Relegating the present day story to something not in the core of the game destroys the game itself. Why AC became famous? Not because we could explore the past( other games do that as well) but for the connection between past and present. This is the heart of AC. I don't know why they don't understand this and they still continue to do games which i forgot after one week.

Unity was flawed but good, Syndicate had tone, character, and atmosphere issues but besides that was amazing, Origins was great, and Odyssey was easily the best game in the series. Mirage was good too for what it was. Valhalla is the only true bad game since Rogue. Red is looking to be a lot like Odyssey which is great for the series. I think that Assassin's Creed just isn't for you anymore if you're so stuck in the past that you refuse to move past a decade old game. You're overreacting way too much.

The info about games with Aztec, Indian and Mediterranean settings is awesome. Both Aztec/Mayan and Indian history would be so interesting to explore. And the fact that the leak highlights a game with the whole Mediterranean as its setting and not just "Greece" or "Egypt" could possibly mean Roman Empire perhaps???? All very exciting if it wasn't Ubisoft... why are micro-transactions STILL being pushed into single player games? Imagine if all that thought and effort went into actually innovating the franchise

I just miss the old assassin's creed. The Enzio, Altair and Blackflag days. Tbh I'm not in love with the micro transactions and in game purchases of modern assassin's creed. I miss the old days; You, your hidden blades, other weapons, classic stealth and notoriety mechanics and your guild of assassin's. I miss sending out assassin's and ships to do other missions in other places, calling them to aid in combat etc. However that doesn't mean I absolutely hate the modern games. Let's take Odyssey for example. As a game it's good, immersion, historically accurate, good graphics etc. But, as an assassin's creed game, it's not that good. It's more of a really good Greek simulator than an assassin's creed game. That is all.

The problem with introducing a modern part of the story into a given game is that it has to have a purpose, or we simply have a repetition of AC1 where the only reason for it is to provide a piece of lore, without any major changes to game itself. AC3 did this best because the player followed the batteries, which he later had to insert to open the gate. And the funniest exit to reality, in my opinion, was in AC4 where we get Garneau's departure plan.
Finally, All Of Us Og Players Need A Game That Has The Biggest Map Yet And Runs Like The Rock Star Games And Uses The Parkour Mechanics Of Unity And The Same Or Just Similar Combat To Assassins Creed III

I still think a more contemporary setting for Assasins Creed like in Soviet Russia or Nazi germany would be great, I've heard ridiculous comments of "oh that wouldn't work because of machine guns" forgetting about the Splinter Cell franchise or MGSV making it work. It would be a Sabatour 2.0 (in my dreams, Ubisoft are hopeless).

Coincidentally enough, the main protagonist I created was also called Elsa, who would be the solo main protagonist. It's funny how the leaks also called the Hexe protagonist Elsa too, huh

Ubisoft CEO said games are going to move to where the player doesn't own the games. Who wants to bet Infinity is the first step to that? I picture it as an Online subscription platform where we have to pay a monthly/yearly fee to get access to Infinity to play AC games.
They're going to lose a large portion of their fanbase, they're already pushing it with trying to appease everyone but actual ac fans. It's becoming a woke watered down generic fantasy game honestly.

You’re not alone, brother I also loved the Desmond era of Assassin’s Creed. Black flag unity were some of the last truly great assassin’s Creed games, despite some of the flaws. Origins, odyssey, Valhalla, Kind of felt like a Skyrim clone a good chunk of the time and felt like a Assassin’s Creed game 0% of the time I did a better research on the latest one only to get my hopes completely smashed so thoroughly that I didn’t even bother getting the game and that really breaks my heart since I used to be a zealous assassin. Creed fanboy now will be stopped keeps breaking my heart with each installment because they want to branch it out or. I am all for evolving assassin’s Creed, but I think they should’ve tried to focus more on the stealth aspects as well as the strategic formula as well as the kits and tools you can use perhaps some super human Isu elements here and there BUT nothing too outlandish similar to the golden age the franchise used to walk the boundaries between somewhat realistic, Science Fiction, fantasy. True a lot of players like to be aggressive as hell, but that shouldn’t be the main focus in my opinion don’t get me wrong. It should definitely be an option, but there are a lot of players that prefer to be more of a ruthless Hunter in the shadows rather than a bloodthirsty barbarian. Having the right balance between stealth and action is also what made the first Assassin’s Creed and the Ezio trilogy so legendary.

Its very likely that the switch will be very fast, as none of the games before red really ever used an SSD in the way an SSD can be used... So thats also the start of a new line of games that has an SSD as a necessity to play the game... This has been featured by a few newer games already and it does HEAVILY change loading times... My only concern with all that is probably the Membership concept they are aiming for... Like... No Ubisoft... We just want the games, not a susbcription based possibility...

Hexe is set in the times where the church and religion and believe had a much much tighter grasp on society... We can expect horrific sights and torture methods that are not seen so far... That time also raises the possibility of a Fae influence... During the time period the now mostly forgotten Fairy incidents and more happened with Unicorn hunts and much much more... This could very well play in Around King Arthur as a period as well... So introducing very famous myths and legends which they are chasing a lot of right now... I have some unconfirmed leaks about games set in India and China planned for around 2028, I cannot give any more details as to not give away private details... Potentially it seems that Assassins Creed may also extend to a Lore focused game set in the Isu Period which would be an absolute banger, no further details on that tho and we wont get any details till hexe or someone leaks something else anyway... I really hope they don't f*ck up in a Marvel way and hope that they don't just remake Black Flag but really give it some deserved Love...
Ghost of Tsushima's combat is what Ass Creed should have evolved into after Unity, but keeping Unity's parkour. AC should never have gone into the quasi-fantasy, wannabee Witcher 3 template it started with Origins. It stripped away everything that made the series unique, keeping only the visual trappings.
I mean in Valhalla , they had a Weekly Cosmetic rewards , they have an Animus Shop lol The battle pass would be basically a Season Pass that connects thru Infinity to Invictus .
I'm too positive about the future of AC; so many games so many new eras to choose from. What I'm worried is about the single player vs the multiplayer aspect coinciding with the live service. That's what worries and the increased use of microtransactions that will permeat through all upcoming AC games in the future.
Couldn't care less about Infinity, but I'm glad that we're FINALLY getting a mainline female protagonist only game with Hexe. I'm also beyond happy that the modern day story won't be in the mainline games going forward as I've never cared for it past Desmond. Assassin's Creed fans will be eating this decade. We just don't know if it'll be good or bad food yet.

Moving to a new game every 2 years instead of every year doesn't feel like huge change. It feels more like Ubisoft was forced to switch to this strategy since games take way too much time and money to make these days. And I guess Ubisoft wants to move to making "quadruple A" slop instead of "triple A" slop now.
Sad news. Looks like i will retire the franchise as soon as they go live service. Im an old player and loyal as i pre-ordered the first and have played almost every one since. It's a shame, but I won't budge.

If black flag is remade to be like odyssey i would fall in love with it. Right now ac4 isnt that high on my list because i hated the naval combat but i really liked the story. If its a highscale remaster ill pass. AC1 is the game in most dire need of a freshen up imo

I'm fine with the shops and stuff cuz it's all cosmetic so if you don't want to use them, you don't have to. My only hope is that they make the fee items available in game actually useful and interesting. Valhalla had the in game items be rather boring as compared to the shop items.
I said it once and I'll say it again; they really should have just stuck with Unity's engine and continued improving it as time went on. That engine had so much potential but just a little bad publicity and they immediately gave up on it in favor of the inferior new RPG gameplay (Syndicate's hand-to-hand gameplay is proof enough). I will say Origins is one of my favorite games but that's because it's not painful, leveling and power are far more carefully handled, the story and setting are fantastic, and the protagonists are fantastic (Aya still should have had a bigger role in the game, though).
They should of stick with unity engine cause I like syndicate hand 2 hand combat an origin is good with the story an all but the combat was a turn off for me I like odyssey more even tho the combat could of been better Valhalla had potential to be the best ac with hand 2 hand combat but adding a stamina bar was a turn off an thinking bout it just get me mad on how I spend 80 dollars for the golden edition with all the dlcs
Unity's engine was not good at all. Terrible optimisation, and flimsy and unstable AF, that felt like the whole underpinnings was held together by proverbial duck tape with spaghetti code
HEX takes place in a swamp and it'll probably be permanently night so, yeah the darkest assassin's Creed game is expected. (No I don't trust Ubisoft to make a mature story)

I still think a more contemporary setting for Assasins Creed like in Soviet Russia or Nazi germany would be great, I've heard ridiculous comments of "oh that wouldn't work because of machine guns" forgetting about the Splinter Cell franchise or MGSV making it work.

Coincidentally enough, the main protagonist I created was also called Elsa, who would be the solo main protagonist. It's funny how the leaks also called the Hexe protagonist Elsa too, huh

Ubisoft CEO said games are going to move to where the player doesn't own the games. Who wants to bet Infinity is the first step to that? I picture it as an Online subscription platform where we have to pay a monthly/yearly fee to get access to Infinity to play AC games.

Black flag unity were some of the last truly great assassin’s Creed games, despite some of the flaws.
Origins, odyssey, Valhalla, Kind of felt like a Skyrim clone a good chunk of the time and felt like a Assassin’s Creed game 0% of the time I did a better research on the latest one only to get my hopes completely smashed so thoroughly that I didn’t even bother getting the game and that really breaks my heart since I used to be a zealous assassin. Creed fanboy now will be stopped keeps breaking my heart with each installment because they want to branch it out or.
I am all for evolving assassin’s Creed, but I think they should’ve tried to focus more on the stealth aspects as well as the strategic formula as well as the kits and tools you can use perhaps some super human Isu elements here and there BUT nothing too outlandish similar to the golden age the franchise used to walk the boundaries between somewhat realistic, Science Fiction, fantasy.
True a lot of players like to be aggressive as hell, but that shouldn’t be the main focus in my opinion don’t get me wrong. It should definitely be an option, but there are a lot of players that prefer to be more of a ruthless Hunter in the shadows rather than a bloodthirsty barbarian.
Having the right balance between stealth and action is also what made the first Assassin’s Creed and the Ezio trilogy so legendary.

Particularly because, there are three games you can choose from and you start at a hub and pick up right where you left off in each individual game. Hope this helps just thought I needed to say this.

Ok so i got a theory about Ac Infinity i think it will be an open world game but inside that game every ac game youve purchased can be accessed when your character goes into their animus you will pick which game you end up in if that was how it actually works it would be an amazing mechanic

Its very likely that the switch will be very fast, as none of the games before red really ever used an SSD in the way an SSD can be used... Hexe is set in the times where the church and religion and believe had a much much tighter grasp on society... We can expect horrific sights and torture methods that are not seen so far... That time also raises the possibility of a Fae influence... During the time period the now mostly forgotten Fairy incidents and more happened with Unicorn hunts and much much more... This could very well play in Around King Arthur as a period as well... So introducing very famous myths and legends which they are chasing a lot of right now... I have some unconfirmed leaks about games set in India and China planned for around 2028, I cannot give any more details as to not give away private details... Potentially it seems that Assassins Creed may also extend to a Lore focused game set in the Isu Period which would be an absolute banger, no further details on that tho and we wont get any details till hexe or someone leaks something else anyway... I really hope they don't f*ck up in a Marvel way and hope that they don't just remake Black Flag but really give it some deserved Love...
Ghost of Tsushima's combat is what Ass Creed should have evolved into after Unity, but keeping Unity's parkour.
AC should never have gone into the quasi-fantasy, wannabee Witcher 3 template it started with Origins. It stripped away everything that made the series unique, keeping only the visual trappings.
I mean in Valhalla , they had a Weekly Cosmetic rewards , they have an Animus Shop lol
The battle pass would be basically a Season Pass that connects thru Infinity to Invictus .

I'm too positive about the future of AC; so many games so many new eras to choose from. What I'm worried is about the single player vs the multiplayer aspect coinciding with the live service. That's what worries and the increased use of microtransactions that will permeat through all upcoming AC games in the future.
Couldn't care less about Infinity, but I'm glad that we're FINALLY getting a mainline female protagonist only game with Hexe. I'm also beyond happy that the modern day story won't be in the mainline games going forward as I've never cared for it past Desmond.
Assassin's Creed fans will be eating this decade. We just don't know if it'll be good or bad food yet.

Moving to a new game every 2 years instead of every year doesn't feel like huge change. It feels more like Ubisoft was forced to switch to this strategy since games take way too much time and money to make these days. And I guess Ubisoft wants to move to making "quadruple A" slop instead of "triple A" slop now.
Sad news. Looks like i will retire the franchise as soon as they go live service. Im an old player and loyal as i pre-ordered the first and have played almost every one since. It's a shame, but I won't budge.

If black flag is remade to be like odyssey i would fall in love with it. Right now ac4 isnt that high on my list because i hated the naval combat but i really liked the story. If its a highscale remaster ill pass. AC1 is the game in most dire need of a freshen up imo

I'm fine with the shops and stuff cuz it's all cosmetic so if you don't want to use them, you don't have to. My only hope is that they make the fee items available in game actually useful and interesting. Valhalla had the in game items be rather boring as compared to the shop items.

I said it once and I'll say it again; they really should have just stuck with Unity's engine and continued improving it as time went on. That engine had so much potential but just a little bad publicity and they immediately gave up on it in favor of the inferior new RPG gameplay (Syndicate's hand-to-hand gameplay is proof enough).
I will say Origins is one of my favorite games but that's because it's not painful, leveling and power are far more carefully handled, the story and setting are fantastic, and the protagonists are fantastic (Aya still should have had a bigger role in the game, though).
They should of stick with unity engine cause I like syndicate hand 2 hand combat an origin is good with the story an all but the combat was a turn off for me I like odyssey more even tho the combat could of been better Valhalla had potential to be the best ac with hand 2 hand combat but adding a stamina bar was a turn off an thinking bout it just get me mad on how I spend 80 dollars for the golden edition with all the dlcs
Unity's engine was not good at all. Terrible optimisation, and flimsy and unstable AF, that felt like the whole underpinnings was held together by proverbial duck tape with spaghetti code
HEX takes place in a swamp and it'll probably be permanently night so, yeah the darkest assassin's Creed game is expected. (No I don't trust Ubisoft to make a mature story)

Im perfectly ok if there are weapon microtransactions as long as they are cool weapons. Like fable back in the day did. 99 cents for a cool weapon. But, when you want to charge me 20$ for a weapon and armor pack, you're completely out of your mind.

They are going for a Black Flag Remake because their new pirate game is a guaranteed flop and because an AC1 remake is kinda risky given the subject matter of the story.
It's not a headache Ubisoft wants for themselves, specially considering how they went out of their way to properly represent religion in Valhalla and Mirage
