Awesome review! I love when a shoe comes along that gets me excited to hit the trails, that's worth a fair amount of $$$ alone! Went to order these and they're sold out 😭 I guess I'll just have to wait for the standard Genesis review!
I’m a Salomon fan boy, with that said I can’t run in many of their trail shoes due to the toe box width. But with the S/LAB Genesis I must say, win win I took these out of the box and ran a 41 mile trail race with 11,000 ft of elevation gain and had no issues during the race or next day foot pain. Other than normal ultra race fatigue 🤙🏽 great review and thanks for the content.
That's great news! I can't wait to get some long runs in these.
thank you for your review !
Awesome review! I really want try them!! Coolest looking Solomon she yet!
I have truly enjoyed them. Check back in if you get them and let me know what you think!
Awesome review!
Thanks!
Good to know these don’t have that rubbing like the sence ride 5 with the tongue. Had trouble with that aswell!
Yes. It was a relief!
Thanks for the review. I had not seen this new colorway: much nicer than the original grey and yellow colorway. FYI the Matryx fabric is produced by a 3rd party company and also used in some Hoka and Merrell shoes. Super lightweight and durable as you pointed out. The rectangular plastic pieces on the sides are meant to improve stability. I still hesitate between buying these or the SLAB Ultra 3 (same Matryx material) or the new VJ Maxx2, which is a little lighter with amazing VJ grip. Can you compare these with the SLAB Ultra 3?
I actually can! I ran a 45 mile race last year in the SLAB Ultra 3's. The Ultra 3's are more flexible and feel more agile. Even tho they are basically the same weight. You do get quite a bit more protection in the Genesis tho. The Genesis feel solid, reliable, and the energy return is awesome. If I had to choose between the two shoes I'd personally go with the Genesis. I'm in love with them.
Did you try the Skyway models? It felt to me (in the store) that the midsole was very similar and quite a departure from other Salomon shoes
I did not try the skyway models... so I'm not much help there!
Bonjour,
Merci pour la présentation!
Est ce que la nouvelle Genesis est la même à part la couleur ?
Merci beaucoup
No. There are some pretty big differences. My review on the gensis shoes will be out soon.
Salmon's website states the S lab has max cush and the regular version has moderate, but they both have the same stack heel/toe. Is the S Lab foam that much more cush?
If there is a difference then it is minimal. I could not tell a difference personally.
@@JustAnotherRunner Thanks !
Hello, is there big improvements from the older version of this shoe ?
I'm not aware of an older version... If they had one I didn't run in it.
Here's the reason: it's the midsole. Salomon make the best midsoles in the world by like a billion times. They never give up. Speaking of midsole, did you ever try the slab pulsars
No i haven't tried the S/LAB pulsars. I did try the normal Pulsars tho. I had a few minor issues with them but I still liked them!
