    Not just to save money, but for me cheap hotels even average hotels are gross dirty and smelly.

    You can sew storage pockets in the curtain with the extra fabric.

    Canopy with side sliders for ventilation. Use 2x4 on edge set into lower bed pocketswith plywood top to keep cold conduction down. Room to slide things underneath plywood. Folding foam mattress and sleeping bag.

    I loved this video. It made coverage much simpler for me. I myself have a Tacoma and I’m 5 ft. so I believe it’s enough room for me. Thank you for the idea of the dowel with curtain (seems easier that reflectix all around). I’ll be residing in the truck. Rentals have gotten way too expensive for one person to keep a roof overhead.
    Thanks again for the video. God Bless🙏🏻🇺🇸

    Single cab guys know how real the struggle is 🤣

      Single cabs are less expensive, but obviously have less room.

      Put a used camper shell in it and sleep like a king. Or even make your own "retractable" one on the cheap

    I have a truck with a camper shell. I lay four planks and lay a mattress on top to sleep on. I have the underneath for storage

      Good idea. I have since also purchased a truck topper and have a sleeping platform.

    I'm thinking about getting a rental pickup truck (not a van) and sleeping inside of it for a while in order to get to a job and save money for, hopefully, a minivan. What do you think of that idea and do you have any suggestions?

    • @NomadicRVLiving
      @NomadicRVLiving  2 года назад +3

      I would recommend you rent a van which would have a lot more room. Unless you are really short, it is difficult to stretch out fully in the back seat of a truck. If you have not already checked out Bob Wells of Cheaprvliving, he has a lot of good videos and ideas for people who have limited budgets.

    Good tip about getting extra 6 inches by elevating up above the panel. How do you block out the back (those towards the cargo bed) windows

    Where is your travel trailer ?? How does the Tundra do towing the trailer ? What is your mileage with and without camper?

    • @NomadicRVLiving
      @NomadicRVLiving  3 года назад

      My trailer is stored in Colorado. I have not towed it yet since I am still breaking in the Tundra and it says not to tow anything until 5,000 miles. Since it's supposed to be able to tow almost 10,000 pounds, it should easily pull my 2,100 pound trailer, even with the wind drag. I am very impressed that I get between 18 and 19 mpg on the highway going 65. In the city the truck only get around 10 mpg, but I don't plan to do much city driving.

    What about single cab

    • @NomadicRVLiving
      @NomadicRVLiving  3 года назад +1

      Having a back seat allows one to store more items. Single cabs are less expensive, but very difficult to resell since few people want them.
