You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the password. I love any help you can give me!
I was an opioid addict for about 8 years. When I was 18, my best friend and I started taking 2 or 3 vicodin before going to parties. After a couple months of doing that, we were popping 5-8 at a time, mixing in valium or some xanax. Maybe 3-4 months later, we had graduated to snorting OxyContin and by this time, we were using every day, instead of every 2-3 days. After about 6 months of using oxy (and valium, whenever we could find it) our primary dealer said he was gonna be out of oxy for a while but he got these new things called opana. Since no one had any idea what they were, they were unbelievably cheap. I think we got our first 40mg opanas for $8 a piece. Back before the formula was eventually changed to make them virtually impossible to snort, those pills were the strongest opioids on the planet. We were snorting multiple OC 80’s per day and still, snorting an entire 40mg opana would make us throw up probably 6/10 times. Not like throwing up drunk, you’d basically just throw up once and then you’ll be in zombie heaven for several hours. To this day, those opanas were hands down the best and strongest opioids on the planet. I think we did basically nothing but opana for 2-3 years. Eventually, the prices went out of control. A single opana 40 got all the way up to $150 per pill. Maybe $125 if you were buying a lot of them. And shortly after that, the formula was changed to make them impossible to snort and everyone went back to ol’ reliable, oxycontin, which drove the prices for those way up as well. One of my pill guys started offering me heroin instead and I kept passing on it - until it was literally the only thing I could find. I spent the next 4 years snorting and smoking heroin. Never started shooting it, though. As bad as I already was, it just seemed like a big step in the wrong direction and I’m so glad I never took that step. Roughly 8 years down the drain. If anyone actually reads this, I finally got into treatment when I was 26. I’m 31 now, been married for a year and a half, bought my first house last year and trying to start a family. Lost a lot of time but very grateful for where I am now.
god I remember opanas, was this back in like 09 or 2010? Hands down the strongest opiate I ever did until this new opaite called Fetnayl for cancer patients where you could sliver off tiny section of a patch and suck on it came out. Anyways I enjoyed your story because it's exactly what happen to me. I'm still on suboxone to this day trying build up the finances and ability to take a shit time of work off to get off it.
@@Drelam yea man, exactly. 2009 - 2011 was sort of the opana golden years. They were cheap, in the beginning at least, and unbelievably powerful. It still blows my mind that we, some suburban kids, had no trouble getting our hands on pills that were better than any heroin I’ve ever gotten. I grew up just outside of Houston, which has been known as a pill mill for many years and doctors were overprescribing the hell out of opana because they were all over the place and there’s very few people who actually need a pain pill that strong for a legitimate ailment.
Thank you for sharing your story, OP. I hope you and yours are staying safe, happy, and healthy! It's a daily battle to stay on this side, and I hope you and yours appreciate the victory that is every day further away from that past. Much love and many prayers sent everyone's way 🙏 ❤️
I truly did not expect this show to be this great. Terrific job, fellas! I bet Norton was hitting Ant with Chippa chime-ins via text the whole time, though. Haha.
littleteethkeith Glad somebody else noticed that. I was just listening to the old o and a clip about the catach a predator show and noticed that. He just talks in that tv news show voice in general, but the word sex really stands out.
The bullying problem is not necessarily a technology issue (but it does make it worse)...it's a parenting issue. And it's not going away any time soon. Bullying is built into us to figure out who the weak ones are. The difference between now and the 60s is that kids in the 60s were told "suck it up...figure it out...punch back". Now they're told to feel sorry for themselves and that they are special and should never be criticized.
Yeah, Idk how anyone that loses their child or children in awful, violent, horrific, ways are able to not just try to live life as best as they even can in that situation but actually be as strong as John Walsh was and had to be after going through that Nightmare
You don’t understand how someone would NOT be able to live life normally after their child dies a horrible death? You worded it pretty strangely but if that’s what you did mean, how can you not understand that? Isn’t it obvious it would be insanely difficult and often probably impossible?
He's so busy paying attention to the OD deaths from the recreational users that he doesn't mention the chronic pain sufferers. I saw a funeral home director saying "I'm sick of burying kids". He gets to have his cake and eat it, too. Gets the junkies sick and then still gets the business from the chronic pain sufferers who commit suicide because they have no avenue to turn to. I had a neighbor who had legs that looked like a jigsaw puzzle. She commited suicide when she was thrown off her meds cold turkey. Good goin' guys.
Bahahahaha!!!! "The best home defense is an alarm system and a dog or two." After someone says something so dumb, it's a little more difficult to take anything they say seriously. I'd LOVE to ask him why he feels that's better than a firearm. Even if those things deter or stop 99.99% of home invasions, a firearm is still better because a 9mm slug through the head stops 100% of it. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he's anti-gun. Anthony literally laughed when he said that, and you can't blame him. People will say things that don't even make sense, if it supports their opinion on a certain political issue.
I so expected Anthony to take off running. The second I saw Chris Hansen walk in it reminded me of all the time on the O and A show where Anthony would say “Run! Why not run! How about run?”
Never understood why people blame the drug dealer, everybody is free to make their own choices. Every drug should be legal in my opinion, it's up to you if you want to destroy your body. I don't get why someone else needs to make that decision for me, I guess some people are just super weak minded.
MrBrenman21 If people were intelligent it wouldn't be an issue at all. All these laws do is lock people up, and then the next guy takes his place. You can't get illegal drugs that produce money off the streets.
Jayo Caine Does making a drug illegal make it difficult for a kid to buy a drug? No. It's easier for a kid to buy illegal drugs than it is to buy a pack of beer nowadays. You're not really making a point lol. Kids will be kids, I've done a ton of different drugs in my day but Ive always had the common sense not to do certain drugs. Teach your kids, adults shouldn't have to lose freedoms because you don't want to talk to your kids. The government doesn't need to tell us what we can and can't consume into our own bodies.
I suppose I could forgive the entrapment if they made the fake victims younger. They didn't actually go after pedophiles, just underage which really are different
Solving the opioid crisis is going to take embracing the only effective treatment for opioid use disorders. 90% of patients who remain in medically assisted treatment with methadone for one year will be free from criminality, and illicit substances. The current stigma that MAT is just replacing one addiction for another is not consistent with the science. There are a lot of medical conditions that require long term or life long treatment with medications. Somehow when it comes to opioid use disorders people judge "success" solely by being substance free. Some people are successful in becoming completely free from illicit substances without medication but it is a very small number and the quality of life can be abysmal with long term post acute withdrawal symptoms and symptoms of indigenous endorphin deficiency including depression, inability to feel happiness, chronic pain etc... When you judge "success" by quality of life and contribution to society regardless of whether you take a medication for your condition MAT wins hands down. The current clinic system is based on STIGMA and backwards thinking. Supervised dosing in early treatment is helpful but that can be accomplished at a local physicians office or a community pharmacy. Once someone has been in treatment for ~6 months there is no reason not to provide a monthly prescription from a regular doctor like any other medical condition. Once we expand access to this "gold standard" treatment and treat it like any other medical treatment we will see a decrease in crime, overdose, death, incarceration, healthcare costs, etc...

Hansen is the investigative reporter I grew up with. He does the work and the info he tells us is so informative:
The bullying problem is not necessarily a technology issue (but it does make it worse)...it's a parenting issue. And it's not going away any time soon.
