Today is huge. Remote Designs is the culmination of the community we have built on this channel. Without you all I never would've dreamed to launch a dry bag line that has gone all over the world. Last year we sold out quickly and due to popular demand, I've brought it back for another round. This time adding a waterproof hip pack to the range. Thank you to everyone for the support!

@@GatewoodBrown definitely upward, im from the island San Pedro which is in Belize and there are fisherman everywhere here it’s basically a living here, saw 4 dudes from USA getting of a plane and coming here to visit the other day with Remote Designs bags the other day and fell inlove, all of them had nothing but praises for the brand I’m definitely getting one!!! After months of waiting after I discovered you I finally got a backpack! Got it in sand. It will be ideal for the three day kayaking trip I’m taking with my bro’s. PUMPED! Love the 20L dry bags I got a while ago too!

i have been waiting for months to grab this bag bro, so pumped to get it. I commented on a vid about a year ago now talking about how i was getting into kayaking and hoping i would like it. @@GatewoodBrown my biggest mistake was i brought a old wetsuit and it was alot heavier coming back and shoes dont wear water shoes on the hike lol take 2 pair. i use sawer squeeze and 2 cnoc bags and filter to cut weight. stay hydrated and bring a headlight.
This is all key advice haha. Definitely count on your wetsuit being heavy during winter months. Appropriate shoes, water filtration and lots of food is key too

Awesome, man! These may be just what I need for a special...ummm... challenge, that I am looking at attempting in the near future. Especially the hip pack. I have been looking for one to use while biking. BTW, I noticed that you included some biking footage. I didn't realize that you rode, too. There aren't many of us in the RUclips world that have that much variance in content. Most are super specialized. Sometimes, I wonder if that is why my channel grows so slowly...but then I remember that I don't put out enough regularly scheduled content! LOL!
Haha thanks my man! It works great for biking, one of the main activities I designed it for. We love to mtb for sure! RUclips definitely rewards niching down in the beginning. Otherwise it’s hard to reach an audience. Choose one activity that you enjoy making videos for the most and push that hard
@@GatewoodBrown The problem is that I get bored easily. I have to spread my activities out! BTW, this challenge that we are looking at attempting would be right down your alley, but it is specifically designed for 50 year olds. You’re a ways from that age, but it is knocking at the door for me!

I just got the hip pack (aka kayak, hiking, fishing bag). It is a nice size (It can fit my Nikon D750 with F4 24-120). I tested the waterproof feature by placing a paper towel in both zippers(awesome that even the front small pocket is waterproof) and then holding it under water agitating it for 4 minutes and then I left it for like 2 hours with some 4X4s on top of it, still bone dry.... I also got the backpack months ago and I love the size. I think they are both great for whatever you want to use them for. I am glad the new backpacks come with the velcro, mine has the original snaps which are a little questionable. I love the mounting points the backpack has, maybe hip pack v2.0 will add some loops to easily secure it. Both products seem to be bombproof. The TPU material is MUCH different than standard quality PVC. I wish my inflatable kayaks were built with it (they would have cost 3X as much though....).

Gatewood, ordered one on Friday, can't wait to gear test it, definitely going to purchase the hip pack too, going to be looking for the restock on the 20L bag also, have plans to purchase 3 or 4 of those for myself and gifts for my River Rat crew . Your hip pack product immediately caught my eye because of the zipper too that allows to grab something quick instead of messing with the roll top. The price is amazing to boot! But - any chance you will make one that doesn’t have such a giant logo? I’d rather not feel like I am wearing a billboard
Probably in the future! No plans yet as I’ll need to sell through current stock. I think it would be fun to have a patch on the front and a smaller logo elsewhere. Thank you for the interest!

We are big fans of the backpack but wonder how it will sit over the hip pack. Hopefully take some weight off the shoulders. Guess I’ll have to buy and find out.
The backpack comes with a waist belt and chest strap so that will definitely help take weight off the shoulders!

how is that hip bag attached to your kayak between your legs?
I loop the hip straps around the base of the seat to make it secure, but also in useable reach while paddling. I’ve found that works perfect for me

I would only use it for that in an emergency situation. It is not designed to be a flotation all device

I haven’t had it rated but it is water tight. I don’t recommend for extended submersions but certainly it’s withstood all the abuse I’ve put it through
What type of fabric are the packs made of?
1680D TPU. Very durable material that has withstood the test of time. I’ve been putting them through their paces for 2 years now and not even close to a sign of failing

They ran out of stock! The new roll top backpack arrives in June and the new zippered version will launch in 2024. It means a lot that you’d considering supporting through remote designs. Definitely the biggest contributor to making content!

It will! I shoot an A7iii with a sigma 24-70 2.8 which is a massive setup. Fits great!

I’ll have to check actual dimensions but it fits my Sony a7iii with sigma 24-70 f2.8. That’s no small rig and I find it to be perfect for storing it

Currently out of stock! I’ll be releasing a submersible duffel this spring and a submersible roll top backpack this summer

@@Drebole I should have plenty in stock when they come back in this summer. All new design too so I won’t be doing a pre-order. Rather just available when stocked up. I’d hate to take pre-orders and then the supply chain messes with delivery timing. The roll top will be 30L and pretty good size. I do eventually want to make a 40L zipper but the duffel may be a good bigger option at 60L. It’ll be backpack primarily for the carry system instead of grab handles
I have tons of roll top styles, not the biggest fan of them. I may buy the duffel just to support you and torture test in the ozarks.
@@Drebole That would mean a lot! It'll have a TIZIP closure which is among the best waterproof zippers out there. Really trying to step it up this year. The ozarks and Arkansas have quickly become a favorite destination of mine! Probably going to do 2 rivers up that way this year.
