Lisa Loeb seems like a very nice person.
I’ve met her a few times and we have some mutual friends in common - she is very very sweet
Seems like I remember a reality show she had a bunch of years ago. There wasn’t a moment when she seemed to be a person I wouldn’t want to be around.

The song brings tears to my eyes I love the way Daryl Hall and John Oates originally did it the song has a personal meaning to me you see I lost my 26 year old son Jake in March of 21 I did a short video with some photographs of him and put them to about 30 seconds of this song but the whole song It just fits it makes me think of my son and that one day will be together again love Daryl Hall and John Oates music their music it's part of my photo album going all the way back to 1980 when I was just a kid
So deeply sorry your son died. I know that deep loss never goes away with the loss of your child. It's hell for awhile but the beautiful memories are helpful. Much love and healing to you and yours.

I don’t know. Some songs should be left alone. It’s a song of hope and significant meaning and backdrop. Fred Hampton was just shot and killed by the cops in Chicago where the original band is from. MLK and RFK Sr were just killed. Sorry to sound so woke , which I’m not but some songs should be sung by original members in context of the times it was written. She trivializes it at the end by getting the lyrics wrong, then seguing into her hair. SMH.

I always think of that scene from Boyz in the Hood. When Tre and his father return from fishing , this song comes on the radio. Just as they pull into his father’s drive way and Tre’s friends are getting hauled away for stealing. The mother with that cig flip is killer.

this famous.They really thought out the lyrics to give us a great plan for hope right now.
paul stanley from the band kiss did a good version of this song with [paul stanley's soul station]. the drummer from kiss is also in that side project band. the drummer played motown and soul groing up and paul has done the phntom of the opera in toronto wich they extended had him to do more shows cause they were selling out, back in the day

It doesn't have the sprit of the original. Good thing the band is there. The outro chords are wrong also. It's a great song it just falls a little bit flat. Listen to isaac hayes and joan osborne cover it.
She has an interesting voice but it gets old after a couple of tunes. Maybe she will come out with a line of all black clothing to go with her line of glasses.

There have been many versions of this song, most of them beautiful, but in my opinion, none capture the true essence and feel of this song as was captured by Cubie and the Five Stair Steps. This version is on par. Great Job!
