I am writing from Turkey. I've been trying to play the saxophone for about a year. Since there is no one interested in saxophone where I live in Turkey, I am trying to improve myself. Among the videos I have watched so far, the best ones were the lesson videos you gave.
There is a saying in Turkey: "Don't worry about your hands." This word is used for people who do good deeds. I repeated this phrase often while watching you. You helped me understand many points that I did not understand. God bless you. Live healthy and long with your family.
One of the better lessons on youtube. The explanation and diagram of tonguing a note was excellent. I'm just starting on alto and tenor sax after 50 years of stinged instrument playing and this was great.
Just now learning how to play tenor sax over the age of 40. I do play other instruments. Mostly by ear. But with the saxophone I want to learn how to sight read and now all the notes I'm playing. This video has definitely helped thanks😊
Just started here too, im 25 yo but can't afford a sax teacher but this guy is amazing and helps me a lot
Thank you. He teaches very well, especially foe beginners at this video. 👏
This is the best Sax lesson I've seen anywhere. Well detailed and explained.
this is the best educational video i've found on this website, wow! i was confused by so much, but this video cleared everything up for me. thank you so much!
Would be great if not only you described all these special signs, but displayed with a close view how to play them (e.g. bends / scoops, mordents, etc.)
Your videos are always so informative. As a beginner. I truly appreciate what you produce.
hello, how are you today with your sax? i just started yesterday. i can make sound but it seems hard actually
@@nihatgenc1059 was doing good but had to drop it since I didn’t have proper time to play

Excellent teaching
Thank you
You are a very good teacher
Great intro to music notation.
Great lesson , but I disagree with treatment of accidentals about 6 min in. The second, higher F in same measure would also be played #.
Hi. Accidentals unlike the key signature only affect the notes on the same line or space where the accidental occurs within the bar. So a # on the F note will only affect the notes on that line or space and all other F notes will not be affected by the accidental in that bar. I looked it up again in my music theory book 'the AB guide to music theory part 1' This also applies to grace notes. If a grace note has an accidental, it will affect all the other notes on that line or space. This is often overlooked in transcriptions. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks so much for this. I was looking for the name and explanation for a tie note on my first practice sheet.Invaluable.
I have a main question===> How to tongue the ' 1+er ' ? shall we tongue it as one note
Hi. The best way to know how to tongue a sequence of notes is to listen to the original and copy what you hear. Usually accented notes are tongued. If you are referring to the start of the Kobayashi song then I would tongue the '1' and tongue the 'and' and slur it to the 'er' which is held into the following beat. Then tongue the 'and' and slur it to the 'er' again. But this is just my way of doing it based on what I hear. There are other ways to tongue these notes. There is a video somewhere on RUclips where someone goes through the entire song in 3 parts explaining how to play it if you are interested. Hope this answers your question. If not ask again and I will try to answer it better. Thanks.
Wow, daunting, but very useful, thank you
How can I enroll to this course
Thank you very much! ❤️🙏
Good beginning
very good, thanks.
i try it to understand but how you know the first note is G ? first you must know in which scale the song is written ? so yes how you know that ? i hope someone can explane it to me
Hi. Any note on the 2nd line from the bottom will be a G (see 2.13 every good boy deserves favour). The key signature tells us what scale (key) the song is in (see 1.45 key signatures). The key signatures are the sharps and flats written on the staff after the treble clef and before the 44 time signature. If there are no sharps or flats right at the beginning of the music it means the song is in the key of C and therefore the note is a G. If the key signature had 2 sharps at the beginning (F# and C#) it would mean the song was in the key of D. This would mean that the first note would still be G. So we first need to look at the key signature on the music which tells us what scale (key) the song is in and which notes should be played with sharps and flats. Hope this explains this. On my channel I have a series of videos explaining how to read sheet music which goes into all this in more detail. Thanks.
Thank you so much sir
