- Veteran actor Raj Kapoor welcomes Bollywood stars including Lata Mangeshkar, Aruna Irani, Twinkle Khanna, Rajesh Khanna, Nirupa Roy, etc at the Silver (or is it the Golden?) Jubilee of RK Films in Mumbai. Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna Raj Kapoor and his son Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor arrive at the R K Films studios for the celebration.
This is the silver jubilee - celebrating 25 years of RK Films. Raj Kapoor proved that he was the stalwart of Hindi film industry. Shashi Kapoor looks fabulous and Dimple Kapadia gorgeous.

It was purely Lataji's victory function all the way. The way she humbled Raj Kapoor to make her sing again for him after 7 years after his failed associations with SHarada and Asha; and to have her selected LP give music over shankar jaikishan though jaikishan was dead by that time and only shankar was alive. No power like lady power.
Rishi was really very charming and handsome. And in those days natural look was all you had and that meant a lot. No six pack, no muscles no surgery. You look what you actually were

If someone can notice, the real powerful personality over here is our simple Didi, Lata Ji. She sang in Bobby after a tiff with Raj kapoor because he did not want to pay her due in form of royalty. She did not sing any song in RK's penultimate movie Mera Naam Joker. That movie flopped to the extent that RK became almost insolvent. Then he somehow agreed to pay royalty to Lata ji and she agreed to sing in Bobby. All songs in Bobby were super hit and this made RK to realize the importance of Lata Mangeshkar
All songs of Mera Naam Joker too were super hits even though Lata's voice was not there. SJ actually won Filmfare award for it, The reason for its failure was probably that it was very long with two intervals.
MNJ had a fab album and did not flop because of the music. Likewise, Bobby did not succeed because of Lata.

The great Raj Kapoor built a legacy from scratch. The studio was a result of his hard work and effort. I cannot believe that not one Kapoor after his death could not salvage this studio. How can they sell it. Kareena, Karisma, Ranbir could easily have put in money together to restore it after the fire. I am glad Raj ji is not alive to see the shambles. Credit to Rishi for making Aa Ab Laut Chalen but seems as nobody else was interested in financing any more films under the RK banner. If any of the Kapoors sell the rights for Raj Kapoor films to be remade for money, then that will literally be the final nail in the coffin.

Hmmm! There is something awry with the body language between Raj Kapoorji and Lataji, two of my most favorite Hindi film personalities. Without them, we would not have had the commercial Hindi Cinema industry and the Hindi Music industry as we know of them today. It seems to have been festering for a couple of years at least, from circa 1975-76, when RK Films had its Silver Jubilee, to circa 1977, when Lataji walked out of the recording of Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
The most handsome in kapoor family was the one nd only shashi kapoor infact in whole bollywood.
