war within so by the time it's done (the event) and the serve is merged into retail your achievements for 1 toon should suffice for account wide progress
Does anyone know will we be allowed to choose any race, or only the ones you have unlocked through rep and quest's? I've never rolled a horde and thought this would be my opportunity hopefully!?
Only the the allied races you've unlocked, but that is pretty easy nowaways. You can of course chose any original Horde race. Once you have a lvl 40 char in retail you can get the quests for allied races. No rep needed anymore.
Character creation still follows the old rules. So allied races need to be unlocked as usual. They got rid of the rep requirements a while ago, so now all you need is a level 40 character on that particular faction. However, you still need to do the short unlock questlines for each race once you hit 40, and Remix characters can't leave Pandaria, so they won't be able to unlock allied races for you until the event ends and TWW launches. So if you're patient, this will get you those unlocks eventually, but it's not quite ideal. If you really wanted to roll a new allied race right now, your best bet would be making a regular character and powerleveling them only to 40 (pretty fast these days, especially if you dungeon spam with a tank) and then from there, make your allied race characters in the remix for fast leveling to 70.

I feel like M.O.P. needed a little more oriental themed armor sets. they could’ve done a little bit better. Like when I play an expansion, especially a theme expansion in this case an oriental dynasty, I want to feel like my character is part of the surroundings a little bit more. Hopefully, they will have some set to fill the gaps where the original expansion was left a little bit lacking .
The hardest part is choosing a class
Start with choosing a race you dont have the heritage armor for yet.
and race, i want an allied race heritage set easy
First char maybe Tank or heal for faster qs. I guess its meant to Level up a few alts because of the long duration.
I would choose a class you want to get more familiar with as you’re gonna spend some time playing it

Idk if you know, but the rep increase for your entire account applies to this as well so ALL reps if you have that increase will be easier
2:58 order of the cloud serpent. Fly around that island and pick up all black eggs until exalted. 15 per hour so usually takes 4 hours to max out

Personally questing was really fun for me during MoP expac but questing for the remix might be a dread if quest items and mobs have respawn timer.

the only thing i want out of this event is the tusks of mannoroth. nothing else interests me so that will be the only thing i focus on.
my priorities are the heirloom weapons and I plan to use the daily lockout in retail to try and farm Tusks and save myself 35k bronze

The reputation achievements are veary easy, everything gives a lot of rep so you can be exalted in a day of questing

The character can be transferred to normal servers, presumably you will keep your rep and unlock all associate achievements for doing so
