Yeah in my head my 2 options are - zoomancer druid with landslide or fortify/pulverise bear and stack gems for overpower damage. I love the fortify mechanic. Thanks again Don.
@@bloodline271 hmmm big crit damage will probably hit harder, maybe? idk depends on a lot of factors like how much hp you can get, how much OP modifier etc.
I love this style of video for this topic. The animation quirk is fun and helps bring some smiles to the learning process. Also, thank you very much for the breakdowns and research. This is deeply appreciated, and I look forward to seeing more of what you release for the game.
For the barb. You can do overpower by aspect that guarantees overpower after swapping weapon 8 times or theres a specific node in paragon board that guarantees overpower after 12 secs
Druids may lack talents and pragons that add OP dmg, BUT: 1. like mentioned in the vid their absolute priority stat is linked to OP dmg, they also have some great ways to generate fortify (both through bear and earth skills, a paragon board and passives that grant additional fortify. if we take some unique and legendary aspects tied to those into account - you Get ballistic aspect - +2 to earth skills when you have fortify (and a guaranteed OP every 10 kills with an earth skill) 12% dmg from earth skills when you have at least 50% fortify, core skills deal additional dmg based on fortify lvl (this one works for barbs and necros too) and the unique for bear form is your main form (there's also the aspect that turns pulverize into an earth skill) you can get pretty insane synergies. it's likely that adding passives to further increase overpower on druids would make them one trick ponies because it would be unwise to skip on the massive stacking potential there.
You forgot that druid has easy access to chance to crit with vine creeper and the earth skills like bolder passives making it easy to land those critical OP numbers
I'm kinsa of concerned about OP damage scaling to the end game. As it does not scale with %modifiers like vulnerability. I guess we need the OP formula to figure things out.
Ok weapon master barbarian incomming. Alternate 2 skills that switch weapons while building fortify then upheaval/kick an overpower with 2 handed beat stick. Sounds fun! Bonus points if taking the effect that gives %damage to next core skill from overcapping rage to really ramp up that one big hit.
2:37 Note that Resource Generation from Willpower ONLY affects resource from BASIC attacks, no other sources. While Resource Generation on gear will increase resource from ANY source.
@@DonTheCrown Test gear with some significant Resource Generation and see how it causes Resource Regeneration from any source; you can see it in the stats panel, the percentages increases. You can also test it directly so for example try with non basic attack resource regen for comparison. Now take off that gear and replace with something that does NOT have Resource Generation and then try to add a bunch of Willpower to get the Resource Generation from Willpower (preferably reaching the same percentage as you had on the gear for comparison). You can see in the stats panel that the Resource Generation does not increase the percentage there. And you can also test it out directly with non basic attacks that regen resource, that it has no effect. And then test it with just basic attacks and confirm that it does work for that here, so should get same regen result with basic attacks as the percentages from the gear gave you. The stats panel for your resource generation sort of hints at this indirectly by saying it increases from *any* source and then realize that an increase to Resource Generation from Willpower does NOT increase the percentage displayed on that Generation stat on the stats panel.
It's also worth noting that it's possible that further on in the game we'll receive something that will allow sorc's or rogue's to use overpowered as a guaranteed mechanic. But we'll seen in a few weeks I suppose.
Hey Don, I've been testing Overpower on a Druid and the observed damage does not seem to be in line with the formula you provided at 1:48. The Overpower Damage modifier is affecting the base hit component of an overpowering hit as opposed to the bonus damage from Life and Fortify. Is there any chance you can revisit this mechanic in a future video? I would love to theorycraft an Overpower build but what I am finding online just isn't translating to what I am observing in game.
Thanks Don! Really enjoyed the video Can you do one on diminishing returns and all things that scale down. For instance does stacking willpower have DR or does CC have DR? Also in the 1st beta i noticed my poison ticks would sometimes turn blue so I swore dots could overpower
@@DonTheCrown Need more information on the Sacred Nightmare Sigel and how it relates to the dungeon completion. I was presented with 4 points and a bunch of icons displaying glyphs? Took a pic but YT doesn't allow attaching pics.
Thanks for making this! Well planned of blizzard to call a stat "overpower", makes it really easy to find info about it between all the clickbait........
Hey Don, nice Video as always. I recently asked myself whether playing an item build that uses a 2 h weapon is a big disadvantage to others with two 1 h because you only get 1 aspect on it. Shouldn’t blizzard consider to give a 2 H weapon 2 aspects ( gotta find a solution for barbs tho)
Is overpower damage special in any way? Is it like crushing blow? Is it percent hp dmg? Or is it simply a mechanic to give tanky players a little boost in damage?
no, it doesnt have the channeled tag. typically a channeled skill doesnt stop til you stop holding the button or you run out of resources or are crowd controlled
iS OVERPOWER WORTH diving into as a Barb? Meaning what kind of numbers am I looking forward vs say crit strik or something. To emphasize in comparsion to other damages like I could get a glyph that gives me 53% damage when fortified vs every 30 seconds I get guaranteed OP.
Barbarian’s Arsenal System allows Barb skills to dynamically use one of 4 different weapons they have equipped; so swapping is just a matter of using a skill that uses one weapon, and then using another skill that uses a different weapon.
So do you get extra damage if you are fortified or is it just the value of your fortify... The way I have my character I have the fortify value but I'm almost never fortified because I don't often lose that much hp
You wrote: Overpower damage = (life + fortify) * OP multiplier.. but how does that work? Let's say my hp is 500 and I am fully fortified for 500 as well, I don't imagine this means (500 + 500) * OP multiplier since that would be really overpowered (pun intended). I would guess that being at 100% life gives you a 2x multiplier on your OP multiplier, and being fully fortified as well gives a 3x multiplier. Something like that is what would be consistent with my observations in game, but it is just an educated guess. Perhaps you have the more exact numbers to give us?
yup thats why overpower does a lot of damage, although if your base skill damage is much higher than your hp (which tends to be the case) then overpower isnt as OP as youd think
Is it weird if i though that druid bear meta would of been overpower? it feels like it would make sense for the tanky spec to get overpower build but i wonder if its as viable as it looks for blood necro. (not that i care that much im a brainlet whirlwind barb mind you)
Alright, buckle up, class! Today we're diving into the wacky world of "overpower" in gaming. Now, don't confuse it with being overpowered, because that's a whole different can of pixelated worms. Overpower is a mechanic that all classes can experience, but let's be real, some of your classmates are losing their minds over it. We've got bear Druids, blood-sucking necromancers, and raging barbarians who are all gaga for overpower. So, here's the deal. When you use a skill that deals damage, you've got a slim 3% chance to overpower. How do you know it's happening? Well, forget boring old damage numbers. Overpowered hits are all about being flashy. We're talking blue or orange numbers, baby! Blue means you've got a regular overpower, and orange means you've hit the jackpot with a critical overpower. Just don't expect damage over time or channeled skills to join the overpower party, 'cause they're sitting this one out. But wait, there's more! Our beloved Druids, necromancers, and barbarians have special powers to make overpowering a sure thing. Necromancers in the "blood" archetype are all about stacking fortify and going nuts with overpower. They've got skills like blood Surge and blood plants that guarantee an overpower after smacking enemies a bunch of times. Plus, they've got this passive thing called "rathma's Vigor" that gives them more life and ensures an overpowered blood skill after 15 seconds of staying healthy. Fancy, right? Now, Druids may not be the flashiest bunch, but they've got their own tricks up their bark-covered sleeves. Wear bear Druids can guarantee overpowers by staying healthy for a whopping 12 seconds with "pulverized" or 20 seconds in bear form with "provocation." And hey, if you're into Earth skills, there's an option for you too. After ten kills, "obsidian Slam" will make your next Earth skill go bonkers with an overpower. It's all about finding the right rocks, people. Lastly, we've got the barbarians. They're a bit... well, let's just say they've got some janky methods of overpowering. First, they need to bash away with a two-handed weapon and score four critical strikes. Then, and only then, their next big skill will overpower. It's like they're summoning the mighty power of RNGesus themselves. And if that's not bizarre enough, barbarians can also switch weapons ten times with "Earth Strikers" and unleash an overpower. Who needs logic when you've got weapon swapping as a superpower? But remember, folks, no permanent overpowered whirlwinds. Sorry, dreams of ultimate spinning destruction crushed. Channeled skills just ain't cutting it. That's it for the overpower class, folks! Remember, if you have any burning questions or requests for future mind-bending topics, leave a comment below. Until then, keep stacking health, fortify, and overpower damage multiplier like your virtual lives depend on it. Stay outrageous, gamers!
I think likely based off how stats work w/ rare paragon nodes that you'll not want to pump your main stat too much. Druids are going to be very strong though in endgame, they're best at using their full toolkit to make some insane builds.
so are Bears OP?
ruclips.net/video/CkYS53ctTIg/видео.html . This guy build in the server slam beta made druid look OP

aspects on 2Hs get +100% effect (to the number with a roll range), so half the aspects but twice the power

not really sadly, the aspect for weapon swapping to 100% overpowers seems to be eaten by thorns, even if you don't have any thorns value
what does it mean to "swap weapon" in Earthstriker's Aspect?
