  • This ride in a Waymo One took place on Friday, September 8th, 2023. There are two short cuts at the beginning and at the end, because I needed to switch to the app on my phone, with which I also was recording the video.

    That's sweet. As long as I'm not held responsible for when the car goes on a murderous rampage I'd ride in it.

      Um waymo is responsible for every crash they make lol. That's why they are lvl 4 on the autonomous list while tesla is lvl 2

    It should expand its service area not just S.F. city.

      It depends on the commercial driverless licenses from the California PUC. They now got a license to also serve the Bay Area down to Sunnyvale. Also they do have a commercial driverless licenses for LA.
      Read more about that here: thelastdriverlicenseholder.com/2024/03/01/waymo-licensed-to-massively-expand-robotaxi-service-in-california/

      43,000 people died in car crashes in the US in 2023 , over one million were injured.
      Summary: only a fool allows a human to drive a vehicle with them in it.

    Why do they even need a steering wheel and odometer and such? The four seats should be facing each other with a console swivel tablet in the middle!
    This technology has Waymo to do

      They already started testing such vehicles. Look at the Cruise Origin, which also is wheel chair accessible: thelastdriverlicenseholder.com/category/gm/cruise-automation/
      Or at the new Zoox vehicle: thelastdriverlicenseholder.com/2023/07/27/zoox-begins-road-tests-with-bew-robotaxi-in-las-vegas/
      Here are also images of vehicles without steering wheel: thelastdriverlicenseholder.com/2023/08/11/what-does-the-californian-robotaxi-approval-mean/

      I waited for over a year to get my account activated. But Waymo announced this week that they expect to bring down the waitlist within the end of the year, so be patient. You may take your first ride on your own account before Christmas.

      Yes, definitely trusting that more than some human drivers and lane splitting motorbikes.

      @MarioHerger  9 месяцев назад

      @@gavin375 Nos so easy. While it is open, you still need to get on a waiting list first, as there is too much demand. Alone in SF there are 100,000 people on the waiting list for Waymo (which currently operates about 200 vehicles there).

    내가볼때 짐을 싣고 이동할수있는 자율주행 택시도 나올듯, 봉고차나, 스타렉스 트럭크기같은 짐을 넣고 옮길수있는 이런 자율주행 택시? 이런것들이 예약제로 시간제로 이동주행거리 이렇게 계산해서 쓸수있을듯, 그래서 짐 옮길때, 자율주행 트럭같은거 불러서 짐도 옮기고 그럴듯?
