An Oxford-educated politology expert coming from a country with a thousand-year experience in neighborhood relationships with Russian type of mentality and warfare. They knew whom to invite to answer these questions. P.S. Russia did not exist as a country 1000 years ago, but East Slavs, it later emerged from were fighting battles against the Kingdom of Poland.

Correction. The experience is c. 500 years long because Poland encountered Moscow as an entity only through support for their Lithuanian allies. In fact this year there the 510th anniversary of the first main encounter, on the fields of Orsha in 1514.
There is a thousand year long experience with Rus and its successors mainly in Ruthenia/Ukraine and Belarus which was and is as between countries which border each other - alliances, wars and anything between.
With Moscow it was basically 500 years of hostilities.

@@tomaszmankowski9103 Thank you for adding these details. I edited my comment to clarify that I did not mean "1000" as experience with Russian state in its today's formal shape with capital in Moscow, but rather experience with Russian type of mentality and warfare, dating back to e.g. 1013 when Polish king Chrobry fought against the Kievian Rus - the cultural ancestor of today's Belarus, Russia and Ukraine (called also "Rus' land" in the past and governed by Rurik dynasty residing in Kiev, but also in Novgrod in today's Russia). 1000 years ago Poland looked way more officially organized than the East Slavic tribes, whose political forms evolved more during following centuries. But I would not like this to evolve into a political discussion 😉

I love the Poles, Lithuanian’s, Latvians, and Estonians, Czech’s, Romanians, Bulgarians (you too Moldova) and of course the Ukrainians. Their citizens and leaders are absolutely courageous! After living under the oppressiveness yoke of communism they understand the consequences of allowing Putin a full or even a partial victory. I pray they will never be dominated and oppressed again. From a citizen of the United States, we thank you for your leadership and resolve in Europe. I’m afraid that many in the EU have gone soft having thrived during and after the Cold War with the Soviets and then now the 30+ years after its fall, their is a since of denial that is difficult to understand? The USA and UK are with all of Europe, but we have extra respect the countries formerly known as Eastern Europe and they have a special place in our hearts and we know we can learn from you as well as help you. "fun" fact: These racist jokes in the USA originated from the time when Poland was under the Partitions, and (mostly) German propagandists tried to diminish support for the Polish independence cause by portraying Polish immigrants as backward, dumb, barbaric, etc.
It's a classic dehumanization tactic - "you see, it's not that we're bad, it's that they're the lower type of people, so they must be subjugated". First, the USA had the same jokes about Black people - lower race, and then they were redirected towards Poles or Irish (Great Britain used the same propaganda campaign when it wanted to subjugate Ireland). To such an extent that Poles in the States had the status of "lesser whites" and were persecuted by the Ku Klux Klan. It's a paradox considering that at the same time, Poles were fighting in the American Revolution, inventing and developing the American industry.
I don't know if these prejudices are actually still popular in the States, but it would be good for people to realize where they come from. Prejudices survive because of the ignorance of the audience.

If you think that the Brits voted Tories out because of Ukraine then you neither understand why Tories really lost, nor the simple fact that the British political establishment is fully in support of Ukraine, just like the majority of the population, and rightly so. Furthermore, to suggest that it's the UK (as an extension of the Biden administration) who are warmongering instead of the actual aggressor, Russia, is truly appalling.

I swear to god most people do live in some delusional land. Sikorski is the same person who called anyone who has doubts about Russia as russophobe. He and the party of his couple months ago voted against strengthening Poland's eastern border. Just bc of fact he disliked the previous government.
But let's forget about that and a few other things and make of him a great diplomat. Bc people these times and age are lazy to check the facts even ones from just a couple of months back. He, like most things in the modern world, is a product of its time. Who cares what he really said a few months, one year or 2 years ago, right? That's disgusting.

If it is a deal means it is a deal. When all members agreed to pay 2% that means you need to pay 2%. Not you pay 2% but Iceland has good location they can pay less. You pay 2% for tanks and another countr pay 2% for radars or u boots, depens of locations. That is meaning of agreement to pay 2% GDP.
