Hi, just found you and subscribed. I am in USA and appreciate learning the food prices, etc. in UK. So much cheaper than our food! Anyway, Happy New Year! Carry on and I will look forward to your next update. 😊
@@debbieframpton3857 Also the cost of housing and energy is way out of proportion to wages here in the UK ! It's a good thing that at least one item, food, is still affordable.
Hi Tania, I've just discovered your RUclips channel. I used to read your Frugal in Essex blog. So good to see you back and hear all your news. Anna in France
@@annatreadwell6644 Anna, lovely to hear from you. I hope you and your loved ones are well. I remember chatting with you often. Thanks for viewing and commenting. X
Happy new year to you too. I perform better with a low spend month than no spend. But as I say 'you do you' . Always do things you believe you will achieve and it will lead to success. X
Hi, Tania nice to see you looking so well and back on your frugal journey. Good luck with your new channel. ❤ Sue, former blogging buddy from Our New Life in the Country. ❤
Hi Tanya. A blast from the past !. I followed you on frugal in Essex and you helped me so much. I was under ´Kirrie . Νw retired for 5 years wow how time flies. In Athens for 3 months Brexit kind of scuppered my plans to move permanently. You look good !. X
Wow, Kirrie. I was actually going to mention you in a vlog. Because if i remember correctly you were paying down your mortgage and would regularly transfer small amounts of money ie: a coffee you didn't buy a bun you didn't eat etc. This had a profound effect on your balance. Well done. And lovely to hear from you. X
@ ah yes you remember rightly Tania. I had a window of opportunity to retire at 55 if I could pay the mortgage off quickly and live on nhs pension ( not huge but enough until Gov pension kicks in 12 years later ) . Paid a 25 year mortgage off 12 years early. Was a challenge every single penny was scrutinised before spending. Had lodgers for 6 years. All food was yellow sticker, some people laughed, they don’t now as they are still working. Became such a challenge but the vision of freedom was greater !. You helped me so much with motivation. For that I thank you !.
@ yes you helped me so much!. All food was yellow sticker, had lodgers, some laughed how frugal I was. They don’t now. Payed mortgage off 12 years early. Admit I was extreme but I had a goal!. Achieved!. Now can party but still find it hard to spend money on frivolous things, actually flights to Athens, rent there comes first!. Living the dream now!.
@heatherrobinson7291 goodness that must be a difficult situation to be in. I do count myself lucky that I own my own home and certainly don't take it for granted. However it does come with the financial drain of constantly having to maintain it and have savings to pay for things that can go wrong. A new boiler us over £2k these days. Thanks for commenting. X
well i have only State pension with Full pension Credit ❤ not that i am complaining i am already used to living. on small money all my Adult life ❤ my Treasures are in Heaven i have no savings 😂but that does not bother me ❤ i am a Widow age 66 ❤been a widow 7 years ❤
Sometimes the more we have the worse off we become. That's why I've gone back to basics. It's easy to forget the difference between needs and wants. Well done on what you are achieving every single month. X
I too have an occupational pension as well as a widow's pension .This year, I shall try to save rather than spend and I wondered what you will actually pay for from your State Pension ? Although I don't drive anymore or have a pet, Neither of those come cheap . I wish you well on your project and look forward to seeing you again!
Thanks Betty. For the next year all my household bills, car, everything will come out of my state pension. And although I'm putting £100 into a holiday fund each month, that could get swallowed up should a repair job come along.
@LivingonaUKStatePension I shall be interested to see how you get on. I find that day to day budgeting is fairly easy to manage but then in the next 10 days I have a bi-annual hair appointment, extensive dental work ( on top of monthy insurance ) and a couple more wellbeing appointments. It's not that I do'n't have the money but there is no way that my widow's pension would cover these costs.i suppose the truth is that now I am out of debt , another story, I just don't want to spend the money .After a lifetime of being a spendaholic, I am now the complete opposite !
It is not true that dietary fat is bad for humans or animal so you could save money by buying your dog fatty mince or cuts of meat and fat is good for you. The problem in sugar or other carbs cut them out of the meal and the fat is good for
Along with paying down your charges, I think you.+ everyone needs an emergency fund! Watching from the US, living on Social Security + two small pensions. Just found you today.
Thank you. Yes having an emergency fund certainly gives you some security and less sleepless nights. Just running a car these days, can be a money pit. Thanks for commenting. X

Probably a cheaper cost of living due to wages

Welcome! THANKS for subscribing. X
Hi, I love your channel. To save a bit more money, could you buy the cheaper 20%fat mince for your dog and drain the fat off once it's cooked?
Wow - my rent is more than my State Pension!
